Bluemeanie
Anyone else using Avast having an issue where it's reporting the launcher (launchnet7) as a trojan and quarantining it? I've scanned it at virustotal and it's clean, I knew it was but wanted to be sure before reporting it as a false positive to Avast. Now to get it out of the chest and remember how to get around this. Woodstock HGM [HGM]
I also had this problem, What i did (luckily have three computers) is disabled Avast, Then I copied the launchnet7.exe file from one computer to the other, i opened Avast and clicked on safe zone and added the file path for both Net-7 and EnB client to the list. then i signed on to my Avast account and added both the Net-7 and the ENB directories to the Exclusions list so it should ignore these files in teh future. LordHypno
Ran into some problems with this, myself. Avast returns the EA GAMES\Earth & Beyond\patch.exe|>LaunchNet7.exe is infected by Win32:Agent-AVNG [Trj] My av (Windows Defender at the time) was maxing out my processor and drive resources, but not alerting me. Currently running a boot-time scan to elimimate any other causes. Is this a false positive? Edited February 15, 2015 by LordHypno
Woodstock HGM [HGM]
Yes it is a false positive. Add the net 7 and Enb files to exclusion zone and safe modes of your anti virus
Kyp [LDEV]
It is because they are unrecognized and small executables. Add them to the exclusion list in Avast and you should be golden without dropping your shields. :)
LordHypno
I had inadvertantly deleted it. (thought I was quarantining it). Everything seems to work fine.
