Im running E&B as we speak, It runs fine, i run 2 clients with some latency but not too bad. Btw the "box" is a home made fan mount i made. Without it the computer gets to about 90-100 degrees due to the built in fan not able to keep up. With the ghetto fan mount I keep the computer down to about 35-50 degrees. I found this computer in a dumpster about a year back and been using it ever since. Looked like someone had stomped the crap out of it. Edit: The main reason I dont "upgrade" to a new computer is I really dont want to mess around with new operating system Win7, It looks too much like Vista and I hate Vista with a passion.

Hmm Ya missed a directory that he might have. If your running XP this is what it should look like: C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Earth & Beyond\release\client.exe If your running anything above XP, like Vista (*cough*Crap*cough*) or Win7 (Which I have no opinion on) it will look like this: C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Earth & Beyond\release\client.exe Edit: Sorry had to point out file structure differences to anyone that might not have computer experience.

Confirmed. Looks to me they have not finished replacing all the lost links.

Yep I can confirm a rollback, approx 12 hours or so, My PW had Leveled 2CL's, 1EL, and 2TL before i logged off last night, now its all lost. No big deal just annoying.

Shouldnt the server be set to start back up on its own if there is a crash?

I actually love this idea, but one problem I see with it. Drops. If anyone can just go up to a "Raid" Terminal then whats to say the Loot they drop wont become common. I would add in a code that makes it say 5% that you would get the uber loot. The 5% might even be too much especially if everyone can make this Boss spawn with price. Drops obviously would be a given but as far as the major loot it has to become extremely rare. The Idea has merit.

I actually think its deeper than just getting skills working. You remember the server problems we had last week or so? I think that all their effort is going into server stability and finding out what works and what does not for the server. Just remember this is essentially a test server and is not exactly live yet. Give them time and they will bring out the game better than anything EA ever did. I do however apologize to you for singling out just you and attempted to reword it in my second comment. Just give them time and have patience. I know ya want a finished game and everything but remember they are not getting paid to do this. Just keep throwing out Ideas, They will get to them eventually and they do read everything.

Haha I was in the middle of getting my fix, then they shut it down. Oh well ya I hope that it wont be as bad, im sure they have it under control.

So my last comment was rude? How was it rude? Explain. All I was doing is pointing out that people need to be nicer in the way they phrase their complaints. Seriously If you were a DEV would you like people complaining all the time or giving their Ideas on how to make it better? I choose Ideas.

No clue, when they told everyone they were shutting the server down the GM said it would be around 15 minutes...... Its been over an hour, so I assume that they are having some major issues getting the server started.

"Shrug" Im not just pointing out you. Im pointing out everyone thats rude to the Dev's. Seriously I see this all the time, people expect it to be this way, or that way, but to be honest do you think they get paid a dime to do this? No. So why be rude to them? Ive never understood the 10 year old syndrom of I want this and I want it now. Common take a chill pill and enjoy what you have now. They dont get paid and they are still working on this game. Do you know Coding? Do you contribute countless hours working on this project? Common,use common sense and be nice not rude. Rephrase your words and give some thought to what you would like to see happen. Maybe one of your ideas will be put into the game.

O.o It may "Suck" or "Favorite Word Here" but I think ya could have thought out your "complaint" in a nicer way. Im not being rude but If I was a Dev and I saw this I probably would take offense to the way you worded it. I would have said something like: "Hey guys your version of the Fishbowl has a few problems that I think you need to address. Here is a List of what might work better:" 1."Your Idea" 2."Your Idea" Sorry Im tired and I think people can word things a tad better to people that are working so hard at bringing back our beloved game. You may be right and their idea might not work but being rude about it just is not nice.

There is a patch being applied right now on the servers, try back in about 10-15 min. The patch process should resolve itself after they finish up.

Ya, they said there was a patch being applied before the server went down, however the GM said it would only be down approximately 15 min.......... Its been way longer than that so im assuming they are having conflicts.

Tienbau I dont know if anyone else has this problem but clicking local cert does not work for me. I get an error every time Ive tried to use it. Here is the error in the Net7Proxy.exe Dos Window: Connecting to Authentication Server on 127.0.0.1:443 SSL_CTX_use_PrivateKey_file failed I run my game without this checked because if I do use it the game either drops at the Megan screen or locks up/crashes to desktop in game. Never been able to fix this, Ive tried to reinstall the Net7 files via deleting the folder and using a fresh copy. I run the game without it just fine, and I used the host editing "Fix" plus the addition in the server drop down menu in the client Launcher -> 87.106.15.67 For some reason with this "Fix" the game runs smoother and without the lag I was experiencing before the forum server crash.

I love this idea, and I wouldnt think it would take too much coding and work to implement. Of course till the game goes live im sure that this cannot be a primary objective due to all the other things in the game need to be working right first, but after live I would look forward to seeing this or something similar added to the game.

To be honest I couldnt tell you what your problem is, however I looked up your graphics card and it is in the 32-64 meg range. Minimum system requirements are within spec's. It is possible that your graphics card does not support the shader version that the game requires. I couldnt get very much info on your graphics system so its possible this is the issue. It is also possible you need to update DirectX. One other issue could be your Net frame work software is out of date too. You can update this on Microsoft update, there is a new version 3 (or was it 4?) out that might fix this problem. Other than these issues i listed above im shooting in the dark and really stumped. Can you list any other newer MMO's that will run on this computer? Everquest, Starwars Galaxies, Eve Online, or Other? Also Refer to my previous post. Have you tried this? ^^^^

Ok can you list your exact system specs? Mine is 2.3 ghz 500 meg ram 64 meg graphics page file 1 gig Also have your tried to goto the LaunchNet7 folder deleted it and reinstalled? Should be under C:\NET7.

Try this, I too run XP, I had major latency issues and crashes, still do sometimes but I think its my computer. 1).Launch Net7 Launcher. Click on either the Packet Optimization or Prototype Reorder. I recommend the Prototype Reorder. 2).Click "Play" on the LaunchNet7 client after all updates and it will come up with 2 windows. One is the Dos window Netproxy. (Netproxy.exe) Second is a EULA agreement. (Client.exe) 3).Dont click Agree yet. 4).Hit the keys (CTRL+ALT+DEL) Now it will bring up the Windows Task Bar. Make sure the Two boxes are still there (Netproxy Dos Box and EULA Window) or this wont work. 5).Now in Windows Task Bar click the tab Processes. Now this window should show all the programs that your computer is currently running with the processor % and Memory usage. 6).Click on Image Name Tab in the Processes menu. This should alphabetically sort the list of programs from A to Z. If it does not sort from A to Z click it again. 7).Now under the list of programs find Client.exe and Netproxy.exe. Right click on Client.exe and a drop down menu should show up with: End Process, End Process Tree, and Set Priority. 8).Hover the mouse pointer over Set Priority. A drop down menu should appear with the words Realtime, High, Above Normal, Normal, Below Normal, and Low. For Client.exe click on Above Normal. 9).Repeat step 8 for Netproxy.exe with one change. Hover mouse over Priority then select High. 10).Once you have finished these steps close out the Windows task manager by clicking on the X button then click on the EULA game window. Click Agree, game should start up and you should be able to log in and play with no problems. Hope this clears up your problems and perhaps other peoples problems. Do not know if this will work on anything but XP. One problem arises with this "Fix" is you have to do this every time you start the game. I found this workaround by accident and cannot guarantee it will work for anyone else.
