Yeah, I don't understand this at all. If you don't want to use the same characters again it's no worse for you, just select a different one exactly as you were forced to do before? I don't even think there is any ambiguity about whether the transfer happened or not because there is literally a pop-up telling you it completed.
My job irl is Sys Design, and some tasks specific to my role are developing form-based functionality and we wouldn't ever freeze drop down boxes after form submission, they'd go back to default blank values. This would be considered bad practice. I've since gotten used to this here though, and kind of like it now - please don't change, lol. Would never implement this in business though. :S
To be succinct to your point - "it's no worse for you". If you have a process where you always select an origination and destination, it would remove any circumstance where you would sometimes select one or the other. The consistency would be considered a key element.
Apologies for the delay in responding - was watching Le Mans all weekend as a priority and came back to work and got hammered yesterday... as Monday's do.
Great work Karu as always.
Edited: bad English and clarification.

Not a fan, at all; specifically of the interface not resetting.

I reworked inventory pages and added keyword filter. Not sure if it broke your script or not.
This is fabulous for me, thank you!

That's all activated items. Reactors, engines, devices, all of it. The cooldown says 1 second left, then takes another 2-3 seconds to be available. The countdown sent to the client doesn't match what the server is using.
You are incorrect in this instance - go test it for yourself; it would appear that the activation of the Martyr's Heart will not be applied during the 10s duration of the Recharge Shields buff. However, on further testing the Martyr's Heart can be used whilst only the Enhance Weapons buff is active. Further, the Gahtu Daimyo An Ne can be used almost instantly after the Martyrs Heart to replace the lost shield. And I do mean instantly.
This, as I've discussed with people offline, is why players shouldn't post their opinions on here.

An update to this - and @Codemonkeyx response in particular, I'd like to advise that whilst I'm not losing my action bars, I am frequently getting disconnected (maybe 1 sector change in 15-20 aggregate). If not sector change then, when I go back to the character login screen I'm getting the black screen of death.
As a side note, if you multi-client on a Windows box, bring up Task Manager and select the option of bringing the client to the front. This allows you to correctly identify the erroneous client and end task it, instead of throwing the proverbial dart of hope at the one you think it's most likely to be.
Please don't advise we check the four boxes...

This thread got seriously off-topic, please get back to the original OP request.
- Consistency across how the game is handled with GMs (a 5 minute conversation between yourselves about what random junk is posted in New Player channel, as opposed to it being discussed in out of context) and be strict enough to implement that. Different GMs handle this very differently.
- The beam mission-line to be implemented from dT - I will find the name of it later and amend, or possibly a fellow pilot will follow up and point me in the right direction. This would include the Pit Mechanic's Toolbox. Maybe the mission-line was The Day O' Reckoning? If not, can we get something to improve engine build skill, other than the SDK8?
- A Q&A session with the Devs to be possibly attended by Kyp/Red. I can understand the hesitancy on this one, but it'd be sure nice to see if we're alive and kicking, and if not, fair enough; but it'd be nice to be on the same page. This post by Alurra is the first sign that we have a roadmap moving forward in some time.
- The server restart scripts to be ran weekly again. I don't like the current methodology of 'lets wait and see how long we can keep going!' ... it's a bold strategy, Cotton...
*amended*
- Please schedule backups. If there is a monetary value attached to this, message me and we'll see if we can work something out.
- When maintenance is going to occur, don't just drop it on us - if you can let us know in a forum post like you used to, a day or so in advance if possible.
- Possibly look to a certain individual to take up the role as Staff Advocate again. The missing link between the playerbase and Staff is still there.
- A list of known bugs and their respective status of being worked on, on a web page. I'm told there maybe one on Wiki, but then I'm also told Kyp doesn't advocate the use of Wiki, so honestly, unsure if any of that hearsay is true, but a definitive thread would be lovely:-
- the Martyr's Heart effect cannot be applied whilst the PS device aa Gahtu Daimyo An Ne is currently active.
- FreeSpacer faction can be destroyed but not earned back (though I think this maybe being worked on).
- the proper back door mission for Agrippa weapons is broken and doesn't remove the level restriction as it should (since levelled another PW to remedy this personally, but still).
- the mission Blinding the Eye sometimes presents the device Joyful Blinding as an item for analysis, and sometimes does not. Research may indicate that this is dependent on whether the pilot kills mobs or presents ore (2 ways to complete the mission) to the mission-giver. Confirmation of this being a bug or working as intended - if you present ore you get the item for analysis or its automatically put in your terminal list, if you kill the mobs you get nothing.
- the command /lastminer does not work on hulks - be great if you guys could address this.
- Is the webdev (is it Kenu?) still operational? If so, would it be possible to have him address Doctor's post on the potential vault improvement? If it's not something we can expect, fine. But just have that said and done.
- The XP nerf to GO field clears was mean.
- Touchy one. I feel that the addition of mobs around farmed areas is a lazy attempt to fix a problem, similarly the gravity wells. I 100% see a need to drill down on the issue of macro-users, but feel that the implementation of the solutions applied is because the GMs haven't addressed the individuals botting. Why not simply lock them in place and wait for a response? Sure, a GM needs to be on to be on to address this, but ideally a GM will be on most the time anyway. With Yeti coming back, hopefully there will be less unsupervised hours. Anyhow, my point is, you're effecting innocent players negatively to address a problem that could be addressed in other ways. You guys are smart people, and should be able to brainstorm alternatives, no? Also, what's with the new (relatively) cl51 manes at the BBW gate in XT?
- The ability for a Dev, other than Kyp, to be able to reboot the server. This would minimize the downtime (it's great that this is so infrequent atm, great job getting us to this point, but we did have some rough spells back there).
- The JS is a very niche healer, because of it only having a level 8 shield. I see how cloaking mitigates damage and drops aggro, Ice is showing me the way. However, there is no way as a healer managing incoming damage you have time to pop optimize reactor on each individual in your group, consistently. I believe for this reason, there should be another level of the skill which allows the use of this ability to be applied to the group. Make it use more energy or something, but I genuinely feel this change would be warranted.
- The PW go a faux rally skill with the Warrior's Resolve device. Can the TE get a faux shield sap device?
To address points raised by other pilots out there with my personal opinion:-
- The PS is actually a massively powerful class if you use it right. Just have to understand how to gear it. Some information has been posted in this thread, but please take it to another and I'll post more information there.
- The JE is fine at clearing poprocks, just slower (shield recharge). Understand the distance to the mining target (radius) also effects the amount of damage taken, as does the amount of explosive buff you have. The JE has access to self-activated effects which should always be applied.
- The current respawn of fields is fine for the playerbase we have. if we were looking at 100+ individuals, I could see why this may warrant a look. There should always be some kind of shortage against demand to generate a healthy trade system. When was the last time people posted in Market for a particular ore (apart from 'Buki)?

Any update on this, Kyp?

**This is concerning backdoor, not Stage II from invite**
The purpose of doing the backdoor missions from Kenlz is to remove the HU and OL restrictions from the Stage I Agrippa quests. I must stress, the respective backdoors work correctly for devices and shields.
- Analyze and make 2 of each item you analyze and turn it in with your Progen gold token along with some refined ore and get access to Stage I Agrippa with all mission restrictions removed.
Taking the PW prerequisite from Cleri Maste at Trader's Fort and going to Kenlz in Lagarto you are presented with the mission for the backdoor. I completed it; but it hasn't removed the restrictions. I asked Woodstock to review to ensure that I hadn't somehow bugged things my side, but he advised that the missions scripts, even though they are supposed to lift the mission restrictions for HU and OL, don't do so.
I'd like to thank Woody for taking an hour out of his evening to go through this with me.
Appreciate any feedback available.

I've turned my Free Spacer faction negative by farming for the Eagle engine on my Tweetz avatar.
I'm told that this shouldn't be possible as the rep was removed in prior iterations of the game (and that was thought to be the case now too) because there was no way to fix it and there were questlines associated with the Free Spacers - maybe for the Radio Flyer engine?
I talked to Woody who believes it remains in this iteration of the game (though hidden), and that my reputation is indeed negative.
I'm extremely fussy about my reputations, as my fellow pilots will testify to.
Can someone advise on what I can do to remedy this?
Much appreciated.

you get to level 10ish around 30 minutes to an hour into the game with about 12 way points discovered. then the main guy sends you across the hostile universe looking for some obscure shipyard that should have been placed inside the starting station. with no way points or anything in the description telling you how to get from mars to Vega . that bodes evil to someone who has never played this game before. suggestion ... place a shipyard in the starting station or at the very very very least put in the mission text exactly what jump points to use to go from where you are to Vega even google maps don't show how. and you shouldn't even have to look it up on google in the first place. took me 3 hours of blind flying and a few tells to a gm before finally giving up and logging. i played Everquest from kunark for 13 years so I'm used to a learning curve but at least allakahzams maps were accurate .
Wife had exactly the same experience. It took me 2 months to coax her back in. She now has a 150 TT and a soon-to-be 150 JE. Persistence is key.
But for sure, the start is unforgiving, the missions are unfortunately lacking in information, and it would be nice to have the maps at http://enbmaps.de/ linked somewhere in really bold font. I do wholeheartedly agree that warping from Nav to Nav to find a starbase or ship to talk to, to complete a mission ends up in certain death in some cases - there's a very early TT mission that comes to mind. The recommendations I've seen to ask for help in New Player chat is lacking these days - there simply isn't the playerbase anymore to support this course of action. There's 20-25 avatars shown as logged in during most week days (EST working hours time) now - and of those many are multibox / semi-afk script jobbing or mining accounts.

I like the price of some items being a premium. Besides, it's not like we currently have much of an economy in the game. So many people give things away for free anyways... and others are priceless and will remain that way because there is nothing of value that the people who own the higher end items want/need.
Just ask a fella/lady with max negotiate to help you out.

This fixed me -300 error, had to uncheck the server certificate revocation...
-
Authentication server needs a kick - INV-300 error on login. Confirmed by multiple users.
Seems to be a Windows Update on Win10 issue.

Whilst under the effect of the aa Gahtu Daimyo An, a player cannot receive the energy from the use of the Martyrs Heart - either from their own activation or anothers.
Thanks.

When I click the link I get an empty main frame within the page and can't interact.

Appreciate these, thank you.

I don't know if y'all can validate this, but it seems the TS and PS don't have the build ammo skill - the prints are in the terminal, but the skill is gone.
Thanks to Desslok for bringing attention to this.

Looks like you guys managed to recover the data from the same day (4 hours lost-ish) from when we lost the server! Great job!

I've made this point and received a blunt rebuttal. Same thing happened to my wife; please go to x and complete the mission. She stops at the nav before and a lvl20 1 shots her. "Learning curve." She was OL4. She has played MMORPGs for 25 years and there was never a learning curve quite this steep, she says. I agree. She logged off for 2 weeks and I'm slowly getting her to come back into the game.
For sure, not a learning curve, not at that level. It's poor design. There is no learning. There is instant death and a feeling of resignation and intrepidation as you go from nav to nav with the fear of dying on arrival.
The map is a great source, the database is a fantastic tool, especially with character and item management available from the web. Wiki is hit and miss, oft quoted by a GM in-game as being *the* place to find information. However, it often has misinformation that the player base actually knows is incorrect, but doesnt want to update because they prefer to manage the information available. I could provide examples, but I fear I would annoy people if I did. However. the more grizzled pilots out there know exactly what I'm talking about. When the same GM is approached about this, the response is, "well it's player-sourced!" That's fine, but don't mislead people into thinking it's the holy grail of information, it's far from it.

Oh, and if you need someone to go through the mission text to add information, to submit for QA or actually QA changes - that's kind of part of the process of my job irl. I do data, logic and system code creation, modification and verification to an ERMS. Also educated to degree level in England in Information Systems (Networking), The offer is on the table.

It's bloody awful now. If the opportunity to custom list is not available, please consider going back to previous. I've posted a screenshot of one example of how this hasn't been beneficial ... but now ores aren't sorted by
category/level/quality/structure/name... I could provide many more examples if needed. It's almost become an icon management interface.
Was way better before.

Server is down. Authentication works, however character selection and game connectivity is lost.
All players connected were disconnected 01/02/2023 @ 16:55 EST
Web, TS, database all seem to function.

Ok, so my wife donated for me (I don't have PayPal or Venmo or whatnot). I wanted to donate $250 but there wasn't a free-type option, so I'll donate again in a couple months, thanks.
