  1. If you happened to be around a couple of hours ago you would have probably noticed that the General McQuicken raid in DT has been spawned and i'm proud to say VGE figured it out first (Kudos Whale).

This information will be passed onto my guilds leaders to bring to the meeting, i know is planned for this weekend, concerning the 2 new DT raids and rotation.

It all started with a group of dedicated players having fun hunting in DT. We have heard others have gotten the "Spawn Triggered" message so when it became obvious we actually knew why this was happening we threw caution to the wind.

I was leading that group with my alt Amartia when it was decided we let others in on the fun so i made a post in general chat inviting all available pilots and joyfully many responded. We progressed through each wave painstakingly and unaware of the vulnerabilities of each wave in regards to tactics and type of ammo that had to be used and we talked between us in local chat about those issues. It was a long fight riddled with effort and death but we were all having fun.

Finally general McQuicken spawned and things took a wild turn for the worse. My group have already engaged a group of minions when it was pointed out to me that one group was going after the general.

It took me a bit by surprise because there were enough minions around to take care in order to proceed as cautiously as could possibly be.

Then i turned my group towards the boss as well and it became increasingly obvious this was a race to get the boss kill as more waves of support spawns happened while general McQuickens health was diminishing and they were just left to pile up.

It didn't take too long with the combined efforts of two groups, maybe more, when the general was defeated and the looting rights were awarded to Kodiac for xxx seconds according to the system message.

I turned immediately and engaged a group of minions when again it was pointed out to me that the boss corpse was gone and the group responsible for the kill was nowhere to be seen. I switched to local to address those on the raid inquiring about what was going on.

Like i said the support spawns have piled up and they were left up for the remaining raid participants to tackle with. This proved to be increasingly difficult and more death ensued.

When it was obvious we couldn't win over the minions i decided to give up as well and since my broadcasts about the lost group/loot were never answered i made a request in General chat as Amartia for Kodiac to PM me.

Here i will admit i own BI a sincere apology because i thought their tag was on his ship, having a lot of lag and a constant healing web of white around me didn't help either,  and that was not the case as i was informed later.

A total of at least 15 minutes have passed with no response from Kodiac i switched to Efialtis making a statement about Kodiac and his intentions for the loot (i was told a Hellfire Access Card).

Lo an' behold an immediate reply in General chat from Kodiac that i should have been patient before speaking up, i should have private messaged Kodiac myself, he died,  they were making ammo etc

I won't go into details but we're not in high school anymore for such lame excuses and accusations that were made towards me because i had the intention to take this raid to the end (which includes the distribution of loot).

MrBrown you have the honor to be the first person ever to grace my ignore list.

A big thanks to the players that stayed through thick and thin making this raid a reality for all of us.

Hope you continue to HAVE FUN out there and i'm really sorry that this left a sour taste in the mouth of intelligent people playing the game.

  2. I can say with great certainty that AAs were dropping from mobs back in EA live because i got one at some point of games lifetime (got 1 in two years time).

Drop rate was ridiculously low ofcourse but they were dropping.

I dont see why not in the emu as well.

Also regarding AAs, they are supposed to be super rare. I believe there is a huge amount of them already into circulation (maybe not the one me and you want). They were meant to be extremely rare and they had a very high chance of being destroyed in the identification phase, unlike now that if you get one it will always be identified.

    PS: Ridiculously low drop rate.

  3. I would like to see some new race/faction mini bosses. Like the Arx Promethicus and Pax Gravitas that are in Tarsis, add a Terran and a Jenquai equivalent deep within their respective systems.

It will even give you the opportunity to tie the new gear for the 3 originally missing classes to them.

  4. I myself been using the fire/cloak routine when using my JD, works better this way.

One criticism is the use of an AWCS since you are already using the DD shield (like magoo said nothing is really better for your plasma setup). The measly 300 reactor capacity difference cost you a device slot where you could equip an Intolerance for 10% more damage or an ivory for some extra deflects or a focus of the warder or... you get the idea.

In my opinion device slots are at a premium for every race and especially for the jenquai whose play style is more influenced by their devices than their guns.

On the Issue of GoD beam. ED as suggested is 10.8secs reload and GoD is 11, do you really see a difference? When one is ready the other is ready as well so there is absolutely no reason to use a DP instead of a GoD. It even has greater damage than ED @200%. As you go up in turbo those 0.2secs difference will be no more, heck you probably don't react faster than 0,2secs when you see your beams online again.

Lastly Energy leech is a viable option instead of using a Martyrs if you weight the situation correctly. MH should be installed anyway but you may find an opening to use leech instead once in a while. The hit you might take would be no greater than the hit from MH.

For a JD all i have to say is practice your technique and try out different setups to see what works best for you.

  5. May i ask who said anything about off weeks and whatnot? i may not be a native english speaker/writer but i believe people understand what it is i'm saying and what is the saying of others.

And there is a difference between joining and owning. Funny fact from this weekend in Lagarto, i was driving a group with members of 4 different guilds, wanna guess how many different guilds BIs group had? Seen people ask for a group and they never received an invite from anyone.

I guess sarcasm has its limited use as well.

  6. I have no reason to not believe you having that convo with BL and his response Spartan.

The way you went about it though gives out the mentality within BI and its leadership (i know raiderman was there as well as you do). You never tried to form a public raid but instead you even 'dualed' so it would be a BI exclusivity. I know the Core drop is too great a temptation to resist.

Makes you wonder if whatever happened with magoo wasn't personal does it? And yes the difference is that you rushed to do it before someone else could attend. Like i said we could have done it even before you.

  7. I don't know what happened to cause this reaction from magoo but i know he is a big help to everyone be it raiding with public or offering advice etc.

I have seen public raids done with little involvement from the big 3 or with over half the players from them. To that i'm not entirely comfortable with to be honest. Public for me means as many people outside of the 3 (BI, Static and VGE) having fun first and foremost, and then a chance to get items they would probably be unable to just by themselves. If you have to wait a couple, or more, hours for that to happen so be it than a public being comprised mostly of the 3 just rushing in as soon as the trigger is up.

One thing that i'm completely against was last week when BlackLung announced server wide that troller/bbg triggers were spawned for public raids only to witness firsthand a bit later a group of players(some dualing) comprised entirely of BI taking on Controller. Funny thing is we had at the time of the announcement 2 foul groups comprised entirely of single boxers about to start a Fishbowl in Cooper and it was not like we couldn't have rushed in and claimed it. I just wanna see the same from the rest and what i described above.

I want to point out that these are my personal views on the matter and in no way do they represent the view of VGE as a guild.

PS What i mentioned was not  random sector spawns.

  8. I can confirm that the sniper is a mission reward.

As far as TE gear is concerned i greatly value the YLZ Hellbore atm cause of the TE tailored buffs it provides.

Great reactor recharge, the best hacking buff you can get and rally buff equivalent to the Sharks fin which can free you a precious device slot. Lets also not forget its the best plasma debuff a terran can get atm and it never never fails.

For engines i mostly use the Terran Advantage but when range is not an issue (eg you are boss group in a raid) the Intent for the Resolute will superbly complement your reactor and let you keep those area hacks/biocessations rolling.

Since reactor is the weak point on terrans and especially for the TE i would suggest to find ways to patch that hole. Sure a great capacity/recharge reactor will help a great deal (SSR8, Black Power 8 @good quality or even a Tangs Vigor) but augment that with YZL HB or a Devils Heart shield if you need to and combine with the Terran Advantage or Intent engines and the invaluable AWCS added reactor cap to help you stay in the fight longer. Raids are not a speed race but endurance.

One thing i agree with magoo is that TEs somehow are relegated to the bottom of the speed food chain. This is one of my few gripes with emu generated gear. Bring an end to the ridiculous NOS device and make the fighting more interesting as you would have to be more mindful when going into it.

Terrans are supposed to be the fastest of all races and not talking about warp speed here.

  9. I got a couple of questions for the devs.

Is it possible to reactivate the who is online within a guild functionality or there was a problem with that?

I remember it was introduced in a patch but then disappeared again in the next one.

I absolutely loved the graphic attributed to the Ya Zi Long Hellbore when it was first introduced. When it fired it didn't just looked like a big ball of pink but it looked more nimble, like a sperm, i cant find a better way to describe it ...sorry lol. It later was changed to the usual Hellbore graphic. Can we bring it back please?

    Thanks

  10. The Fishbowl can still be activated by anyone. Just have the device in your cargo, target boony and an eye icon appears above him if you're close enough to activate.

Its just classes with both comps and device build skills that can build the fishmaster which is a prerequisite for gettingg the print for the Face of the Ten-gu.

Tip: you can build the Lure on a toon that has device build and pass it on to a toon like the PP to complete the Fishmaster mission.

  11. Personally when on a raid my TT comes with the following:

    Weapons

Smugglers Recourse (reactor cap and recharge shields buff)

    Funnel Weaver (HP buff)

Claimjumpers Reward 7 (Reactor recharge and equipment engineering)

Sting of the Mordana for that small shield cap increase to help me stay alive

on a raid i'm not there to fight but keep every1 else alive with the exception being the Gate Raid (GR) thats too easy anyway.

on a GR and regular hunting

    HellBore

    Smiters Wrath

    Black Caster

    Bile Launcher

    Reactor

SSR8 or Obsolete Power Core for the GR

    Devices

    Martyrs Heart

    Manticore

    Gorgons

    Tactical Advantage Beta

    Ivory Ward

    Good Fortune

    Greasemonkey

    Mark of the Dragon

    Steingerds Embrace

    Tangs Alacrity

    FVES

    Decay of the Vindis

    Shield

Invincible Bastion is never swapped out

    Engine

Intent for the Resolute is never swapped out

This setup works perfectly for the way i play... use it at your own risk :P

  12. *Puts on flame shield, rereads post again, then again.*

I was just asking folks that's all, didn't mean to come off as negative, please don't shoot me to bits when we meet in game. Imagine my surprise when Evermore says he had gone and tweaked it, definitely not the response I was expecting  :D

This has nothing to do with you FireRibs truthfully.

It was all about the fast response you got. Maybe next time we come to you when something needs fixing ...lol Joking :)

  13. Thank you for your response Evermore.

Only thing i wanna mention is that there is still no public builder for those two L6 items. I'm under the impression that someone should have spotted them in the almost two month period since you adjusted them. If you would be kind enough to confirm their correct placement and that they are actually dropping.

I don't know really know how drops are connected to mobs but i'm gonna guess through a table with item name/code and drop percentage. Is there a possibility that one row of that table is never accessed at all for some weird reason?

They easiest way to test this i suppose is by spawning the mob yourself several times and killing it so that you can confirm the drops.

Must be some super duper weird and location specific mob that drops those if we haven't found them by now.

Sorry if i came across too aggressive but like Prre said its not like the reactor that was mentioned in this thread is not dropping, cause it is and those with the persistence to pursue it will eventually get it.

From the 7 public builders 4 of them printed it with my help in acquiring it and i never kept the drop location hidden so i really do know what it takes to get one, seems almost no one wanted to bother with it.

And i don't consider killing something 10 times will even give you a good idea of its drops, even for regular ones.

  14. Is killing a mob 10 times enough to justify a post about Vepsasian drop rates and his immediate adjustment?

I have spent a week hunting him to get his drops to show up and now he is adjusted just like that?

I have killed Aren'zrael the Master 10 times and no Glare of Devastation dropped, maybe we should adjust it?

I really don't get it, and its not like it hasn't been mentioned before that his drop rates were bad and it wasn't a big secret what his drops were.

Ok maybe you could see about the L6 Manticore's Fell Barb and L6 Basilsik's Fell Turmoil that were supposed to be dropping last they were mentioned.

And that was back in late April in this topic
