Lol in what part of this thread have I "Self Pwnage" myself?
You may want to read people's posts properly before replying - it was pointed out to you. O wait, that is not possible when you are like
I already figured you are trying to be a Troll, however you must not realize I like to feed Trolls the same information over and over again. Gotta remember they have thick skulls, got to pound the information in over and over again. You must like getting burned with a hot poker of truth. Oh well Ill keep doing it if i must.
Not trolling, just pointing out self pwnage. Don't worry even the sharpest among us are guilty of that at times
Hey, I'm not the one who's a glutton for punishment here. You're making it too easy. Yes, the TS will have build engine because engines are what Terrans are good at. Until we have a point where we make changes to the new classes it will remain as is. That's not to say I don't listen to suggestions, I just don't implement them unless they are sound. Giving them build reactors (as suggested by some) is fail, because Terrans don't know the first thing about reactors or energy management, that was their weakness.
This may be kind of moot but: Give it build components like the very ancient single player Terran Scout had in its skills list. By having build devices, build comps and prospect it would be in a unique niche. In the same way the PS is versatile in that prospect and killing have good synchronization, the TS could prospect ores and use them to build components to sell, or use the components to build devices. A small niche, nothing major, but oh so much better than engines which is so overlapped with TW and TT.
In regards to the latter: Ok, perhaps if you want to twist my original words out of context this is a fit, but otherwise not really since it's a player maintained wiki hosted by the company on their server.
My only point in this thread; at least one major mmo's creator has the mindset that all game info should be available... Not saying it's good, like I've said before it's great that the emulator will not have this.
You did it again my friend. Burned yourself. First change i did is self evident. They did not provide nor hand out the information as in what MOB drops what. Next is a Player gained the information, through hard work, it was not handed to him/her from the creators. Now here is the kicker, you reinforced what Kyp and I said, It was not given to the player, the player found the information whether by making a program to access the database or finding the MOB that dropped it. Try again.
Not really productive when someone keeps repeating themselves in a slightly different way and each time it makes a little less sense than the last... What you are doing is arguing semantics, with yourself. All I did was point out (at post nr.12) that you PWNT yourself (at post nr.10). When I said I would put on the kettle, I did not think it would be this easy to see you blow steam
By the very nature of that argument, you fail. The request was for US to provide this information. We're not going to do it. I didn't argue with the fact that the creator hosted, in fact I agreed with you above that it was "official" but pointed out that by their own about page, which you so kindly linked they said they don't touch it, its entirely the player base. Nice try though.
I like your stubbornness, on an unrelated note is that why the TS is going to have build engines together with the TT and TW? Back to here, you did ask this earlier:
Really? Name 3 examples, with links to data offered by the creator, this is certainly a very new behavior of any mass market mmo I know.
The information is offered by Arenanet here, or not?
Your already burning yourself yet again, already pointed out to you and guess have to again, They may have endorsed it however they did not make it nor provide the information, a player provided it, not the company. Try again.
Well, they actually did provide the information in the first place - it's their game. A player is merely transferring that information in the same way an ant moves eggs around its nest. So whether a game's creator provided the actual drop info is trivial, because hosting a wiki is for all intents and purposes the same thing as a drop database. Lastly Maniac, please have this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xdCrZfTkG1c
Sorry but you burned yourself here, Its managed by the community not the game designers. My statement stands, No Creators provide a Database, its gathered and run by players.
So hosting a wiki it is not providing a database? What an upside-down world we live in Maniac you are only making it worse for yourself, so keep talking
Is he really going to receive that PWN? He said it wasn't official, in that much he's wrong but at the same time you contended that THEY updated it when I see here the words: Note the part towards the end that's bolded.
A wiki is open to anyone by it's very nature. You are mixing up the obvious because you have a hard time admitting defeat Can't you at least admit that the creator endorses it by hosting it and therefore you are [s]pwnt[/s] a little mistaken?

    Loot Table
Anyway Wiki's are not run by said company, no matter what the label, it is run by someone that gathered the data from other players that have found the items and drops. Same as any 3rd party database.
Maniac, I've turned on the kettle cuz ur about to get a warm cup of PWN. See this link. It says:
Guild Wars Wiki is the official English language wiki for Guild Wars. It is hosted by ArenaNet for the Guild Wars community to be managed and shaped by the community.
In what way is hosting a wiki NOT endorsing loot locations and other game info being available for everyone? Yeah that's right, down boy, down.
Really? Name 3 examples, with links to data offered by the creator, this is certainly a very new behavior of any mass market mmo I know. Wow doesn't do it, and they all copy wow nowadays just about, so let's see it.
Does a wiki run by the game's creators count? Then guild wars wiki... As for the emulator loot locations : gfg. Not only is it good for explorer fetishists that loot locations are being kept under wraps, but it would be more so if they were somewhat shuffled from time to time. This is to keep things interesting as well as make loot databases difficult to set up.
  11.
I don't know - isn't it just like the debate about cherry-picking. Some people say they enjoy cherry-picking because they know it ticks other people off. Perhaps the same is true of loot stealers - they do it just to tick others off.
Indeed, which is why it needs to be avoided. It's not without a reason that almost all MMO's since have round robin looting.
  12. Remove the jackasses opportunity to be jackasses. It's like the firearm debate. If nobody had them, people would not be getting shot. Please don't say it is good to be able to spot the jackasses because given a little push here and there most people can be taken down to that level.
  13. Can loot be randomly assigned when grouped? Full group -> kill mob -> open hulk -> only loot assigned to you is highlighted, thus lootable * There may need to be maximum range for this. * You may need a method to easily assign your own loot to a specific player in the group, or free it for anyone to take. * Make it an option that loot can be randomly assigned While this is a long shot suggestion, it does add a certain 'fairness'. Also, loot whoring and the bitching that ensues can be avoided. When you loot something valuable while grouped it is yours because you got it, not because your team allowed you to have it. It also removes the need for a lotto within a group when they loot say a plague's bite. Basically, this suggestion is to avoid the sh!tstorm called fastest finger first...
I have always been of the opinion that MMORPG's are really about the 'social' aspect of gaming. focusing on the synergy of partering up with others and supporting each other. If someone is being a 'social outcast' and not working with others, they should accept the additional burden of having to work harder. - just sayin' I am aware that my position on this matter may offend a few solists, but hey... there are plenty of off line games you can play solo, why bother with a mmorpg if you want to do everything by yourself?
Very black and white. People play mmorpg's for different reasons. Think the killer/socializer/achiever/explorer spectrum makes that clear... Take myself, the main reason I play online games is because IRL I'm a disabled underachieving social reject. Ingame however, I can pretend to be someone else.
  15. For recharge, shunt gives crazy amounts more than those few % recharge of renewal. The debuff of shunt may not be so hot for the JE and JD, but the JT has the recharge shields skill. No regen dances like the JD and JE... How clear does it need to be that shield recharge (de)buffs are a non-issue on a trader...

    /command

Maybe already suggested but... /shipstats Will show total reactor recharge, shield recharge and maybe even damage per second done by all weapons. Also any other useful invisible stats would be nice to see. First two are straight forward but because weapons have varying types of damage the way it is displayed needs to split up. So a level 150 TT checking /shipstats will have 4 weapon slots with each their own damage showing. For example's sake he has 2 Plasma ML's, 1 Plasma beam and 1 energy beam, it would show something like: Damage per slot: (1)100 Plasma DPS * (2)100 Plasma DPS * (3)50 Plasma DPS * (4)50 Energy DPS Damage per type: 250 Plasma DPS * 50 Energy DPS Damage total: 300 DPS Reason for this is to better see how buffs interact with each other...
  17.
Psionic Dominator (L9 Device, JT only) Vita Theodora's Sacrifice (L9 shield, PP only)
a ) I would use that device so mobs become untargetable by other players - amusement ensues. Unless ofcourse those mobs are targetable while charmed in which case you would attack those mobs just to anger their master b ) Not a balanced shield without it having some major disadvantages. Main problem is that the disadvantage is countered by having another PP with the same shield heal you back up. So a raid can consist only of PP's pulling this off...
For a Jenquai Shunt to reactor is almost a debuff. Our Reactors are great, while our shields aren't. Also considering that the Shield Renewal stacks with Shield Recharge, while the Reactor Renewal stacks with Recharge Reactor, which of these 2 engines would you use with this shield?
Not too keen on shield recharge buffs on a trader profession - recharge shields skill kinda takes care of that no? And reactor renewal is horribly outclasses by shunt to reactor... But the advantage is minimal because as you say the JT has no energy issues. Prob only measurable advantage is the 250 extra warp - not even worth getting an intent for...
Shame this is its final mission.
Indeed, Wtf is obama thinking when ending the shuttle program and hurting our nation's pride? Doesn't he know our god blessed nation is all about winners and losers? The money freed by not sending up those firecrackers will now be used on the poor people who don't deserve it. Damn yo obama got yo priorities mixed up...

    Psi Shield
swings and roundabouts ... I did think of that, but hey that's part of fun eh? Hopefully your shield will have recharged by the time the Psi shield runs out, but you don't know until it's gone ... The other thing we could do is to turn the shield a dark grey or something like that when it's on its last legs. Or have it flash brightly for a couple of secs just before it conks out.
I'm curious if this is the best (least complicated) way for psi shield to work based on this example: Say a JD/JS has 1000 shieldpoints and 300 shieldpoints psi shield... You cast psi shield on self --> shield cap increases from 1000 to 1300. The next 300 damage you take lowers your shield cap and current shieldpoints as the psi shield is going down. You are left with 1000 points when it expires and after that your shield takes normal damage. Let's say you already took damage and are left with 400/1000 shieldpoints during combat. You then cast psi shield, increasing your current shieldpoints to 700 and capacity to 1300. Basically psi shield would increase your shield cap and reduce it each time you take damage.

    5. Add a guild hate list. Whenever a guild member killsteals a member from a hated guild they gain points. Obviously higher points will award promotions and limited edition equipment.
  22.
Also just to clear up the 'Ninja' looting - if you own the husk, you can always cloak loot no matter what level, but if you don't you are subject to a chance test based on cloak skill.
I'm curious what is meant with owning the hulk... I thought that when the timer expired the original owner didn't want it so it's a free for all? Or is the loot timer being completely removed? :tearsofjoy: This just seems like nerfing jenquai which as low level toons get most of their income and trade experience from carrion feeding. If people are complaining about the poor jenquai trying to make a living, perhaps they should take the time to loot the mobs they kill. Don't think that if you kill so many mobs the screen is filled with hulks that it won't attract scavengers...

    Psi Shield

What Tienbau suggests looks great. Only issue I could think of is if you have low shields and it gets cast on you, you won't know how much shieldpoints you have remaining as it is hidden. Perhaps psi shield could increase your shieldcap so when it runs out - your shieldcap automatically drops..?
  24. yes but why implement this. why would anyone want to be randomly thrown about. why would it help the game. i can also think of a lotta more different things as well!
