  1.  I think it is inaccurate to say that the two primary ways to make credits was via prospecting over the long haul.    I should of been more clear and stated the primary way to make credits from mining was ..... I wasn't saying that was the only way to make credits, we were specifically talking about mining & refining.   Please don't be so literal and read into things though :) Obviously other loot is another means to make credits, but you don't focus on that if you are primary mining :) Additionally the JE is also one the most played class, so that statement about miners is incorrect.   If you want to know the prices of ores then look in the prima guide, that is what we used. Prices of items are also calculated properly from ores now, so as I said item prices that use ores to make components will also be affected.
  2. Hmm this is excellent I love all the information here. Perhaps I can address this in the specializations I am doing for the classes.   I may not be able to change the class and add more skills per say, but I could achieve results with specific unique items. Seems like the Jenquai Trader, Terran Explorer, and Progen Sent need some love and alot more to contribute. I'll pay close attention to those classes as I finish this up.
  3. Just to clear up some confusion these have been changed on the DEV server. We are still making sure everything works properly. Assuming everything goes well this should be pushed out in the next patch. Sorry if it sounded like this was already live.   Also Daath regarding your comment, I didn't mean there was a vendor, sorry. I was referring to the cost of making components with ores. Also selling to vendors as well.   These were the primary credit makers. 1: Using low cost ores to make very high profit items 2: Selling very overpriced ores to vendors.   The changes to the ore reduce the effect of both the above by both increasing and lowering prices to be evened out. Profit from both building and mining should be more consistent. Miners should actually see their profits increase since alot of ores were priced low, some extremely low.   Hope that makes more sense :)

  5. Made alot of changes and updates on this. I have the traders and explores classes planned out as well now. I am working on getting the actual items in-game now. Each level spec will be given the appropriate level items after the quest. I am not sure if I can force a quest to skip based on level, but will see what I can do.
  6. Let me clear something up for you.   I Just recently finished up changing the prices on EVERY ORE in the game to be in line with what is in the prima guide. So with that the prices of everything else will change as well.   The ores that were worth nothing will not be worth more then the ones who had greatly inflated values. People will find that out real quick when they try and use their old favorites and find the prices have changed greatly.   Overall the prices of things have increased.   Some people were using lv 9 ores that went for 25K to make asburd profits from items selling in the millions. Well now those ores are about 5x more costly.  Average price for lv 9 ore is now about 113K.   Likewise the ores that used to go for 450K a pop now are back down to 113k or close to. So the people who used to go after the most profitable ores will find it harder.   It is now VERY good to loot ALL ores because overall it will generate more profit per run as the prices have been evened out. This should also help reduce cherry pickers as there is really no incentive to it anymore.   As far as your macro goes, yes, they are possible, but something I have found out that if you watch logs and patterns there is one thing you can do. If the players can bot macros and runs, then we should be able to make automatic tests, yes?   If they don't pass the test then their engines get killed until they respond. I don't care what macro you have, if you don't have any engines you aren't doing anything. This of course will only affect those who are cheating the system.   I'm extremely proficient at macro making myself and I can macro with the best of them. I can also find counters to that as well if people are abusing it. It's all about how you do it.   These are just ideas mind you, but don't make it out like we can't do anything, because we can. We are also working on fixing alot of issues and making the game more fun. It just takes time as changes take awhile to do.   Thanks for the info about ACTool, I'll look into that as I have not used it.

  9. I find it interesting that people talk about getting involved in the community, yet I can be on for 6 hours + and barely see anyone even talk in chat. All I see is constant people logging in and out. If people are communicating it certainly isn't through the normal chat. A silent chat gives the feeling of a pretty dead community and the feeling of being very alone on a server. If everyone is only talking through guild chat, then that's very isolated as well.
  10. Several changes to weapons to balance better, all additional dmg removed and replaced with other effects. Gunslinger has slow weapons to match other dps classes Sharpshooter now gets energy conservation Assassin now reduces enemy damage Cannoneer now slows down enemy speed
  11. Seeing two sides fight here I would like to see what the actual rotations for the big 3 are? As in actual days.   1) B/I 2) static 3)VGE   My question would be, are you leaving room for someone else to get it. If not then it would be pretty plain the big 3 are hogging the raids. If they ARE leaving room then it's the other people's fault for not going after it at those times.

  13. Excellent points by all, especially Liucee. He summed up my points I was trying to make earlier.   The plain fact is the big guilds are very snobbish by nature. I've watched the chat, I've talked to them myself. Anyone not meeting XXX criteria they don't want, period.   We need more stuff for the little guys or be able to get them into the bigger stuff. You can't design a game for only the top 5% because a game will fail that way.
  14. Instead of increasing the others damage, I have removed the bonus damage from the others. It will probably work out better that way,  
  15. Keith, a couple of points here:   If a device is not consumed after use, then it is by very definition a resuable device, UNLESS you cannot use it again. Then it would be a one time use.  He clearly says: "and deteriorate with time and or useage"  Meaning more then one use.   --------------------------------------------------------- "I could not disagree more.  It goes without saying you cannot increase an item's quality beyond its intended max." ---------------------------------------------------------   That is actually not true.  All items could potentially become 200%.  I can easily create an weapon that is "100%" on live and make it 200% and the damage and effects would increase according.  Pick ANY item with effects and I will show you a 100% and a 200% example.   --------------------------------------------------------- "Again I disagree.  Blacklung said "It will be 100% quality when purchased (expect it to be very expensive)" puchased means (to me) that it is accessible to *all*. " ---------------------------------------------------------   Except for the "(expect it to be very expensive)" part.  Not everyone on the server has been here for a long time nor has a vault full of credits.  My family members play and not one has hit the million marker yet for credits, not even I have on live. If you actually look a large majority of players are considered very poor by the top end players who have millions if not billions of credits.  If we use the billionaires as standard for pricing, what others can afford an item for 100M Mill?  If we price it at 1 Million, that's pocket change to a Billionaire.
  16. Just because someone can do something doesn't mean they always should. I just said we would work out a solution and listed a couple of examples.   We'll work on fixing problems, not catering to whims. Your request to spawn them right at this moment is rather selfish don't you think.   Look I'll send a PM to the other DEV's and start a discussion on this alright. For now just calm down because it WILL be addressed.

Liucee,   And the devices used for Call Forward.. those are used up when ANOTHER player executes a command.. can't be that hard to retool that, is it?   Again that involves another process in the mix.  It's not the item destroying itself. Trust me when you have to re-code how an engine works, its hard. I take it you have never wrote a major program where a simple ; can break 1 million lines of code. :)   Terrell,   The quality issue is going to be moot since with the trader specialization items you get a massive boost to build and analyze. It was a common complaint that it's harder to get good quality on lower items until higher skill levels when they are useless. That is designed to remedy that problem.   So basically if things go according to plan instead of only have 2 skill in build weapons, with the trade spec items you will have 4 or even 5. That will essentially net you a 200% on the lower items that you can use AT your level. It makes the trader much more viable.
  18. I'm certain we can find a solution for the raid timers, those spawn timers can be changed after all. Thank you for also clarifying how it impacts Jamoos.   I can perfectly understand he is mad about potentially missing out.   Also a GM could also spawn the mobs if it came to that. We'll make it work, trust me. We do care about the player base and won't just leave you guys hanging :)

ME - Patches only last generally a half hour. (When is the last time it took several hours and was down all weekend?)(Can you provide an example?) YOU - last time it was down was again 90 min and i know there have been times when it was more then that. ME - I asked for an example YOU - You provide an example of a server crash during an event that has nothing to do with patches. Your statement about the big three is circular (so the new patch time does not affect them now, even though you claimed it would)   - "But for the 3 big raids they are now screwed" - I guess they are not so screwed after all now.   You are now talking about Blackbeard, Controller, and RD Bade.  However you stated when these happen you are actually asleep. The only time you apparently have to do these three are during Sat and Sunday, at approx 1PM GMT (Which is  6AM PT, 9AM ET and most US aren't playing)   So the only one who are really doing these raids are EU people since again, most US people are not going to be raiding that time in the morning. It won't happen on Sunday morning either as most of the US goes to church on Sunday morning.   So based on the above, it has very little to nothing to do about collaborating with US people to do raids and more about EU people themselves being miffed about the time since US people really don't care at that time.     So basically you have 8AM - 11pm EU or so to do raids and the ONLY possible time you can do it is during patch time, 1PM GMT (So you can include US people) (which also is when most US people are asleep) and it's prime time during EU.   Does that about sum it up?    Let me be straight with you, I used to help with professional interrogation with law enforcement. It was my job to dissect what people said, chew it up, and spit it out in all it's pieces to show just how it looked. As people tried to change those pieces it just got worse and worse.    I suggest you quit while you are ahead, you are just digging your hole deeper and deeper.
  20. Jamoos,   Your response is rather lacking in factual detail, rather it is laced with an selfish emotional tirade. You claim "last time is was down 90 minutes".   Give a date or it didn't happen. If you claim something you better have the data to back it up.   How exactly are the big 3 raids screwed now? There are major flaws in your argument.     1: "what makes it realy hard to do raids because when most of the players (mostly US) are done with work and had dinner its between 11PM and 1 AM EU time. then i would say do patch day on the sunday so we got atleast the saterday to raid togather."   This is a Saturday and most US people don't work on Sat, the same with EU people.  What you said makes no sense.  If they aren't working then they won't be getting done with work and dinner between 11pm-1AM EU time now will they.  You have all day Sat to raid with them.   2: You claim you work with US players and do raids around 11pm - 1AM EU time. Patch time is 3pm EU time. You are doing raids 8-11 hours LATER then the patch time. How exactly is the patch time affecting your raids? Also how exactly would changing this to Sunday fix your problem with the time zone and raids?   You have yet to provide one good example of WHY it causes major problems for EU players at 3pm. I expect a better argument next time.
  21. My understanding is they don't function as such, I will check though. If we actually can do consumables then that would work better, but I have not seen a way to do it.   For example the Oni is required to summon the Zenri Guardian Tempest at the Continuum Wrinkle and serves more like a mission trigger then a consumable.  That's far different then using it as a buff.   Also with your example of the terminal, that is "used" in the process of another script and is summarily removed in the process.   What we would need is for the server to recognize the item has been used without any attached scripts and then completely remove it from the game. However there is no current way to do that.  As mentioned above both are used in another process.    Only way I can think around this is to use a one time activate-able that the players then destroys or sells after use. Does that make a bit more sense?

Hmm good ideas here.   I agree the raid loot is imbalanced as it stands with only a few controlling it.   However I can say that with the new specialization items coming out people are going to have a much better chance of getting those raid items while having good items themselves.  The only people who will cry about that are the "elite" who want to keep a lock on the raids.  I can assure you the locks will be broken.   Anytime you have a small minority controlling the end game content it causes all sorts of problems and makes the ones who would like to do it eventually quit because they can never do it.  This greatly impacts the game and eventually the elite get bored and leave and there is no one to replace them.  It's a death spiral.  This is one situation that needs a good swift kick otherwise problems only get worse.  I've seen it time and time again.

Just want to note a number of examples here are actually consumables, not an actual reusable device.   Stuff like XP boosts, wormholes, and the quality things would not be feasible in a reusable device because it would both be exploited and unbalanced. Also a 25% quality boost to non-manf items would unbalance things quite a bit along with any skills on that device because they would also be increased. Especially for things like weapons that increases the damage they do.   If we were to try and replace consumable credit sinks with a reusable item then it would have to be amazingly expensive because people will not buy it as often as one time use items.  That would also put it out of range for most except the hardcore and the big 3.  The more expensive the item the fewer that get it.  That would be catering to ONLY the upper 1% and ignoring the needs of the 99%.     Also things like making trade runs real quick would also further increase the xp gap between combat, explore, and trade. Currently most everyone does trade runs for exp, this would increase that even more and make the other two forms moot.
  24. I just want to comment on this as I think many have over reacted. Lets start with some facts here.   1: Zack lives in Germany so lets set this straight RIGHT NOW. 2: Patches only last generally a half hour.  (When is the last time it took several hours and was down all weekend?)   (Can you provide an example?) 3: Time zones: 1PM GMT = 6AM PT, 9AM ET, 3PM Germany time. 4: Current patch time affects Americans during prime time.   Now looking at the above facts here lets be reasonable.     1: Very few from the US will even be on at that time.   2: On the EURO side players will have had almost EIGHT HOURS of game time since 8am. 3: If you can't wait 30 minutes or so after all that time you had to play, you need some patience. 4: It works better for the dev team this way. 5: Are you telling me you can ONLY do raids starting at 3pm on Sat? (Many of you brag a raid lasts 30 minutes)   With the CURRENT patch schedule, us YANKS as you call us, Ranko, are the ones getting hit during prime time. How long has this current patch schedule 8PM GMT been in place hmmm? That is prime time here and 10PM in Germany. Believe it or not a lot of people here get off about patch time and have to wait, myself included.   Are EURO affected by the current patch schedule? No, they are not because most of getting ready for bed due to it being a work day.   So with that do you really want to argue? I'm all up for a good debate, I love to fight. Take a look at all your complaints and then look at the facts. You're making a mountain out of a molehill.
  25. So you've reached 150!  Congrats on the major milestone. Now whats next?  That's where you come in!   Give us your ideas for raids. Keep it realistic please. I also ask that you keep it short and sweet, a general overview with some guidelines / rewards. We'll certainly contact you for more details if it's something we look at making.   I also have ideas for "individual arcs" that you will be able to do solo. Please feel free to add anything for those as well.
