Windows 7 And Enb

Recommended Posts

so I recently got back into gaming on the EnB Emulator. however whenever I start up my launcher, it loads normally, updating and patching, updating the client. etc.

On the first launch fresh from the installation completion, I run the game fine. shooting a zenshai here and there or a chavez in odin's belt.

on the second launch, my game crashes as soon as I log into my account.

so I begin to troubleshoot the problem, following the styeps Kyp set up in the forum in the FAQ's.

Then.

I start up the launcher, click play and.... nothing. not even the End User Agreement page where you click the "I Agree" to launch the game doesn't even pop up, I just see the avatar selection icon next to where my time is on the taskbar where the start button is. I tried launching different ones with packet optimization checked, prototype recording... and still nothing. just more of the same icon and after an hour saying that the game crashed due to APPFAILURE.

not seen that one before. Go down to the task tray though, make sure the net7proxy icon (kinda looks like a little grey feather standing upright) is not still running.

Im running Win7 on my PC and laptop. The only issues I have run into were caused by me having Norton isstalled. Each ENB patch i have to go into norton and tell it ENB is safe to run. of coruse it happens on my XP pc with Norton also. :(

I've even truned Notron off at times so i could play....

Well, don't see the grey feather looking thing in my task tray... all I see is the light blue person looking thing that is dubbed as Login.

and nothing. no emulation

Above is the image on the first launch after deleting the files and folders in the install directory and REINSTALLING them in the SAME directory. Registery 64 was also activated to add the data to the registery. and follwed installation guide. but still nothing. the login image shows up and after 5 minutes, Windows forcefully closes it due to application failure.

I've never tried to install it to a non-standard directory. Perhaps that is relevant. Do you just not want things on your C Drive? All I could suggest would be perhaps on a weekend I could try looking at it via teamviewer, or perhaps someone else who has installed it to a personalized directory can offer some advice.

Or perhaps a shot of what this appfailure message says.

I'll try reinstalling it on the standard directory. maybe it's just Windows 7 that can't handle a nonstandard directory install

  • 2 weeks later...
Anyone help with this one? I recently re-installed the Net7 Launcher under Win7 x64. It has always worked fine but when I tried to use it today, the launcer window remained invisible and I was unable to access it with Alt + Tab, etc. So, I re-installed. Same thing...

I did make sure I am running as administrator, etc.

Any ideas?

UPDATED:

Well, it was my virus software (avast) thinking that some of the updating was suspicious. I told avast it was not and everything works now. I hope it wasn't suspicious!

Yes, it does that, also in addition to that when you have a window stuck minimized its a problem related to the shortcut file itself, go to the .exe in the installed folder and make a new shortcut. I'm not sure what causes it but I've seen our Launcher and some of our tools do it in the past.
