  1. /signed I too have not made another progen that I play because I do not want to spend the majority of my gaming time doing hu's/waiting for gm's to help with hu's/being forced to "spec" the way the missions/rewards dictate. I hope the progen race can be brought back to like they were in live, like how the rest of the emulator devs are recreating missions/hu's/storyline, instead of the further split away from the direction the rest of the emulator is going. Byahkee, you have some awesome ideas that would make for a lot of the missing content mission-wise. Just please stop with the ambiguity/multiple step (long missions)/forced game play(if you don't spec a certain way/play a certain class you don't get the mission/reward). If you broke a lot of the hu missions down you could have some of the happiest players on the emu, make it easy to understand, stop dangling the carrots, and look at the direction the rest of the development is going. If the development eventually leads to the return of the vrix, shouldn't the progens be moving in the same direction as the rest of the team instead of being "at war" with the other races? I currently ignore Moto, I have yet to see anything that clearly identifies what it is and how it affects the game in general. from a quality assurance type person to an engineering type person; please keep in mind that we all don't think like you do, we need some things spelled out for us so everyone understands the intention and direction in the same way. Also that we don't all like the same "type" of game play. some of us like to explore more than combat, others trade runs, some combat, and yet others do jobs, which is a balancing act to keep all types content.
  2. I logged back in and am at QAR still missing the levels and faction is still at default I will go try a job now to see if they are working Edit: confirming job gave faction and xp.
  3. when the server was restarted I had the following: JE 1 lost almost two levels 2 all factions reset after spending weeks working on them 3 jobs are giving 0 xp 4 Red Dragon jobs have a 50/50 chance to give faction both before and after restart
  4. After the server crash all factions have been reset to default leaving weeks of work gone. I understand we are moving ahead but with faction being reset and possible future issues/changes can we please be able to dock and use QAR until faction is fully functional?
  5. EvE is a politically oriented pvp environment. There is no safe space especially if there is a war declaration active. From my perspective, there's a fine line that separates it from reality. The politics, spies, pirates, and gankers have free rein; it really is a 100% pvp game. Forgot to insure your ship you lose ship/cargo/equipment months or years of work down the drain in a heartbeat. Forgot to upgrade or replace your clone after death? Again you lose anywhere from days to years of "experience" plus the loss of any implants you might have installed. (implants can enhance learning and/or skills) That guy that you've been in corp with for the last 3 years that's been your best buddy? Guess what now that he's CEO of your corp or alliance you find out he's a spy.... with the push of a button everything that has been accumulated is gone; it's all his now... well his and his real buddies. Your forums/teamspeak/vent hacked? that's right it's those guys that you have a war with or someone who just doesn't like you. Want to be a pirate? It's ok as long as you don't get caught by the in-game "cops" or gate guns/station defenses. There are also numerous good things about EvE, the experience is different for everyone. This is just a small part of what EvE is like, it isn't for everyone. This is also why I love EnB so much, it's PvE heaven; no smack, whining about balance, no cliques, PK'g/griefing/ganking and calling it "pvp" It is refreshing to be able to log in, play the game and not worry or have to constantly watch your back for the lowlife pkr's; or have chat spammed by those who feel compelled to browbeat, beat their chests, smack talk, or otherwise ruin the gaming experience for those who don't have the same "play style" as they do. Some other games *cough* WoW *cough* that's all you see and/or read on their forums. Edit: EvE & War dec's Rule 1 never undock without checking local Rule 2 never move anything of value without an escort Rule 3 if you're foolish enough to think you can do it just because you've done it x amount of times before see Rule 1 & 2 above.
  6. With agrippa technology only being in the progen area how will this impact the other races in the future? I retired my PS in ST3 due to the direction missions were taking. I feel like there's a "carrot on a stick" to build/play my character according to the direction the missions take. I explore, mine, and am not so in to combat, where will this leave me as far as "spec'g" the way I like to play vs "spec'g" to fulfill mission requirements; whether I play a PS/PP/PW? The terran and jenquai missions are getting closer to what they were in live; will there be more movement in that direction with the progen as well? Or are there plans to take them in a different direction?
  7. I first want to thank you for trying to bring something new and innovative to the game. EvE has bounties, but that's a pvp game; I feel here it would create a negative environment. Personally I want to explore and play the game, I don't want to be playing hide and seek with mobs which will take away from how I would like to play.
  8. Perhaps; 1. calculate what sp are needed to max skills, divide them by number of levels and distribute them accordingly as we level? 2. create missions or jobs at level 150 to give us a choice to do them for as much sp up to max sp or not? There are already suggestions in the thread about giving donators special things so I won't repeat it here.
  9. If someone gets a virus/trojan/keylogger off any of the "ad sites" it could potentially set the emulator up for issues like; 1) a negative connection between the ad and EA which could potentially bring them down on us all if the complaints about it are directed at EA 2) draw the attention of farmers and spammers that will bring the bots/macros/hacks/spam with them. Business is business, the minute the word "revenue" is used then it becomes income. It also means the emulator is making monetary gains which could bring EA seeing dollars not going in their pocket.
  10. It's my understanding that currently faction standings are: Red = -1500 and lower Yellow = -1499 to 500 Green = 500 and up I know faction is still being worked on and adjusted, but will it eventually get closer to live? and will there be a chart to show who to kill or not kill for faction? Secondly; will the faction changes eventually mean I won't be able to enter some sectors because of it? Third; will the races continue to be pushed farther apart with faction, unlike live which had them at least neutral to each other to start? I was in Largarto last night with my JE, we were in a group of 2 terran traders and 1 progen privateer. I was the only person in the group that the lvl 48 renegade progen commander would agro on. I know as Jenquai my faction is automatically lower than the others, but this made group play difficult (sucked the fun out) that our factions were so different I would have to at times remain cloaked to keep from being attacked by the level 48's unlike my friends.
  11. rofl.... maybe that was my problem, I may not be distinctive enough? or too distinctive? or just plain confused with it..... thank you for the clarification though
  12. There were a couple of posts and comments in st3 that even though we have a lot of registered users, we have many who aren't going to play until the p-wipes are over so of course we'll have a smaller population. Some didn't like the direction the emulator was going and quit, but are still registered so again makes population appear bigger. I think part of the numbers registered is due to having to have a separate email address for each "game" account. I speak for myself when I say I could not get the site to accept my email for my two accounts; finally gave up and used my second email address so now I have two registrations on the site. I don't think the game is so much pushing multi-boxing as when people log on and can't find groups, or play in the same fashion as they did in live it makes it appear multi-boxing is the way to go. I play both multi-box and solo if I'm in a group or raid. Currently I multi-box more due to lack of groups and mobs being the way they are while they're being "tweaked". I have a feeling multi-boxing will become a mute point as we get closer to alpha/live phases and the player wipes end. Until then I don't know what the answer is, not many people on perhaps find a guild that is active during your time zone? ask around in-game chat? perhaps start a post in general discussion "looking for groupies in xx time zone"?
  13. I have seen posts and in-game chat stating this. In live there was a small bonus for each individual asteroid you cleared not for the whole field. to return to being "like live"--- get missions in place, mobs in place, loot in place. There are still many missions/raids/items missing that the devs are working on getting into place. like live doesn't mean literally like live it means as close as they can get. Some of the greatest parts of this game for me personally was the exploring to find those off the path fields, everyone working together towards a single goal, and the non pvp enviornment. There are other games *cough* WoW *cough* that if you look at the forums and how the game is now you can see the history of knee-jerk changes to try and keep people happy; it is now plagued with imbalance/hackers/cliques and a lot of not so happy people. Is that what we want this to become?
  14. In some ways it is getting closer to what live was, but I see things that are a totally different, too.... (unless you mean live as it relates to the emulator) faction- starting with the negative faction removes some choices in gameplay. To gain faction will be a mind numbing grind Progen- the never ending "bonus" missions and agrippa tech???? seems they're forming their own game with no indication of working with the rest of the team on development and no consideration for the players asking for some form of information about said missions. Jenqui- very close to live, but with factions instead of seeing progen as neutral they are red with auto negative faction at start Terran- same as above Currently I'm confused about which direction the emulator is going because depending on who is online/chatting/forums I see different versions of what is going on... Please don't take this wrong I'm not bashing or blaming, I'm just looking for some clarification. My understanding was that it would be brought back as close to live as possible then move forward with the storyline. What I see is the races being torn apart with Terran/Jenquai going one direction while Progen are going in their own direction.
  15. I have yet to see any ore fields being "fought over" by players, but I'm not all-seeing either. Perhaps it isn't so much what is where but with mob agro, level of mob relative to level of ore, and/or location of the ore itself. mob agro is still a pain you don't get single mobs but what feels like sector hate having for example; lvl 25ish-30ish mobs around level 1-3 ore fields can create deterrent for mining high level ores in low level areas and vice versa... nice to have the high level ones in lower level areas, but it does encourage camping, on the other hand low level ore fields in high level mob sectors aren't worth the effort to mine. could the explore bonus be adding some "territoriality" in the ore fields? perhaps one person or group has started mining with the intention of clearing the field to have someone else or another group show up with the same intention? I've had my combat jobs killed by people who are group mining for explore xp, I guess they saw it as a "bonus" of some combat xp. That being said I'm of the thought that maybe the bonus xp is becoming more of an issue than incentive not to cherry pick. I remember the mining/combat ops in Uranus in st3, I miss them, but with mob agro and being jobs are in game I can see where people would rather do those. Also population seems very sparse in some time zones so finding a group in really hard right now. Some of my friends are also caught up in the endless grind of the "bonus missions" that seem to go on forever so we don't group much. I hope we don't keep changing things to create and environment of "what people want" instead of the original goal of recreating what live was and move forward from there. I already don't play the class I love due to what I feel has become a single minded goal to make me play as directed and not have to abililty to choose how I want to play. I don't respond well to carrots on sticks, rewards dangled for the sole purpose of conformance to a defined path, or having my enjoyment curtailed because of how others think I should "play".
