Kangaroo has failed to realize that even though he mentions the word Beta in his posts multiple times, we are not in Beta, we are not even in Alpha. We are still in the development stage and stress tests are needed. So player wipes will be not as frequent but they will still be there. Most of you know me as Karn [Dev] in-game and I will be fixing the graphical bugs along with our graphical team who are all top notch. So here is a little advice for Kangaroo coming from someone who has some knowledge of what is happening behind the scenes, this is just part of life in a video game test environment, get used to it. There are a multitude of MMOs out there you can play, that will have the stability your looking for. May I recommend Hello Kitty Online. Have you restarted your system and also have you done a Force update on your N7 patcher? Let me know if this helps.

I started a new thread the top letting people know that the Login server is currently down. Soon as our DEVs check it out it should be a very quick restart.

Yes they are called download managers. Check Google there are lots of them out there and they are free. Also have you tried using the torrent file we have on the forum? The torrent automatically checks every single byte that is downloaded to make sure it corresponds with the given hash. So you get a non-corrupted file every time. Let us know what happens. Have you tried forcing the updates? Sometimes not all the updates come down and maybe your missing a file. To do that go up to the help box on the top right and click it. Then click advanced. You will see a huge button that says "Force Update." Click that and then shutdown the patcher, then re-open it and make sure you give it admin privileges when you do. It will start to re-patch everything. Just keep clicking the update button after you re-open the application. I hope this helps. Let us know what happened after you did this new procedure. First off this game does not run in 64-bit. So you will need to make sure you run this game in windows XP compatibility Mode 32-bit. Second make sure you run the EnB config and the Net-7 config, can be found here: C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Earth & Beyond\EBCONFIG Net-7config.exe. Also anytime you do something in this game make sure you also give it full admin privileges. Try this and also run a chkdsk too that will sometimes clear up problems. Let us know how you did and what errors your getting in response to this new procedure. Good Luck.

Try this: 1. There are 2 configurations. One is the EnB one. The other is the Net-7 one that you can find in: C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Earth & Beyond\EBCONFIG it is called net-7config.exe. You will need to start them with admin privileges, so right click and you will see the option. 2. Set the net-7 application to Windows XP compatibility mode 32-bit. This is the application that starts the game that is placed on your desktop after you install. If you do these 2 things 99% of your video problems will be fixed along with a host of others you may not yet know about. Hehehe Let us know how it turns out.

Well at this stage of the server no one should be macroing at all. You all should be looking out for bugs or issues. If you are macroing and not there then you are missing out on bugs or issues and whatnot. I am against macroing to be honest, dual boxing is fine since you are playing both at the same time. But like I said, no one should be macroing right now since you all need to be doing a job and helping to find bugs and whatnot. How can you do that if your not there testing the game. But why play a game and not enjoy it by making the bothersome jobs done by computer, that just doesn't make sense to me. Go play Farmville or something if you want an instant, "I WIN," button or something or "Hello Kitty." My .02 creds.

Awesome Thank You. I started listening to the music and man did it bring back memories. Now if I can only get online which would probably bring back tears at this moment sine it has been 5 very long years since I have had my EnB fix. (not complaining)

Wow thanks for trying all that. I tried a lot of things also including creating my characters through the Character & Starship creator program to no avail either. I happen to agree that this is definitely server side. If anyone knows a workaround or when the DEVs will finish getting the bug repaired, the info would be very much appreciated. Withdrawals from Earth and Beyond for 5 years really sucks, worse then Oxy withdrawals. Thanks for your diligence DEVs. We are behind you 100%. Update~12:30PM PST Tried once again to enter Sunrise with a new character and still getting the same message that the server is unavailable at the moment to try again later. I will try again in a couple of hours to see if it has been resolved. Thanks

No worries, We all want to get online at the moment. I chalk it up as finally being able to scratch a 5 year itch kind of excitement. God I really want to get online, I am so sad, I have been watching the intro movie a lot, and god it is not making it any easier on the waiting.

Whether the DEVs need it or not, it would be nice to have for a regular car CD. So if you would be so kind to add it as a download that would be an awesome addition to my daily drive music. Thanks

So many warm welcomes. Thank you all of you for them. Now if I can only get online to play then my happiness will continue. Unfortunately, at this moment there is an issue with the server that is not allowing new characters to be developed. So when I create the new character it doesn't allow me to enter the game. So soon as this issue is fixed then I can join all of you in-game and finally be able to scratch that 5 year itch that has been called Earth and Beyond.

I checked my installation directory for Net-7 and I can not find the Net-7 Configuration tool. I also checked my start menu, same issue, no configuration tool. Can someone point me in the right direction, I know I am not the only person with this particular issue. Thank You

I already created a post about this issue: https://enb-emulator.com/index.php?/topic/530-character-creation/ The good thing is I spoke to a GM yesterday on teamspeak and he informed me that this is a known issue and the DEV team is actively trying to resolve it with the utmost speed. How cool is that, an instant answer on teamspeak for a problem, where else can you get service like that? So the only thing we can do is be patient (I know it is hard, trust me,) and wait for the DEVs to get on this issue. Welcome Frizy to the EnB Emulator. I know how you feel mate. I have this really bad itch right now to play EnB since I haven't played since sundown. I was literally on till the server disconnect message came on. I think I cried for a day and then was depressed for another year afterwards. To this day I have never ever found another game like EnB and it is maddening to be soooo close but yet so far. I know the Devs are working on the issue, (Bless their hearts,) but god, I really need to see if this works, I really need to have that feeling I have been missing for so many years now. I mean it is like going through life then finding out something has been missing then having the elation of finding it again. So if the Dev team need any help whatsoever from my end please let me know. I have extensive knowledge of Java and can code. I will want to check out the dev tools today after work to see if I can not only play but be a help to this entire project. So dev team we are 100% behind you as a community if you need anything from us the community let us know and we can be there right beside you fighting the good fight against the bugs and the bad decision of Electronic Arts. (Damn you EA for shutting down an awesome game that actually worked and was balanced for something as stupid as the Sims online.) Nice thing though is I have never bought another EA product since their horrid decision to shutdown Earth and Beyond. I have also let other friends know not to support EA in their endeavors. Sorry about going into a rant, but welcome home.

New Update~9:00AM PST Well I tried once again to create a new character and it still seems this part of the game is not functioning. From what I can tell, if you already have a character on the game before this malfunction started, then you can still play the game using your older characters. Another issue that seems to be more prevalent is the "Hull Upgrade Lose a toon after disconnect." Can someone please explain to me about this bug that is happening so when I do get to play I know what to watch out for so I am not losing my toons then not being able to play because of the new creation bug. I just spoke to a Game Master through teamspeak and he had explained to me that the developers are aware of this issue currently. They are working diligently to effect a repair and we should be able to add new characters to the server very shortly. So at this point all we can do is wait and be patient for one of the developers to address the issue. Then we can get back to living the good ol' days of Earth and Beyond.

When I quit I have to recreate a new character since it doesn't even save the character to the server. The exact message I get is, "The galaxy this character resides on is currently unavailable. Please try again later." At that point I try to login a couple more times with the same message appearing. So I hit the ESC button and quit. When I relog on I need to go through the entire character creation process and try again to log onto the Sunrise server. Am I connecting to the wrong server on the Net-7 proxy loader? I use the custom multiplayer one. I have tried the other server also but it is the same issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I also have searched the forums to see if anyone else has had this problem fixed and it seems that you are the first to reply. If you need any information from me please feel to ask as I would love to play this wonderful game again since I miss it so much. Thanks again. Update~11:41PM PST I downloaded the starship creator and created a new character. But when I get to the point after loading the character, the server requests a name for the character. I enter a name for my character select the Sunrise server and hit Play Game. I still get "The galaxy this character resides on is currently unavailable. Please try again later," message. I re-logged on afterwards to see if at least it saved the data of my new character onto the server and it did not. I had to re-enter a name for my character and hit the Sunrise server button then hit the Play Game and still received the message aforementioned. So I am still having issues, if someone could be so kind to look into this issue I would ever be so happy. I promise to jumpstart you if you ever need me free of charge. I'll even come into dangerous territory to do it. Thanks.

I just started a new character on the game and I am also having this issue. Sunrise is 40% full and when it updated again it said 41% full. Is there something I am doing wrong?
