  1. Kyp said in this post and I quote, "we can limit it by your IP addresses and if it became an excessive problem, we probably would/will so keep that in mind if you are a multi-boxer and you abuse others through means of multi-boxing". I assume that those that are somehow able to bypass the system, would then be in violation of the Net-7 Entertainment Code of Conduct, and thus could be suspended and or banned. If attended macros are allowed, hopefully they will be incorperated into the game. Much like the macro system in WoW, this way the DEVS could govern how, and what they are used for. As for players that actually play the game, TB said that interactive players will always be at a advantage. Apparently dynamic content will make macro and multi-boxing less effective. None the less, I still believe some rules should be implemented regarding macro's and multi-boxing. Avani, there really should be no debate about it. Its obvious that the use of macro's and excessive multi-boxing should be restricted. The question we need to ask is how should they be restricted, and ultimatly thats the purpose of this post.
  2. I made this proposal as a way to govern the use of certain exploits (macro's and multi-boxing) originally the rules where listed here, in a post about a players inquiry about the use of macros. Multi-boxing is limited to 3 accounts per registered user. Bot user's and un-attended macro user's be suspended/banned. Attended macro use is allowed, with possible incorporation into the game itself. I feel as though these 3 simple rules would make the game a bit more fair and balanced for everyone, including those that want to use macros, and those that want to multi-box. Thus I ask, respectively that these rules be implemented into the Net-7 Entertainment Code of Conduct found here. Eventually I might create a poll to vote on wether or not these rules should be implemented into the Net-7 Entertainment Code of Conduct; although it is ultimately up to the DEVS to decide, I would still like to see what the results would be, IF the community were to decide.
  3. here I agree, there really should be no debate about it at all. BUT unfortunately, there is. I am going to post the 3 rules related to macros/multi-boxing in the suggestion forums and hope for the best. If we get enough people to support the cause, I am sure the DEVS will take action and implement them into the Net-7 Entertainment Code of Conduct, hopefully at least sometime before we hit live. EDIT: I went ahead and posted the 3 rules I proposed as amendments in the suggestion forums, I request that further discussions on the topic of the Net-7 Entertainment Code of Conduct, macro's and multi-boxing be discussed there. Thanks and I hope to hear what everyone has to say soon
  4. With the exception of blizzard which has large amounts of capital to toss around in lawsuits, I have witnessed the battle of the bots in many F2P games, and the improvisation tactics of macro and bot creators always comes out on top. Eventually, any system you incorporate to put bot users at a disadvantage will only be temporary. Thus, bot user's will always be at a advantage unless they are banned. I agree, but some type of rules need to be implemented to regulate and control the use of bots, macros and or multi-boxers. Letting them have free reign will ultimately have a negative impact on the actual people attempting to play the game legitimately, thus! I propose that sometime before live, that these 3 simple rules be implemented into the Net-7 Entertainment Code of Conduct: Multi-boxing is limited to 2 accounts per registered user. Bot user's and un-attended macro user's be suspended/banned. Attended macro use is allowed, with possible incorporation into the game itself. I believe that these simple rules should please multi-boxer's and macro user's alike. AND with the dynamic content you mentioned, interactive players will be at the greatest advantage, What does everyone think of this proposal? Also, with all due respect. Lets keep any personal confrontations to PM's and focus more on the topic this post has become. Insults are childish..
  5. Happy birthday! I remember when I turned 19.

  6. Idea's are good, I would make good use of a suggestions forum.
  7. I agree 100%! I suggest that when we go live that multi-boxing should be limited to 1 extra account per registered user.
  8. As long as there is differences there will be competition and thus politics. Guild politics in EnB should be much less than that of say WoW, or EVE, but none the less it's impossible to eliminate politics completely. The best thing we can do to combat it is to think about what makes us all the same instead of focusing on what makes us different.
  9. dic·tate v. dic·tat·ed, dic·tat·ing, dic·tates v.tr. 1. To say or read aloud to be recorded or written by another: dictate a letter. 2. a. To prescribe with authority; impose: dictated the rules of the game. b. To control or command: "Foreign leaders were . . . dictated by their own circumstances, bound by the universal imperatives of politics" (Doris Kearns Goodwin). There is the definition for dictate, I guess I could have used another word, imposed, prescribed or ordained. But these verbs all mean the same thing which is to set forth expressly and authoritatively. And to say that any rules are not set forth expressly and authoritatively says that there are no rules at all. I feel by allowing macros and multi-boxing now, gives people a green light to continue to do so in the future. It doesn't take long for macros to turn into scripts and scripts into full fledged bots. BUT if the use of macros is going to be allowed, perhaps the developer's can incorperate the use into the game, this way the developer's will always be able to govern and dictate what can be done with said macros. With that being said, a autopilot feature would be really:Dice As for multi-boxing I still firmly believe that it should be strictly limited to 2 accounts per registered user. At least while the player base is so low. Perhaps the limit could be increased as the player base grows eventually leading up to 5 accounts. Nothing agitate's me more than going to farm a specific mob only to see it camped by a single player party of multi-box'ed accounts, AND if its a problem now it will only be worse in live. This sounds like a good way of dealing with the problem, but a easy work around would be to create a macro that log's out and then back in to reset the timer, if the timer is character restricted the macro could be set to choose another character, or if account restricted could choose another account, rinse and repeat. All the time and work you put into the code would then in fact be useless. I also imagine it would be kinda difficult to determine wether or not the character being played is actually human or not without incorporating the macro into the game itself. Also, it seems that you where referring to non-attended macro's(borderline bots), what about a person that is actually at their computer using a attended macro? This brings me back to what I said above, if macro's are going to be allowed. I feel as though they should be incorporated into the game so the developer's can govern and dictate how they are used. Also, what do you mean by dynamic content? It sounds really interesting an;)fun
  10. I allready covered the use of multi-boxing in pay to play games in a previous post, companys would be insane not to allow it. BUT under the current situation of this game being free to play with a limited player base, account usage should be limited to no more than 2 accounts per registered user. AT least while we are in pre-alpha pre-beta testing phases. In America, Freedoms in the real world are dictated by government and constitution. In the virtual world of MMORPG's, freedoms are dictated by the administration and the EULA. Trying to compare freedoms in the real world with freedoms in the game world is pointless, games are nothing like the real world and thats why we play them. The rest of what you said about ridiculous laws in the real world is thus irrelevant.
  11. Well, Its hard to come up with a solution that will please everyone. Company's that make MMORPG's have been trying for years to solve the imbalance problems you listed, and for the most part they have, for instance rested XP in wow. Company's are also designing new games so that they are highly resistant to lag and can run virtually on any machine. This helps level the playing field in that area. But as the company does its part. Then so must the end-user, and this is where real life comes in. Its not the company's responsibility to manage your unstable internet connection, nor is it their responsibility to manage the power of your machine, if a game comes out and its requirements are greater than what your computer is capable of doing. Its your job to fix that, if your internet connection sucks then its your job to fix that as well. If real life limits your play time you either adjust it or suck it up. If you can't well then you just don't play the game and thats life.
  12. THX a lot, was wondering where this neat little program disappeared too.
  13. I am from Hagerstown, MD. Its really cold here right now and I can't wait till it warms up in the spring so I can go fishing.
  14. Your right, life is unfair. But that doesn't mean games should be too, Games should be fun for everyone to play. After all there only purpose is to help us escape the fact that for the majority of us, life sucks. In order for a game to be fun and enjoyable for everyone to play it must be as fair and balanced as possible. The problem with multi-boxing is that many players are running groups all by them selfs allowing them to camp/farm certain mobs creating an unfair advantage where as a single player trying to attack the same mob is at a disadvantage. This act of multi-boxing to create groups for personal benefit disrupts the normal gameplay and therefore is in violation of Net-7 Entertainment Code of Conduct, which states on page 8, rule #13 that you may not disrupt the normal playability of a region, territory, area or location. Multi-boxing is a unnatural way to play the game and can grant the people that use this tactic many advantages over those that don't thus making it a exploit.
  15. The point is, doing anything that gives you a unfair advantage over players that play the game normally is a exploit. Multi-boxing and using macros are both exploits. WHY else would anyone want to dual-box other than to have a advantage over someone that doesn't? AGAIN if this was a beta for any other game it would be impossible to dual-box generally because only 1 beta account is permitted per-tester. I feel as though we are taking advantage of what the DEVS have done to revive the game by using dual-boxing and macros.
  16. What else have I stated that I disagree with besides using macros and multi-boxing to the point where it causes unfair advantages? Never before have I posted any guides about what skills people should lvl, or what items they should equip In fact, what does equipment or skills have anything to do with the fact that macros and dual boxing are being used as exploits? AND if I remember correctly the trade exploit was fixed some time ago? Also sperm cells have nothing to do with generating brain cells, Multitasking Behaviors are Mapped to the Prefrontal Cortex anyway, And is generally not a good thing. Don't believe me? Then check out my source http://psychcentral.com/blog/archives/2008/10/30/learning-to-multitask-dont-bother/
  17. LOL! If only sperm and eggs had brains. I guess what I am trying to say is that yeah, the game is in a pre-alpha, pre-beta state and we are lucky to be able to play the game in the first place, I feel as though we should be thankful for that rather than taking advantage of what the DEVS have done by looking to exploit the game by using dual boxing and macro's. Lets just play the game legitimately, join party's, kill stuff and have fun! I mean for real, if this where a beta for any other game, would we be looking for ways to exploit it? Or for ways to enjoy it and make it better?
  18. But debating abortion is fun :'(
  19. I agree having more interactive players in the game is good! I don't see how having multiple accounts helps the devs with the stress test, if thats the case they should encourage everyone that has the ability and hardware to create and play as many accounts as possible. ALSO I guarantee we will have just as many people dual boxing in live as we do in the stress test if not more. SO at that point what would be your excuse for dual boxing other than to have a unfair advantage over those that can't?
  20. I don't personaly use macros, BUT if dual boxing is allowed then so should the use of macros. If you are talking about a unfair advantage overall, someone who has between 2 or 5 accounts creating their own partys and such is far worse than a single player using attended macros to do trade runs... IMO if your going to ban the use of macros then also ban the use of dual accounts.
