Elephiant Posted October 23, 2012 Report Share Posted October 23, 2012 (edited) I just downloaded EaB, but it won't install when I start the installer I get the error: 'could not initialize installation (CRC)' I ran it as admin, and redownloaded it... didn't work... A changed CRC means, the file is diff. from what it [b]SHOULD[/b] be, this could indicate that the file was changed (eg. virus?). Sometimes this also (rarely tho) happens when downloading - maybe try again to download but at a diff. time and use a diff. browser maybe. Zackman [LDEV] Posted October 24, 2012 Report Share Posted October 24, 2012 Heya, if this hapens again, rightclick the file and lookup the properties. Is the file recognized as an executable (Exe)? Elephiant Posted October 24, 2012 Author Report Share Posted October 24, 2012 (edited) I got the client (and Net-7) installed and patched, but then it said it couldn't find the patch. I googled for this problem and found someone who said that you should use the client.exe in the .release folder, so i started that one, but it let's you login to an EA server (which aren't running anymore since 2004). So then i tried patching that file and starting it, but no change... in short: - e&b.exe cant find patch - client.exe (in .release folder) tries to login to an EA server... oowww... and I just see Net-7 wont start anymore... 'Error on client validation, Details: path has a invalid certification' (that's translated from Dutch btw, the real error says: 'Error on client validation, Details: Het pad heeft een ongeldige indeling.' dunno if that helps.) Elephiant Posted October 24, 2012 Author Report Share Posted October 24, 2012 I tried everything, e&b.exe can't find patch, client.exe tries to connect to the EA servers that went down in 2004 and Net-7 also cant find (stuff on) the server. I checked LAN settings, updated everything i could update and downloaded stuff that should solve the VPN error but nothing worked... aaaand i waanaaa try this game soooo baaaaddd Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
