  1. I think instancing the bosses would be better. Multiple copies of the same zone. Not sure how it would work in this game, if there would be a set number of copies or if it would be dynamic. Probably locking someone to an instance would be good also so u couldn't kill the same boss in all the copies of the zone in a row. I know that in live the starter zones did have multiple copies in the beginning when population was high in those zones.
  2. I thought it would remember if it was on or off after logout. Maybe its a global setting across all characters.
  3. The change to the ore fields that went in over the weekend is really unacceptable. we understand there was a lot of ore out there, but that made playing a miner fun. Now with so few asteroids, you are making it a necessity to run jobs for explore exp. Which is extraordinarliy boring, (probably additional missions need to be added to bridge the explore gap, but that is another topic). Also mining for 10 roids in a field is not fun either when it used to be 50. I agree that you can take out the uber fields like shadow point and redemption but the main fields need to stay. The large "unclearable" fields are actually good imo. It is not gamebreaking in the least, especially as you know beforehand you probably wont be able to clear it in time to get a bonus. That being said it encourages group mining as Jam pointed out. Mining is supposed to be fun, and it isn't after this change. I have 2 main toon that are explorers and I really was enjoying the mining aspect as it was. And yes AFK macroers need to be banned, but please make sure they are macroing and not just sitting there AFK doing nothing. I will often leave a toon out in a field if I am alt tabbed to another toon. But it is idle and not macroing. Macroing is cheating and not allowed. --Nimue
  4. I agree afk miners are bad and should be punished. we can't hurt the active players though. Explorers depend on mining for their levelling exp. Without a way to get explore exp after completing the navs other than jobs, mining is an important part of the game. I understand taking away areas like shadow point and redemption, but the regular fields need to be put back.
  5. So I went to go mining to level my explorer tonight but it seems like 90% of the asteroids are gone. I went to about 10 regular fields and each had only about 5-10 asteroids instead of the usual number. Even checked the famous gas coulds in glenn and there were absolutely 0 clouds instead of the hundreds normally there. Hulks didn't seem to be affected, but I need some ore. I hope this is a bug.
  6. It's true. The game is playable and is good. You can use the disk to install or download it. register on the net 7 site. all the download instructions are there. Welcome back.
  7. More NPC missions so that explore levelling is not such a job grind. Fix spawn points so mobs aren't migrating in from the sector edge.
  8. This is definitely true. I have been levelling a toon in mars killing missile drones. wWere the first one used to respawn at the nav just as I was killing the last one, now I have to wait several minutes for mobs to come back to the area. I have actually seen them all migrate in in a line from far away. Samething happened when I moved to getco Drones in earth. Also noticed the decreased respawn in VG fighting osterae at seeding and harves and in VC fighting zenshai at peril. Would be good to change the spawn points back to the appropriate nav since the effective long spawn timers really ruin hunting, esp in a game where grinding is the main means to level.
  9. Thank you dreadnaught for testing this. I believe the code for turbo has been changed to the live method. Where 100% turbo makes your weapons reload twice as fast. As you get more turbo your dps increases in a linear fashion. 40% turbo gives you 140% damage overall. (1.4x base dps) 80% turbo gives you 180 damage and 100% turbo gives you double damage. the reload time decreases in a logarithmic curve but the damage increase is linear. (In the very beginning of live, as Lot pointed out, turbo was directly related to cutting the reload time itself by the amount so 100% turbo gave you infinite DPS since your reload time was essentially zero. The reload time decreases linearly but exponentially increases damage. If turbo worked this way, stacking turbo would exponentially increase your dps and is obviously overpowered.) I have tried to do similar experiments with the hellbore missile launcher (reload 22.2s) and looking at the reload time after it fires. Unfortunately this rounds off to the nearest second. Using 40% turbo (HB + wrath) reload is 15s Using 80% turbo (HB + wrath + caster) reload is 12s (this is rounded off) Using 100% turbo (HB + wrath + caster + PB) reload still appears as 12s (if this is this 11.1 rounded off I don't know) So agreed we need testing over damaging a mob, possibly, or better yet a dev to confirm the actuall stacking effect.
  10. Mob spawn rate still seems to be extremely slow or non-existant in some areas. I killed some missile drone in mars and they still hadn't respawned after 30 mins. couldnt find any mobs in the rest of the sector after that either and also none in earth.
  11. As soon as i login or dock the opcode happens, can't even access a terminal. Don't even get the guild message of the day, chat doesn't work, etc.
  12. When I try to login any of my characters in a station I get an immediate bad opcode, the game locks up and have to close the game. relogging doesn't help. If I exit the station the game will freeze on the loading screen and when I relog outside the station I can play. As soon as I redock, the bad opcode crash happens immediately again. This started happening after the server reset on 10/31/10
  13. Hi Mike, I was in Leviathan also on Orion, which was your toon?
  14. server still down. is anyone monitoring it? shouldn't take so long to restart
  15. I have been running the game fine in 800x600 for the last 3 months, but didn't realize how to get the higher screen resolution to stick after running enbconfig until today when someone mentioned it in game. So I tried adjusting my game resolution today. I am using Win 7 with a i7-920 running dual ATI 4870 in crossfire X I ran enbconig as admin. Changed the resolution to 1920x1200. Ran the test. Clicked ok. Loaded net 7 launcher as admin and got to login screen normally and it was displaying at the high res. Logged in and as soon as I hit enter after putting in the password the game closed to the desktop. Went back and did it for all the other available resoultions with the same result. Did a search on the forums which recommended running Net 7 launcher in Win XP SP2 compatability mode. Did that as well and the game still closes. Set the resolution back to 800x600. Game runs no problem. Any ideas on getting it to run properly at higher resolution?
