I cannot gate from Odin Belt to either Odin Rex or Lagato.  Stuck in the Galaxy map.  Gateing into Odin Belt have the same result.  Restarting the client does not seem to help either.  Is there a problem with that map?   [EDIT] There is something wrong with the client sides (on 2 comps, so may be at the time (about 11PM PST last night), something bad was downloaded to the client, or something on the client side was corrupted).   Now, if I backtrack to a neighboring sector (or for my JE, WH out of Odyn Belt), everything works fine.  Same for my PW that got stuck in Odin Rex: It died (Spawned at the Chavez camp), but taking a tow back to Arx Ymir (with 3K XP debt) seems to clear the error, and the PW was able to gate now.   Sorry feel free to move this to Tech Support forum.
  2.   I beg to differ,  You should read the original text again.  The "rude" comment comes in a separate paragraph.  It has nothing to do with the Clear Field job, which is in the previous paragraph.  I agree with Gonzo's comment.

I have this happened to my toons a lot, especially when the server load is high (North of 300).   I think what happened is that during ST4, the population is low so data corruption due to simultaneous access is low.  Now with the explosion of server population, that seems to happen more often.   Getting stuck in the galaxy map is just 1 manifest of the problem.  Followings are the ones I saw:   - Warping a toon, but all of a sudden, it just go straight (i.e. without going through the nav points).  This is due to your toon losing connection to the server as the communication packets between your client and the server is lost.  The client becomes semi-non-responsive, (by semi-non-responsibe I mean you can still see messages displayed, but other people see you as a ghost, and/or group member do not see you on the group panel. ) or if you have not started the Warp, hitting Q will result in the error message "Warp has not completed, please hit Warp again".  Hitting Warp again, yield the same error message.  Bug Reported in Bug Report forum.   - Yesterday I landed on Aragoth station (VT), and a guild mate was supposed to give me 2 devices.  I started a Trade dialog with him, but no trade box showed up.  Later on he informed me that the trade window showed up fine for him, and he confirmed the trade.  I never got the items because there was no window showing up for me.  I had to kill the client and restart for trade window to show up.  It goes without saying that the 2 devices were lost for ever.  The only consolation is that the 2 devices were not very-hard-to-find devices.   - Yesterday also, on a different toon, I was trying to make 12 stacks of ammos.  After the 8th stack, the terminal became non-responsive.  (THe Manufacture button was greyed out, but I have plenty of parts, as I have a full stack for each component to start with).  A kill-app and restart fixed the problem, and I was able to make the last 4 stacks.   Now, if you feel that the same thing happened to you, in the Bug Report forum, there is a field for other users to confirm that such a bug also happened to him/her.  That will help the devs prioritize the issues, as more people reporting the same problem will have that problem's priority raised, and a higher chance to get fixed.
  4. Ok, I don't see a job terminal that gives RD faction, unless it is a combat job, which I seldom look, because my JE can't do them since his CL is much less than 1/3 of his OL for obvious reason. With the new patch, now when I ran trade missions which ask me to transport prisoners, sometimes, I got a message that says "Take me to QAR for some rewards", but I can't go to QAR in the first place ?????  May be this ought to be changed to "Take me to some NPC at some stations outside of BBW".
  5. +1   My only gripe is that I have done the level 3 shield as a PP, and it cost me somewhere North of 100K credits, for a mere +2K (or something like that) Progen rep that I already have.  May be my JE need this mission, but not my PP!!!!
  6. I remember in Live I had to go to Arduine or somewhere to do the HU50, not any more.  Bayakhee (sp) said he would be working on adding Agrippa-like contents to the other races?  (Run and Hide!!!!  LOL!  )
  7. The problem is that as one explores, one would level up, and may be stumble across an Agrippa mission, for which he has already passed the upper limit requirement, due to too many "dings".

  11. The problem is, you are conducting a tour of noobs.  When the leader is hung during gating, the next noob will become leader, and he has no idea how to disband the group.
  12. Humm it looks like I will have to make a PS just for the CF call.  Lv 135 here I come!!! Forgot that I have plenty of acetaminophen stocked to alleviate some pain, as I am allergic to ibuprofen!!!
  13. Now I've got totally confused.  :-)  I am a PP, OL54/15/21/18.  So the Architecti Composita (and probably the Ammo guy) is the only one I can do at this time? I read that Byakhee wrote that Agrippa requires TL25 (Build lv5) to start?  If so then I need to work on my TL, and not the others so as not to exceed the max cap at 75?   Stocked up on coffee (Checked), Valium (Checked), Beer (Checked), and a wig (from pulling hair, checked).  Also have a pillow to possibly vent my frustration on.

Thank you for the information.  Will do that.   Now for the requirement, I read somewhere that in order to start Stage 1, I have to have TL=25 (Build level 5)?  If that is the case, then my toon will be fairly unbalanced (OL=50, TL=25, then CL=12 and EL=13).  Problem is most of newbies get EL=20 from tours from the get-go, and risk not satisfying the max OL requirement for stage 1?

Forget the TT, may be I will revisit it when my PP completes the mission.   So my PP character reached level 50s and have completed the HU50 Upgrade.  Speaking to Agrippa, with the tokens in hold, does not seem to trigger the token mission.  I read the notes and it seems to indicate that build skills level 3 are required, and I have all build skills at level 4, but Agrippa does not seem to tell me what is missing.  Do I have to raise TL to 25 (equivalent to Build Skill lv 5)?

It can be improved even if the server uses UDP.  All it takes is a few tweaks of the handshake between the server and the client, and add some retry mechanism and timeout, plus a sequence number to guard against duplicate request/ACKs especially when UDP is used.  For example (I don't know how complicated the handoff codes are (I bet it is), but a simple handshake with retries look like):   - CLient: Send gating request (with seq #)                                     - Server receive gating/docking request and start handoff.  Wait for client ACK - Client wait for 5 secs, if it does not receive the ACK from server, increment seq# and resend the gating/docking request.  Wait for handoff for 20 sec                                     - Within say 15 sec, server keeps sending handoff start request - Client ACK the handoff if received, otherwise if 20 secs have passed, display an error message and go back to login prompt.                                    - Server drops connection if 15 secs have passed.

Thanks, so my PP would be the only one who can do it.  Looking for a PS with CF in the guild....  :-)   My bad, but the information changes so much since it just came out in Beta.  I wish there is a complete documentation on the missions for each race.  All we newcomers (to the EMU) have is the patch notes and a few posts from the devs for the missions.

Played on Live till the contents update of the gate in Cooper (I think), quit due to lagfest and mostly work related.   Server Galileo (I think), Guild: Banshee Alliance Nick: Starbase (TE).    I originally don't remember the Guild name until I read the EBPortal archive of a guildmate posting on Sunset day (Thanks Weebear) listing my nick among other names I remember in the Guild.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but since there was a question for me, so here is:   - It looks like that it mostly __hung__ at the galactic map (90%) when the server is busy (Load above 60%).   It never crashes.  The other 10% are split between CTMegan (5%) and last-but-not-least, connection to server loss (5%) (i.e. the client seems to be running, but clicking on the map does not get the route traced, and your form-mate cannot see you).  The lastest form of the handoff loss just happens within the past week.   Notes:   - The problem seldom happens when the load at the server is below 40%. - My mates and I are playing on the same room, so I can tell that the slower the PC, the more likely that the handoff failure would happen.  By slower I mean, it takes longer for the client to display the galactic map, i.e. how fast it receives the handoff from the server. - Packet loss do happen, but the client server connection uses TCP (according to Kyp), so the sender of the handoff (the server) handles the retry automatically.   Kyp did say that some router just drops the connection from the client ends, but I cannot confirm that given that several PCs share the same router in my setup. - It is not due to multiboxing.  My desktop (i7 950, ASUS Sabertooth) running a single client, have this problem more often than my laptop which has boxing (ASUS G74SX i7 2630QM)

That is too bad!  Yes I know it is hard to change the client, but I was hoping that something can be done to fix it :-( I am playing on Win 7, but my mate plays on Win XP-SP3, and I don't remember the game crashed that often back in Live, so I was hoping a fix from the server side can fix it!!
