  1. Title.

What causes the launcher to throw that?

Its been an ongoing battle to figure out whats causing my crashes.

I run both the launcher and client in winxp compatibility mode.

So far I have been able to cut the crashes in half... it used to be on almost every gating (changing the compatibility mode fixed it halfway it seems)

The other point of this, is that it seems to happen oh say after about a half hour, every time. Like if I am doing job runs and porting in and out a lot. Every oh 8-10 gatings or so.

The other major symptom is that I cannot log back into game for quite some time when this happens. Once it crashes, I restart the launcher and it says the server is "offline" anywhere for 30-60 minutes.

Then it just seems to go back to normal.

I was part of the group on Orion that was the first to complete the Fishbowl years ago. :)

We used a medivac method. Each group had a TT, JD, and a JE, with 3 other DPS. Each raid tended to about 4-5 groups. The support portion of each group would situate themselves at equidistant points around the sector's center, then the warriors would hold the mobs in the middle, for the most part. JDs would provide cover for the TTs as needed.

How it worked was rather straight forward, as the DPS got incapped, a JE would sneak up to em, decloak, jumper them, and recloak. The JD would fold the recently revived DPS back to the groups field hospital, and rep him up. The DPS would then return to the fight.

Provided your field hospital groups can get rid of the occasional mob themselves, you can easily keep the entire raid alive right through to the end.

The real weak point is the JEs. If they start getting incapped, your entire medivac system begins to break down, so jumper priority is: JEs, JDs, DPS, TT.

lol you call this medivac, i called it yoyo. But it worked, very very well.
The only problem was you needed a rather large raid force (4 groups+) to pull it off effectively. This was also the usual method used on andromeda, I was there for the majority of those.
  3. Crichton, youre still being a child? Honestly dude?

Sorry but I think the days of being griefers ended when we were teenagers. Im almost 30 years old.

Please, just stop acting like youre bad or something. I knocked you off your high horse enough to know youre nothing special with your "big guns" picking on the lesser combat classes.

You dont own the game, the nav, the spawn, or anything else.

Im asking you nicely to knock it off. I was able to knock you down in live, and if I have to put you in your place here, I will too.

    Stop being a bully.

  4. Are PW's slow by class or just slow by build? I'm assuming you could just strap in a nice engine... I'm going for a fast armored tank type, in expense of some other skills.

And why points into beam weapons? A fallback when ammo runs out?

You could strap in a fast engine, but all the really speedy level 8 engines are LOUD. Meaning high sig. A couple of the raid drops are nice, but until the SS8 is available, youll never be fast without being seen by every mob within 15Km

  5. Once you start overdinging, and have excess skill points, by all means level up beam weapons, they are great for farming junk for credits (more hold space for loot and no ammo cost)

Youll look silly, and some of the PW purists out there (like me :P) might comment on you being a beamer, but hey, it costs a lot less than projectiles for the cash/easy mob grinds.

For raids though, slap your big level 9 archos/fury/bile/ballista setup, whatever you got, and deal the highest DPS in the game

  6. There is nothing wrong with a 50/25/25 PW

At OL 100 youre more than a match for pretty much anything VG can throw at you. Go out and kill all those Crystal Critters and Melbonae (or however its spelled. You can just mop the floor with them, and since they are CL 38-46 you still get combat xp sloughing off into your EL and TL levels, not to mention the junk loot you can sell at the station.

For me the run from OL 100 - 150 took about 3 days, as long as I was CL 50 when I started.

  7. 2 shots from master i can go with 1 shot never. i played the best if not 2nd best PW on the server i had all AA's turbo's deflect devices and i used them all. i remeber doing one of the 1st ones and i think there my be a vid somwere on it. When i got hit by the master it took incoming hits of 2 shot before i really started hitting my hull. and that was ontop of other mobs or minions hitting me too. as it stand a minion lvl 61 not 66 can 1shot though 54k shields and 64k hull total of over 118k per shot. That is nuts and as it stands i had heared and seen people with 100K+ shields and hulls of 100K+ be 1shot by the same lvl 61 minion not master or boss. call it plasma tick or a stait shot but the never hit that hard. Even the controller witch i think was one of the hardest to figure out because you had to switch ammo and kill off certin mobs before even touching the controller never hit like that and he was lvl66 and dropped the best gear.

Think of it this way. Right now the mobs are not grouped up like there were in live and spawned 6 or so at a time with boss. if you took the mobs we have right now grouped them up like in live it could not be done.

1 shot for JD, 2 shot for TE/PW was what I was getting at. (it felt like more than one shot cause of the plasma ticking. each hit was like 150k, some DoT plasma, some absolute - the hits from the master himself had ticks of over 25-40k) And I was right up there with ya, I remember the top PW's. Which one were ya if I may ask.

  8. Also like to add - I was a fuller ubered maxed out PW. The Master was a one/two shot kill. Period. (if you got three shotted, some angel was watching you, his attacks were like 150k absolute damage)

Edited to say one/two cause i just realized as a PW with 82k and 114k.... oh nevermind, you get the point XD

  9. Ok, I did tons and tons of FB Raids both public raids and with Merchant Marines. I also did many Tada-O Gate raids and here is the deal.

As far as I remember when they put the Fishbowl in they removed the Tada-O gate raid and all items that dropped from the Tada-O gate raid dropped in the FB in addition to the new loot. It took a minimum of 30 very competent and maxed players to complete the FB. The standard was 36 = 6 full groups. The groups HAD TO BE balanced. 1 TT, 1 JD, 1 JS'er (PS/JE), 3 damage dealers (PW/TE/JD). PW and TE were preferred as there was no way to keep a JD alive they would get 1 shot killed. The way it worked is upon gating the JD would warp to the very edge of the sector use a telescopium (or just know where the safe spots are) as far from the mobs as possible. The JD would summon the rest of their group to them. After that the JD, TT, and JE (if not a PS) would stay there the damage dealers would warp out and targets would be called over the raid channel. 1 target to be shot by all groups. As soon as a damage dealer was hit ONCE the JD would summon the person back to the TT and the TT would immediately start recharging. YES L9 shields were 1 shot killed if they were not summoned and healed fast enough. Many of them showed up back at the TT dead at which point the JE would JS them or the PS would come out of the fight and JS them.

However, the main reason that I see now why it seems harder is that plasma damage currently in the game (unless it's changed in the last day or so) does NOT tick off it hits all at once. This was the reason players were summoned back on the first hit (which by the way would take 1/2 their shields) if the JD / TT team was fast enough they could catch the person before the 3rd tick and recharge the shields as the ticks went off until the damage was done and then fully repair.

On a side note our guild went and did a Fishbowl on Sunday fairly successfully with less than a full group and I don't believe anyone in group was 150. How did they do it? They buckled up and sighed off the initial XP debt and tried different TACTICS. Once the tactic found that worked all went well.

You may not remember me, but I was the FB raid leader for Omega Corps, also on Andro. One of the other controller rotation large guilds. And as far as everything you wrote here, youre dead on except for the tada-o gate. You could spawn it normally and run just the gate, but no one ever did after FB content was added. Other wise the 5-6 full balanced groups with jd's pulling and je/tt for JS heals with PW and TE basically being yo-yos was exactly how it was done.

If people are able to do this version of the FB with anything less than 4 groups, it has been NERFED if nothing else. FB was by far the hardest raid EnB ever had.

  10. The only argument I could see being made would be for formerly constructable to 200 items being set bind, and thus no longer craftable. Now, if the items were to drop at the 200 mark, considering the fact the only "good" manufacturable item is a 200 it seems, that would counter that argument.

Examples being Hellfire Ballistae and DG

  11. I just heard word from another player (in SWG) that the emulator was up and running. Sorry I havent checked in for a couple years, I didnt know the project was still ongoing.

Once I figure out how to get it working, ill be back in game. God im damn near as emotional as I was on 9/22/04

Purpose of this post here is to find out if OC had been reformed, or not, or if anyone from old OC still wanted to remake the guild.

    Let me know
