    A game that feels "real" was not my stated goal, Z. The goal is to inform and entertain. As to your question of whether I get laughs, yes - yes I do get "lol, lmao" and other reponses in New Players and maybe one other chat channel. I must not be very funny to you nor entertaining. I shall work on that. I do thank you for your input, Z.

    The Net-7 reporter program landed me more than a few compliments from the public in New Players, some laughs from the Devs and GMs, and kudos from Guildies. But as we approach Live, I'm interested in hearing from our Editor Shaddex on expectations and guildelines for the team. So, far Skunky and myself have been informative and entertaining with our reports. We'd like some leadership on the team so we know Tomorrow's News Today and can report it with gusto. This is for the player-base, we know. I'm not a reporter just to hear my chats and posts for an ego-stroke. I'm here to entertain the pilots and keep all informed with the lastest. I'll even except such guidelines in a private e-mail if that's desired.

    As we move into Live, I am looking forward to reporting the current affairs of the Server(s). I've studied the published world canon as posted by Mynd. I've written my own book using an existing world as canon without stretching it in the least. Thus, I know how to create story to go with a gameplay issue, technical blurb, and random bug. I feel ready to be the storyteller for the game world via the Net-7 News reporter program.

    Want to leak a story arc or meta-subplot, clue or easter egg? Want to use foreshadowing for the gamers to glean? Daily reminders and in-game Want-Ads? Even *gasp* Obituaries are doaable.

    I feel that the Net-7 News team can make the world of Earth & Beyond Emulator pop for the players.

    @ Zackman : Being a Net-7 reporter involves some small bit of fiction to create a story around the happenings of the Server. As Shaddex asked when he called for reporters, the job calls for a little role-playing to give flavor and humor to the events around the pilots. If it seems off-topic, maybe you're not separating the fiction part of the story from the boring and banal reality of the issue(s) at hand. In this case it is about the woes of trying to get the target job from a given terminal. Journalistic integrity? This is a game. Expect some laughs and some yellow journalism. Don't like my reports? I can keep thrm from the Forum if you like, Z.

    An Economic Downturn? - Corporations and Factions struggle to keep unemployment down as they seek to keep jobs terminals stocked with various Combat, Explore and Trade tasks. "There's alot of pilots seeking work out there that are being denied by fast-moving jobtakers who then Forfeit what they don't want to complete, " said one Hyperia foreman.     Oh, this is News...

    Advert-bots strike the Net-7 Forum - Today the currently-blackholed Saturn sector has caused a lapse in Net-7 broadcast wavelengths security. Advertisement robots, called "Advert-bots" have struck hte News center's computer system and filled inboxes with useless product advertisement. "We see this on occasion when our guard is let down, " said a Net-7 network executive. Net-7 reiterates its reputation in commercial-free News transmitted the galaxy over. "The spacewaves will be clean again once NET-7 SOL has been freed of the blackhole activity and effect and transmissions are once again restored. Until then, Net-7 News will have to rely on our trusted field Correspondents to bring you the latest."

    In asteroid clearance jobs, if you suspect that an asteroid is a pop-rock, even if it is marked by the mission, try first to clear around it. I have completed such jobs without having touched a marked, off-color pop-rock. I have also encountered off-color asteroids that weren't pop-rocks. Finally I have had normall-looking asteroids exploded on me. Your Mileage May Vary.

    Slight correction to Merlin's walkthrough. Calliope Gans has the lab equipment in the goods section of her menu for sale. Reclaimer Ort did not have them. So, if you are buying for the Call Forward mission, see her in the same room as Ort. Just friendly FYI, from the Pakkrat.

    Could the fear of actual roleplaying, actually portraying a given character, and splitting cooperation along racial and classist lines be the reason for not roleplaying at this time?

    I heartily agree with Proteus. I've had extensive experience with pencil-and-paper, LARP, and online roleplaying games in the fashion of actually portraying a given character. The experience is rewarding to the next higher power in my opinion. I support the advent of a Roleplaying Guild or even a roleplaying server in the event that actually portraying a character is just too much for those who have too many characters (toons) to be psychically split so many times. Your mileage may vary is the axiom here.
