  1. Hi, Looks like the server login may need some attention following the weekley restart routine, as its been over an hour since it was initiated. The Web/TS/DB services are fine though. I/We (GM's) have not been made aware of any extented maintenance that was due at this time either.

  3. Hi Blackace, Yes this and several other mobs in the game have cloak/combat cloak abilities.....what ever a player can do on an avatar expect some mobs to be able to do as well! ? All the best, Yeti[GM]

Hi Luke, Have you tried to disabling any AntiVirus protection your running and make sure you have nothing else open including a web browser when you do it and see if you can run EnB and report back after (Please ensure you re-enable your AV after test to keep you safe!) ...if you can then its something in your AV software preventing you accessing EnB if not I'll have another think.   6. Hi LukeSBE, I think in this instance a reinstall would be the wisest course of action, the only change of late (6th Jan 2023) has been a client update of the proxy software client. Prior to this date I am not aware of any changes other than a guild decal which would not effect your login ability at all. If you use Avast as yoru AV protection please set the "Cyber Capture" setting to that as shown below: All the best, Yeti[GM]

  8. Yeah I just had to change the "Cyber Capture" seting in Avast to do not auto send files and it all works fine ?

  10. Unfortunatley since I do not have the server side info (Dev level stuff access/knowledge) it will not mean that much to me but one of the Dev's may be able to make sense of it for you. Hower rather than posting it in plain your better off zipping it and password protecting it and then PM the password to the dev that may respond. We are not aware of any issues at this time as the server was rebooted only 12.5 hours ago to adress a connection issues all were effected by. The server is scheduled for another weekley restart at 12:30GMT approx so you might want to wait and see if the issue clears before posting the info. All the best, Yeti[GM]

  13. Atm I have 5 Game accounts in-game and the GM-Chat tool but as soon as I try a 6th it locks up on the map screen following login.

Hi All, I am aware that there maybe issues with the server however I need feed back as I know my ISP is doing work my end so need some idea of howmany are being effected...... yes it could be on outage on the internet but nothing has been shown on thousandeyes.com/outages .     Hi LukeSBE, I see from my in-game and out of game tools your in-game now but was asking about lag, someome suggested you re-log so you did and that seemed have resloved your lagginging issue. One question I do have is do you have all 4 check boxes checked on the client launcher as shown below? If not please enable them as this will reduce most gate/docking diconnects/lagging. Other in-game options you can try when lagging is to type the following: /delag 100 enables all the delag switches or /packetopt 1400 /packetopt 1400 This will set the UDP packet size to 1400 All the best, Yeti[GM]

Their removal was unintentional and was due to the server restart to combat the inability of players to login/dock or gate amongst orther issues as soon as it was realised a request was issued to the Dev's for their re-enstatement for the next scheduled server restart on Tuesday the 3rd 2023. However; until we receive notification this is not a guaranteed date, we would ask ALL players with any christmas mission items to hold on to them and not destroy/dispose of them until we have clarified when the missions will be re-enstated. This information has been made available to the player base in-game by Woodstock and myself since Wedensday 28th 2022. Hi Zack/Kpy, It appears we have lost connection with the server and the client is showing it as offline at this time.... those in game seem ok but cannot gate/dock without loosing connection and ppl can not login at all. Any chance of a restart? Server connectivity on EnBNotifier was last seen at 04:15:38 All the best, Yeti

  20. Hi Johhnbb, An excellent suggestion however; not all network adapters support this feature especially the lower end onboard ones. On my ASUS x99 mb it does and the default is set to 256 (which is fine for most cases) since I have inexcess of 32Gb Ram buffreing is not an issue and yet I too suffer from similar issues just like you guys. Out of curiosity I have increasted mine to 1024 (4x the default for it) just to see if it makes any difference. As of this reponse the server has been restarted some 5.5hrs ago so there should be minimal issues however I am seeing already 6 "ghosted connections" of the 90 avatars listed as active which is not normal following a restart. I will keep you posted of my findings though. All the best, Yeti(GM)

Hi Blackace, I can see from your location(IP) your ISP is Comcast, they have and are still having network issues at Little Rock Arkansas in addition there are network issues in Atlanta Georgia on the NTT America Inc Network and the Cogent Comms Network. I persoanally check www.thousandeyes.com/outages for any networking issues the may be effecting the internet, should you see a RED digit it indicates network issues. Should you see any near or close to Florida than there is a good chance its effecting server access by connecting ISP's. Usually having "odd" or "strange" effects/locations is due to UDP packetsto/from the server being dropped by routers somewhere along the route to/from the server resulting in these phenomena.It is not something we have control over as the original game was hard coded to UDP not TCP/IP connection oriented comms. Once these Network issues have settled down in the core I am sure that normal access will be resumed and enable normal play of EnB. All the best, Yeti[GM]
  22. Hi Meep/Leada, For the past few days there have been excessive network disruptions on the core ISP routes that have been effecting most players ability to login or stay connected. I persoanally check www.thousandeyes.com/outages for any networking issues the may be effecting the internet, should you see a RED digit it indicates network issues. Should you see any near or close to Florida than there is a good chance its effecting server access by connecting ISP's. Today I have managed to be connected since 13:38pm GMT untill now 16:23pm without any issues at all, however a couple of people NW of Florida have reported issues with connections/drops etc. I can only assume that you are located on/or near/or your ISP transitions through one or more of the effected network ISP interfaces over which I/we at Net-7 have no control. As such there is nothing we as GM's can do at this time to aleviate the issue, I apologise for this as I/we would love to be able to resolve it but its beyond our control.

What has not been pointed out thus far is that as part of the Agreement with EA to facilitate Net-7 to produce and use the EnBDemo.exe and all the ingame related items as provided in the demo we(Net-7) are not allowed to change/alter the "core" off the game or its original features. Sadly whilst it would be an excellent idea to do either of your suggestions, due to what is stated previoulsy they cannot. Thus its a mute point as with most QoL suggestions posts in the forum.
  24. Hi Pinhas, May I enquire as to which browser you are using? I use Firefox and the download works fine and the file is not corrupt, I've also just tested it on MS-Edge browser and the files fine. If a pop-up comes from file-planet just ignore and close it do not accept it its an old EA thing, the file should download right after that. All the best, Yeti[GM]
  25. Hi dcruse2, I am sorry to hear of your experience and that you think that the game is too hard/extreme for a new player. I will explain the origins of this Emulator of Earth and Beyond: Originally a WestWood Studios creation on behalf of EA Games who subsequently bought out WestWood Studios and eventuall closed the game down in 2004 (Sunset). The founder of Net-7.org took it upon themselves to approach EA and sought an agreemet to allow them to "Emulate" the game and thus the EMU Earth and Beyond was born in 2005. The Net-7 that you see to day is a "Not for Profit" organisation and is funed solely by donations as per the agreement reached with EA to allow then to use the enbdemo.exe as the base. Following many years of pains taking development the and testing a stable system was created in 2009/10 (I'm sure someone will correct me on this if wrong.) The staff (Admin/GM's and Dev's) are all volunteers and not paid a cent/penney/shekle and do it for the love of the game, and as such you will not see teh level of support or development taht one would expect IF you paid a subscription. With that out of the way, the the game UI and initial missions is set in stone and we cannot change what was in the original mission lines created by WestWood/EA as part of the agreement, thus you are playing a game thats 20+ years old and the thought path then was to challenge your grey cells and make you interact with other players (MMO basics rather than a solo player game.) That said you can play solo but life is alot harder, if one was to ask in New Player chat for help many of the players would jump at the chance to aid you so you can continue your journey through the game (Note the player bas is a small comunity so is very helpful most of teh time- you will get the odd sarcastic remark though.) Since you have chose a Progen Sentinel which is part of the Progen race - a warrior clone race that thrives on adversity,hardship and live for battle and have the largest hulls of the three races. The virix invaded their homeworld where the shipyards were located in Primus (thus initially this was not a problem for new plays) but since the invasion things have gotten more complicated as the storyline unfolded. If you had chosen a Terran or Jenquai class character life would have been so much easier, sadly you are a Progen Sentinel and as that race you need to "Buck up and take it on the chin," as they say unlike the wussy terrans and Jenquai. Now that you have somewhat of an understanding of why you as a Progen have to traverse several sectors to get your hull upgrade perhaps you will give the class/character another go and interact with the community who will help you beyond your dreams trust me they are a great bunch. I do look forward to seeing you back in game and should you have issues please ask for GM help in New Player chat, if there is a GM online they will respond unless they are afk for some reason - remember we are voulenteers so be patient.)
