  1. I think you guys are complaining too much. Trekker is doing a great job! If you don't like it, then don't install it.
  2. I created two keyboard binding charts for the default EnB control schemes. You can find them here: http://isometricland.net/keyboard/keyboard.php
  3. Can't wait. To prevent misuse, you could just dump the top (or better yet random) 10% from each table. [edit] Errr, OK, on further thought while that's a good idea in theory, due to the interdependence of the different tables it may not work out that way in practice. If the constraints and triggers are set up properly, it should at least be possible to not break anything.
  4. I never could get it to work with the maps. I always get a "Map is not currently available" message. Could you upload them somewhere (e.g. to the forum) please?
  5. After less than 1000hrs?? I can't agree. OTOH, as long as these guys aren't getting paid, you can only expect maintenance to occur during peak hours as opposed to off-peak hours.
  6. I've got an older copy of the database on hand, so if you can run the numbers by I'll give it a shot.
  7. One bug I noticed is that, if you are auto following a mob, then you have to sometimes click twice with the mouse to switch to normal flight movement. I *think* this happens only if the mouse is also hovering over the mob. I.e. you have to click somewhere else. The keyboard shortcuts seem to work OK, but I don't have the movement actions mapped, only the turning actions.
  8. Some higher poly ship models would be a nice first step. Everyone would notice it right away! Might want to do it as a mod project separate from EnB-Emu for the reasons stated above though... Anyway, great job!
  9. I was wondering if anyone had successfully built a (singleplayer) test server? I would like to test some modifications I am planning to the database. I'm assuming I will need a version of the SVN source from the same time and date as the latest database dump. Also, is it possible to host the test server on the same computer as the client and still have both perform well (again, only singleplayer)? Thanks.
  10. So, you're saying that a Web browser would be needed since, fundamentally, the client data can't be patched without the UnrealED tool. Thanks, that's very helpful!
  11. Ah, OK. I didn't realize so much of the game universe data was hardcoded into the client. I assumed it had all been externalized into the database. I'm glad an expert was around to correct me! However, if everything is hardcoded, then how will people hosting their own servers in the future be able to modify the sectors?
  12. Why thousands? There are only ~100 or so sectors. Also, who said anything about generating them on the fly? The sector data is stored in a database, so the tool would only need to be operated once per restart/wipe at the database level. There are non-MMO examples that have been released, though. MoO, Xconq, Elite, Vega Strike (OK this one's only half complete), etc... Not sure if Trade Wars was procedurally generated.
  13. I'd like to suggest that the next wipe feature a randomly generated universe. Not necessarily quests and so forth, but locations at the very least. This should be possible.
  14. Would like smaller versions in case of multiple toons, too.
  15. Another option would be to change *some* skills so that they can be leveled up ad infinitum, producing only increasingly marginal effects with each subsequent increase. I.e. for a JE: Make Fold Space go 10 units farther. Increase the damage modifier for beams by another 1%. Make the cloak skill last 0.1 seconds longer.
  16. Would you mind sharing what you did to fix it?
  17. Mine keeps saying 'Forum user not found' and 'Account not created'. [edit] The problem was that I was entering my primary email address instead of my alternate.
