To be legal stay away from modding the client.  There may be some files around that are an early version of this EnB project.  It may help your programmers to see what needs to be done with the db.  

As far as I know/remember  (they were ALL client side files) I could be wrong here but I don't think we had access to anything EA related.  Westwood had some information on a FTP site, limited value but a start.  Some of the tools were downloadable for other westwood games that mostly worked with the EnB files.     IIRC the files were taken from captured xmissions from when the game was live.     You might check the download section to see if the ancient files are still up.  Please note that we had a "GREAT Server CRASH" a few years back and lost many posts and communications regarding the progress of the encryption crack.   Also the game did not just go poof and back to where it is today.  When the code was cracked it was great to just log in and fly our ships (that's all we could do).   Just saying, Mim

The encryption took many many MANY dedicated players and would be developers many many MANY hours to sift through transmission from and to EnB.  If I am not mistaken there was an application (yep we called them that then) that we ran and sent in our results.   Breaking it was to me, a  minor miracle.       But that is how it started.       Just saying, Mim

Having signed the petition to stop the FCC regulations on the internet I am on a mailing list.  I have not posted any up until now but it looks like one of my thoughts will come true.       Want another reason to worry about the FCC’s Internet takeover? LOL My last post on this topic (possibly).  In live it was around the time of the movie "Forest Gump" being popular, and quoted TOO much in game but... the saying now is as appropriate as it was then...   RUN FOREST RUN!!!!!!!!!!   Running to a gate to heal or escape (Live to fight another day) will keep you from getting DP.  Also the mobs heal a bit slower than us so if you don't run too far and the mob is chained to an area you can usually go back for the kill. You know what they say...Don't let the door knob hit ya where the good lord split ya... /just kidding.     Have you tried to CF skills? With a max skill or two and a few Call forwards you can easily shake up the usual this weapon set only for that class.  If you ask around in game there are a few PWs that have taken MLs and or Beams only into raids.  A bold move and also a fun one.  Changing up the weapon set is a challenge and will add end game shake up.     Also the game is not complete as yet...there is more to the story line to come, (as well as mobs that will and can take you out of a full warp) so if you have maxed every character and have switched up different weapon skills already, take a break, it does a world of good (Taking my break now).     J5st s163ng, M3m

I usually get blasted for answering a request for comments.   Here goes, instead of changing up the game try this.   A PW sporting MLs with a side of beams?    There are many combinations available to you in each class.  My PW as well as my PS use a combination or PLs as well as MLs for solo play, a ML on a progen makes it much easier to level CL as well as the Hull upgrade missions.   Just saying, Mim   P.S. Hmmmm looks like a good idea to me.  A little background.   About 15 years ago my wife was doing yard work and lost the diamond.  Luck of all lucks I found the diamond and taped it to a 3x5 index card for safe keeping until I could get to a jeweler to re-set it.  When I got around to taking it to the jeweler the card had gone missing.  After an exhaustive search no luck and was forgotten for another 5 years or so.  One day my brother in law  (her brother) shows up and asks if I was looking for this diamond.... It seems he was on the phone, grabbed something to write a note on and ....you guessed it used the back of this card.  I took it to the jeweler that day.   Fast forward to present day.........   It is hospital policy that ALL jewelry be removed before any procedure, yup the ring along with the band has gone missing yet again. I had it at home gave it to her and she promptly lost it yet again.  Thinking this might just be a hint. :)     So if found again I will definitely consider the above option.     Just saying, Mim

Yea Yea Yea I am one evil SOB, but you are wrong yet again...this is NOT a charity, it in no way feeds the homeless nor gives shelter to wayward girls.  The emulator takes donations to keep the game afloat.  You have options here... you can continue to play and not donate or you can go away (my preferred action on your part) or you can donate and shut the heck up spewing your obvious ignorance about how the emulator is financed (Even with a response to your veiled threat of tell us all or no one will donate ever again) <- note: yup an exaggeration. .      P.S. I'm not sure why you thought my request for some to NOT say they would only donate if some demand/request were met.  If you re-read my post you would see that I only said that they could donate or not... and still play and enjoy the game or not.   Nothing hostile in that,  but I can be persuaded to take a hostile stance.  The funny thing is that at the time of this players post it was like his/her third (now 56 total posts), I took exception with a very new player coming in and hinting that if and only if he/she got his/her way he/she would donate.       Still waiting to see the donate tag change on this player, yours too, as long as we are on the topic.     Just dicens, Mim

I have been trying to connect to the forums for the past several days with varying degrees of success.  When there are over 170 or so anonymous users I just can't get on at all.  Now with only 78 or so  anonymous users I can get on but page loads take 20 to 30 seconds.  Makes it very hard for me to piss off other users. ;)    I am in the process of replacing my router as well as upgrading switches (needed overall not just for here) I hope to see an improvement.        ただ、言っ Mim

I think you might be right.  There is a feature in IP Board called IPS Spam Monitor, I'm not sure how it works but anything will be better than what is in place now.  I hate trying to log in and finding over 30 new users on and posting links to videos that may be porn sites.  Or outright scam sites.     Be patient and we may all benefit from this new feature.     010010100111010101110011011101000010000001010011011000010111100101101001011011100110011100101100 Mim

I have been doing a bit of looking for the original documents that the new Net neutrality rules are based on.  What I find of the most interest is the fees that will be charged by the US to operators of web sites.  I am not 100% sure as the new document has not been released yet.     The first is the original 1934 document... If you read through it it was amended several times and the most recent that I could find was the Bill Clinton add-on of 1996.  It seems the 1996 document being an amendment of the original document is using the 1934 document for the pricing structure. Note: pages 18 - 29.   My fear (it may be unfounded) is that not just the BIG guys will be charged a "fee" and be licensed by the US but also the little guys see pricing structure in the 1934 document (read EnB Emulator).  I also am a bit concerned about the section of international fees/inspections for any "communication" to and or from the US.   Listed below are the links to the documents, both the wiki and the actual document.   If anyone lives outside US and can check if their local news is reporting anything about this.
