  1. PS. - If it helps: The ingame browser is a thrid party DLL from capesoft called "Browser Engine". Its mostly using the SDK/API from MS / IExpl. Might be, that the current version is still compatible to the calls/procedure of the old version? This is the product: http://www.capesoft.com/docs/fileexplorer/feBrowser.htm#The_FeBrowser_Object If there is a demo, some1 could simply change the DLL under the client (BrowserEngine.dll) and if the client crashes on URL parsing....
  2. Hi Slayer, in game is for the pure information, no eye candy, no nice blinking, choir singing buttons etc. - speed speed speed: So i suggest: 1. Item-Database, Table/Cell format. No Java 2. Vault of alts to quickly search for items stored on mules Navigation/Design: Pure HTML, mostly Static (pages build by PHP). I think of a design like ago 10 years, links on the top, tables for result. When u look for an item: BEAMS ENGINES ML PJ .....etc Under each name a dropdown (L1 L2 L3 L4 etc) CLICK Choose item from the list CLICK A Table open, showing all needed infos for the item, including a TREE(!) for the build It shows the comps and under the comps you can see the ores needed for the comp ALso you can see what station is selling the comp, name of vendor, price Important is: All infos on one page so the builder in game has the infos quickly Under each page a link: ADD TO FAVOURITES The build can add this item to a personal list[i].[/i] As far as i know the URL called from the client is server controlled? If the URL gets appended by parameters (eg. a hashed account ID), the access can conncted to everyone's account and the FAV-list can be stored under that account for later use. Vault search: Simply search string input box, case insensitiv. Like "novaflash" Webseite is now looking up DB if an item with the search string in it's name is stored on any toon and returns with the toons name. Eg. Search: "novaflash" -->> I got x results: Itemname: Novaflash I L2, 89%[size=3][i] (% is important, so i can see if its looted or PM)[/i][/size] Toon: Weaponmule Itemname: Novaflash II L3, 114% Toon: Weaponmule Itemname: Novaflash II L3, 200% Toon: PMWeapons Click on the item=Item info like above
  3. Could it be that the DB search on mobs and the information listed under items "this...has hidden drops in database" are two diff. databases? .... I "suspect" the item-info connecting to the live-DB, the search tho is a (different/local) DB?

You dont see the ivory ward listed as drop now, but it is dropping from the Veteran Dragon Drone L45. [b]Of course[/b] i wouldn't say your DB is showing incorrect informations when surfing another site (enbarsenal) I wouldn't call BMW and complain about the brakes while driving a Mercedes.... [b]Thank you all for your answers, opinions and feedback.[/b] I would not have thought that many of you find it challenging/fun actually exploring drop and locations and so many considering it an important reason for market chat. I am the player type saying "i need this, where can i find it (scroll list...)" - go there, hunt down, loot. But that's just me, more a "technically" guy mostly results-oriented. To me the mob-hunt and loot is the "job", the success - not exploring the galaxy (i explored the Galaxy already) for the mob dropping it. I consider searching for loot (and therefore killing hundreds of mob for nothing) an "ineffective use of playtime" - but thats how different people are: Some consider this a valid use of game time. Different play styles and definitions of "fun" are the nature of online games and it's totally ok. So to avoid spoiling peoples fun i consider the poll "done" at this point, the results is: No open loot/drop location database. _____________________________________________________________________________________________ [b]A result tho is, that the database on the portal needs some updates/love?[/b] As a fact, it is showing incorrect informations. [/quote] This is the Net 7 DB. Look up the L45 drones (under Mobs), no ivory ward listed for them - but it drops also from the L45 drone. Look up the Ooze, its still listed for the Sporemother L36, but its on Bison and Sagat. On Sagat its not listed in the DB. The DB is incorrect showing wrong infos, Shaddex.

If you want hear it: This is the [b]VERY[/b] reason these classes were disabled in live -they have no benefits - they are obsolete! So instead of "building something useful" around them, the devs at Westwood simply disabled the redunant classes. Who opened Pandorra's box here.....

  13. Well, obv. the database is not even correct or outdated. Lets take the "Ivory ward" for example: The Net-7 Database says: Hung Kwan Novice Red Dragon 48 But the item is dropping from (eg.) L45 drones in BBW. The Model Y L6 shield: DB says (also) Free Spacer Mediator 31 But it's not dropping there - considering market talk (and my own experience). If we dont show the drop locations by default (Item->mob), at least the reverse order (Mob->item) should be correct and up to date.

  15. Hi ! Can some1 explain to me, why we have some items which are simply never going to be used? For instance the Road Runner+ Level [b]9[/b] (DV-WS-X5). It reads: [b][i]Terran Only Trader Only[/i][/b] [b]Someone need to know, that Terran Traders max out devices at Level 8....[/b] Same for Jenny stuff, there are a few items not usable by anyone due to these paradox restrictions. Same for "Shutter Novem L9" - "PW only"... PW also max. out at 8...
  16. That seems to be a general bug. If you look up the current database with the "warriors restricted" search criteria you will only see items showing "Unknown profession" - so the flag "warriors restricted" seems to be "undefined" at certain points (portal, client etc). I think in live there was no need for such flag, because there were always only on other class besides warriors. For the progen it was the Sentinel, Jenquai had the Explorer, Trademen the Trader. That resulted in the fact, that the "restriction flags" in live where only made out of Race and class(eg.) "Trader only" or "Explorer only". Since EMU enabled three hidden classes, the "flag-matrix" had to change as well, so there are new flags now like (eg.) "Trader restricted" - which result in "[1] Unknown profession" or "[2] Unknown profession". The EMU server knows how to handle these new flags, but the client simply dont know them - so he can't show the flags correctly. I saw a "temp fix" for some items having it in the [b]description[/b] like "Only Jenquai Seeker" - but that hasn't been added consequently to all affected item-descriptions so far.

For instance, the JD: People play a JD like a Progen-Warrior. A Jenquai Defender is no Progen-Warrior, a JD is no tank! A JD has 3 [b]VERY[/b] good skills, playing them right makes you "uber":[list=1] [*]Cloak [*]Summon [*]PSI [/list] You have a PSI shield, that absorbs almost 11K damage per shot!![list] [*]You cloak and approach the mob surrounded by minions. [*]Use your Coma device the [b]RIGHT [/b]way: [b]First [/b]blind the [b]MINIONS[/b] (not the primary target) [*]Now cloak again and drive out 6.5K [*]Use summon, pull the primary target to you [*]Now blind the primary target [*]CC, Hit, CC, Hit... [/list] Repeat blind/cloak/summon if you want, you will end up sitting with the primary target alone. Drain the targets energy (that what you have energy leech for), combat cloak, hit - rinse repeat. You have a "blood of the dragon" and you can do this over and over again for hours! You have a PSI shield stacking with other devices (ivory ward, shield cap, etc) reducing incoming damage a great deal. If a higher level mob hits for 20K per shot, your ivory takes out 6K already. You have PSI, taking out another 11K. PSI keeps up "natural shield recharge" while under enemy fire! So your "increase shield recharge +30%" buff is full active!! No other class has this advantage ! FYI: Every other class has [b]ZERO[/b] shield recharge while under fire. So you reduce 20K incoming damage a big deal and your shield is recharging faster then the next shot comes from the mob. But if you have the wrong gear and you play the JD like a PW - you die, [b]NO DOUBT[/b]. A JD is no PW - so dont even think about jumping into the middle of a 12 mob group.. - [b]You are a NINJA and not Chuck Norris....[/b] [b]You are a shadow, you are the breath of death, the soul of your enemy wilts to brown without ever knowing your name...[/b] Funny side-story. I have a friend in game sending me a tell the other day: [i]"Hey, i got this beam last night and this device now and this and this and this and this....lets meet Antares i will show you something".[/i] So his JD joined my group and he was demonsrating his damage done to a L60 Voltoi. We took the time then: 25s for the complete kill. [b]A SINGLE JD took out a +10 Level Voltoi in not even a half minute!![/b] The corpse was assigned to him when we all shooted, so he was outdamaging my PW+TT+JE [i][size=3](ok, to be fair: At this time it was PW=PJ8, JE=Beams 7, TT=ML7)[/size][/i] [b]PW:[/b] The PW at L9 is a tough beast. You got 82K hull and HDC (hull damage control) effectivly rendering your hull to 205.000 Hitpoints! You got a shield about 120K cap, you got (effective) 205.000 hullpoints, you got Ivory Ward (30%) - [b]THIS IS A TANK![/b] Right setup makes you technically/effectivly having almost a half million hitpoints (shield/hull/HDC/deflects). You have [b]SIX[/b] weapon slots for heavy damage-weapons" and a turbo making the server CPU going to 98%...... You have a bullys eye, you have a PB, you have a Flechette (energy saving) - you got everything! Man, you deal out damage making the enemies shield going down faster then he can cry "Master we failed...." And you have a shield/hull making you able to stand the mob for a [b]VERY VERY[/b] long time. There is no single mob in the game you cant solo with a PW - except 60+ Raid mob, but Raid mob isnt supposed to be solo'ed by a single player (hence the name "raid mob"). Use Gravity-Link, a [b]great[/b] underestimated skill: Use it to immobilize minions, "stack" the mob! Drive backwards constantly, let the boss follow..but have the minions imobilized - i singled so many bosses out of the mob with that, it's hillarious. That is the "work around summon" for Progen Warriors! [b]JE:[/b] You are not supposed to be a heavy damage dealing toon nor you supposed to be a tank. You are a [b]SUPPORT-TOON![/b] Accept your faith..if you can't, create a warrior. I love the JE - the supporter role is [b]SO[/b] great:[list] [*]You are the only one able to revive a fallen soul (ok...PS can too). [*]You are the only one able to use very helpfull buff devices for you group and deflects, making your group even mightier! [*]You are the only one able to put the whole group out of aggro with a single click (group cloak) [/list] I play a PW, TT and JE similar. At CL32 we started to take out L53 mob EASILY ! At CL45 we take out the CL 60 Centuriata easily! The JE buffs a group to an "unstandable" power - and the shield-leech is simply [b]THE[/b] uber skill: You fire like crazy with the PW and reac runs dry... [b]BANG..[/b]shield leech from JE, bringing back 100% power to [b]ALL[/b] reactors in the group...this is simply "perverted". You get down in shield (my PW has still shield 8 atm)...TT throws area heal and the mob starts to cry because he needs to start over again with you.. JE is a great great supporter - if you accept this role and [b]PLAY[/b] the supporter. I could go on with every single class...but this posting is already long (and i did not play other classes myself). What i read in the forums comes down to one point: Make..make...give...give...and at the end you have a class able to do all goodies from all other classes. No..is not the lack of items, it's the lack of some ([b]some!)[/b] playing a toon the right way. Please do not get this wrong: I am not saying that everyone posting here (and in other threads) can't play his toon the "right" way, i am just saying that i am aware (considering also ingame tells), that there are "some" active toons lacking a good (good=good combination) setup of items and they obv. play their toons "suboptimal". This starts already with missing debuffs and wrong damage type weapons. I see toons going out without the right debuff and even with wrong weapons, eg. energy setup heading to Antares: Voltois are energy-resistant, at least they were in live. My oppinion.
  19. Morning! May i suggest removing the "This item has hidden drops in the database" and show the drop location/mob instead? There is not really any reason to "hide" it because: Everyone is asking in the market channel for drop locations - and you always get an answer where it drops. If you dont get an answer, its not dropping. So all its causing is is frequently market chat like "Where does....drop?". There is [b]nothing[/b] "secret" in EnB-EMU, there is [b]always[/b] someone who know this and that. The originally intention to "hide" drop locations was (so a dev posting a bit ago) to make finding loot "challenging". Well, its not "challenging", its quite annoying. If the current DB wont show drop locations, player (incl. me) go to other sites and find out drop locations. But these infos are often outdated. So we go to the place just to find out (hours later), that it's simply not dropping - and that makes it annoying. I figured this yesterday when i was trying to find 4 items and there wasn't a single drop where it should be. I then asked in market and got the correct locations and mob. So next time i even dont bother to go to the place of "outdated informations" - i ask market directly. So...the "hidden DB" has no meaning any longer but annoyance. Let me show you some statements from ingame: [XXXXX] XXXX: i just hate being told to go to a data base that is not up to date or lame 90% of the info needed [XXXXX] XXXX: hidden drops mean the gm's are giveing the item to [XXXXX] members . . [size=3][i](here was a guild name)[/i][/size] We dont need that....i say "lift the veil of annoyance"..... Survey is to avoid "+1" postings - rather click there.

It is still (even today) hillarious to see EA starts figuring numbers long [b]after [/b]release. They kept adding turbo devices and did not know in advance the effects of their doing? You wonder how they were designing the game and its items - probably back in the weed yard.... I mean..as a developer you come to a point where you have to make up your mind about item values / buff values. You create "test situations" (FOTM+Reaver+PB) and you do a math to see what it ends up like. You know you can get a damage raise for almost 500% that way...and you still add the item to the game? And when the player base whines about nerfs, you punish [b]all[/b] player by changing the complete way it works, effectivly reducing [b]all[/b] items? Thing is, you also punish all the player that were never lucky enough to have these "uber" devices, cause they dropped only at Raids being "non-trad". So instead of nerfing the "uber devices" lately added, you nerf [b]all [/b]turbo-devices in game.... Stunning...

My whole posting was [b]not[/b] [b]mainly [/b]about the question of stacking (that was just a side effect), i was mainly about the simply wrong math behind it. I am feeling like an [b][i]idiot[/i][/b] now pointing out this difference, showing the correct mathematical formula [b]matching the item description[/b] - and at the end it turns out that the item description is simply [b]wrong.[/b] This is something EA should have changed but they didn't - so i appreciate it could be corrected here now (finally). It's a trap....
