Server offline?

Recommended Posts

The server is up.

However there may be a DNS issue as the IP for the server has changed.

Give it a few hours, try again. DNS can take anything up to 72 hours to update at ISP level.

You may be able to run 'ipconfig /flushdns' ... that could help.

As you requested, I've ran a cmd ping to the server, requests are getting timed out.

I've also ran a cmd tracert and online tracert, it suggests that there is a hop before reaching the server not responding or something, wich I don't know with my limited knowledge.

The screenies are attached below...

Fixed my own case, apparently the server's DNS is slightly different...

Old DNS:

play.net-7.org or 87.160.15.67

New DNS (working):

play2.net-7.org or 87.106.15.67

Ran cmd ping and tracert, everything is fine with the new DNS.

Can't upload my screenies, too big. :P

Edit: To change your default DNS, go to your Net-7/bin directory, then open up LaunchNet7.cfg

Change the highlighted line to the new DNS ((play2.net-7.org) OR (87.106.15.67))

Save.

I do recomment to create a backup somewhere just in case.

WTG Drakefyre. that fix worked for me too. putting the 2 behind play seems to be the way to go.

I also had to change the line, 3 lines below the highlighted one in the same way before the launcher showed the correct host when launching from desktop icon

Are you running Windows Vista/newer?

Remember then to run as Admin.

There is no longer any need to do this.

All should be fine with DNS now.

Not sure if anyone has any idea's but no matter what I do my XP machine still was trying to connect to the 200 address in stead of the one in the 80's. My Vista machine never had a problem.

The only way I got the xp machine to connect is to put 87.106.15.67 right into the host file in the net7 launcher that does work.

any ideas

tried so far

dns flush

modifying host file for Net7 with the net72 address.

Reinstall net7

reinstall enb

I remeber at one point a month or so ago lot of people where having problems connecting and I fooled around with a file for a manual address and it worked. Could be the issue but I can't remeber the file or what I did to it.
