  1. The change to an alphabetized listing was a request through the Advocate.

I agree that alphabetizing is not perfect for the reason you mention - various naming schemes break the logical grouping.

I am sure it is much more appreciated by builders who had to deal with build list that had no logical order .

  2. Darkdronen,

I split your question into a new post so we can better track it.

A couple of points I can answer though probably not in the details you hopped.

    • Skills are, in general, capped at level 10. Which allows for some growth in skill capability beyond what you can do with skill points.
    • Skill capability growth which is given as part of a device buff applies to the already earned skill capabilities only and doesn't offer skill capability progress (i.e. you cannot use a device to get combat cloak unless you have skill points in that level of the skill).
    • Skill are handled different depending on the skill. Some are stronger (i.e. Psi shield), some occur quicker (i.e. cloak), some make you go faster (Navigate) and some do more damage. It is up to you to discover which.

    Does that help?

  3. Red,

The ZPC was that way in Live as well and is part of a set of weapons which are there to support multiple type weapon configurations. There are several wepons that have these cross weapon bonuses. For example:

For example these Missile Launchers have Projectile Buffs: Big Bertha, Bricole

There are even some PLs that have beam buffs like the Ninja Katana

So while it is a bit odd - it is as intended. Hope that helps.

  4. The only thing the command does it take the target of the person you choose to assist. All other functions remain the same. So healing while targeting a mob will heal yourself (standard heal) or your group (group heal).

  5. All,

First and foremost thank you for suggestions like this one - this is exactly the sort of thing we need to see more of.

The requested functionality will be implemented in a somewhat limited way with tomorrows patch. Specifically:

    Syntax: /assist <player>

Function: This command will automatically give you the named players target in the same way that clicking the grouped players "Target This group members target" functions.

There are a few limitations however:

    1. The player you will be assisting (and his target) must be in range.
    2. Without a major re-write we cannot implement the skill type determination. So this will help attackers but will not assist healers or other support units.
    3. There is also a /noassist command which will allow you to stop other from /assisting you. This will hopefully stop this command from being used in support of Kill Stealing.
    4. We are also limiting this so that you cannot assist someone on the same IP address as yourself (so another toon you are multi-boxing on). This is an intentional limitation to restrict the utility of this command to those using macros.

    So for example:

    Player 1 Multiboxing: Toon A & B

    Player 2 : Toon C

    Player 3 : Toon D

    A can assist C and D but not B.

    B can assist C and D but no A.

    C can assist A, B, or D

    D can assist A, B, or C

    Clear as mud? :)

  6. I like the idea - and it is not overly complex to add the 150 or so items that would be needed.

Perhaps you could do the work and create a spreadsheet with the item details including the name, description, etc. From that to a working set of items in game would be a bit of work to load them into the system.

Easy to fix and adds depth and character to the game.

  7. Ignoring SiSL's rant here at the end --  I am not sure that the link provided links the impact of faction to the exchange rate for the Agrippa advanced build items. The dynamic faction was linked to mission acquisition and progression.

It would be good if Byakhee could confirm if this was intentional. The e-mail chain referenced ties the dynamic faction to mission acquisition and cost elements only.

  8. I am not on the Progen team but:

The complexity of Agrippa is part of its beauty - when you complete Agrippa you have done something, earned your rewards so to speak.

I agree there is some fine tuning that needs to take place. There may be a few outright bugs, but some of the missions steps could use clarification.
  9. Moving to an activated raid only shifts the problem. In order to keep an activated raid to roughly the equivalent of a once a day activation, thus keeping items rare, it would require us to make some portion of the activation sequence significantly challenging. This may be a component that only drops very rarely - which then gets camped and again causes strife.

Fish Bowl is already too common and should be adjusted. Not every toon should have a Devastating Gaze, Smiter, or Fury. These are intended to be rare, no as common as they are. It should not be the work of an hour or two to collect the comps needed to activate these raids. it should be the product of days of effort with a corresponding reward. The same is the case, though to a somewhat lesser degree, for the Oni/OCD activated raid.

If GoBB or Controller were to become activated then it would need to be in a way that maintains the rarity and challenge but provides a more level playing field for large and small guilds. I cannot see a solution that fits both sides of that equation but would be happy to hear of one.
  10. "Owning the timer" is no longer so simple. All such timers are variable on a base time +/- 50%.

If "hypothetically" a raid, like Ghost of Black Beard, is on a 24hour timer then it can spawn from 12hours to 36 hours. That makes camping or spawn ownership unlikely.

Larger guilds may, by the simple fact of being larger, be better able to detect spawn times but it remains the reward of persistence.

I see no way to improve on the system within the constrains of the game system itself.
  11. All,

I am turning my eye towards to Terran Explorer (our least played class) and trying to get it fleshed out some more. This will include some race specific equipment, missions, and the like.

But before I start going in I was hoping for some feedback from the players on what they like and dislike about this class. I have seen people expresses some concerns over various elements of this class, but was hoping for something a bit more actionable.

Specifically what do you think needs to change to make this class better?
    What, specifically, needs fixing?
What would make the TS and class you would look forward to playing more?

I look forward to your feedback.

  12. All,

Sorry for the late reply on this - I am in the process of a major international move and so my time and attention have been focused elsewhere.

I am in the processes of two things which will address your concerns here.

    1. I will be making the engines easier to analyze. I have them currently set to be harder than normal. That should significantly improve the chances of success. Because of the nature of the missions (and future missions) I do not want to just issue the recipe.

    2. The CE-X11 Prototype "Terran Advantage" will be moving beyond prototype stage and into production. While this will not make it available at your corner engine vendor it will provide another avenue to get the engine. Stay tuned.

I trust these will be helpful.

  13. The point Red was trying to make is that the fun and enjoyment is in the journey and not the destination. There is content for all levels, things to do and see that are only interesting or possible at lower levels. Don't fall for the race to 150- enjoy the process and see all there is to see along the way. Then you will find it an enjoyable story and not a grind.

  14. I find it funny that all of these people who opt to use pseudonyms talk about privacy.

Privacy in a game like this is what you make of it. We do not ask for any personal information other than your e-mail address which is only used as verification to stop spam creation of mass accounts. What little we have is never shared, and in fact we do not use it ourselves unless you opt to get forum notifications.

In game privacy is much the same - shut off chat if you don't want to be bothered.

    Privacy is your responsibility here.

I know the TS L75 HU is more than a talk and buy now (just did it on my TS) its a go to antares and explore some select navs for NPC for HU now (BTW...you might want to take a bigger escort for that one...its a bit deadly for a TS at some of those navs..that or get the lowest sig you can)
    [/quote]

MacKellen did warn you it was a stealth mission, with a low sig and a good scan you can do it no problem. I did it on the Dev server with a TS and all vendor equipment. On play it should be easier as there is usually a PW or two arround drawing attention.
