  1. Thanks Syber.  I love the idea of things used in missions, etc. having future uses in other things.  Prerequisite knowledge is IMO a good thing, much like prerequisite missions.  Like you I've been gathering the resources for the MCP.  Then again I like mining, whether it's strip mining or looking for specific things.

  2. It is supposed to slot into the off week Terrel. So there is actually no off week from now on.

Okay, thanks.  That seems okay with me, I don't know how others feel about it.

In time there will be more sectors, and at least some of those will have raids or mini-raids.  Depending on what happens over the course of the game, as the galaxy expands, the bye week probably would have eventually had to go away.

  3. I have no idea who would best represent the public on this matter.  I'm not sure if I understand correctly, but is the "skip week" the same week that the public gets, or is it a "bye week" where a specific raid doesn't have anyone designated for it, essentially making it FFA (free for all) while the public gets a different week?  My personal opinion, though not speaking for the public, is that the DT related raid(s) be added to the rotation, like it was any other raid.  If there's a line (queue) of sorts, then just put it at the end of the existing line (queue).  Edit: overlooked that in the OP. If they are on fairly/very short timers, should they be considered collectively as one raid?  I don't know.

Assuming that there's one week for each raid given to the public, while each raid gets one week for each of the 3 major guilds, I don't think anyone would have a problem with it, but I could be wrong about that.

It may well be helpful to use whatever is decided here as a template as other raids are added in the future.  With the obvious exception of any raid where you assemble a trigger and can be activated at any time, by anyone who possess the trigger.

  4. I would say that yes, that is the case Terrell. All Jenquai have the cloaking skill, yet only the JE gets up to L7, while the other 2 remain at L5.  Also, all of the traders have Negotiate, however, the TT is the only one to get it to L7. The other 2 , JT & PP only go to L5. A couple of the terrans also have navigate, but not as high as what the JE gets. I am pretty sure there are other as well.

Is that what you are talking about?

Not exactly.  Except for extended wormhole, weapons, and the "techs" all your skills are L5 or L7.  I'm asking if since Extended WH is L3, can other skills be like that as well.  So can say a JT have L6 cloak, rather than L5 or L7?  Same for any other current or future skill, can they have levels, like Ext WH other than 5 & 7?

For Negotiate it wasn't always just the TT that had L7, prior to ST4 the JT also had L7 Negotiate.  For the Navigate skill 2 of the 3 classes that receive it get it to L7, the TT is the one that only gets L5.

  5. Since Extended WH is a 3 level skill, does that mean that skills can have any amount of levels between L1 and L9?  If so does that apply to existing skills or only new ones.  So if you had 3 classes with a shared skill could one of them have said skill to L5, a second to L6, and a third to L7?

  6. For things outside of the context of EnB use the Out of Context channel.  New Players is for the assistance of those who are new to the game.  I'm not sure if it's still there as I have new players turned off, but there was a reminder of it's use if you were over OL50, that was automatic.  We usually use the General channel for general EnB related things.  Also while much of the player base is older, some players children play, and please take that into consideration.

Under Chat, use the set channels option to turn on/off the channels you want.

  7. So far I've been working on this mission, and have everything except the yeast.  I hear that you can get it from Shang Li Chun.  I've heard that he has a mission to get it, but he won't give me said option.  I have had his mission "Insane in the Mainframe" in my log for quite some time.  Do I have to forfeit this mission to get him to give me his mission to get the yeast, if so, can I get the mission back after this is over?

I have Yum-O-Rum in my inventory, have tried it with & without, no change either way.

  8. Just my last thought on this, When I lv ANY toon, the last skill I lvl is combat, my trade is always the first to pop at 50 and explore is close behind; and yes even on PW / TE / JD. This way I have the shield to handle any mob I encounter.

I think this strategy makes the most sense as well.  It's how I leveled my characters both here & in EnB Origins.  Explore is the biggest PITA to get for anyone who isn't an explorer (regardless of race).  The trade jobs are the most efficient way to get XP, including using Trade XP for spillover.  This assumes that L150 as quickly as possible is your goal.

If you're more concerned with enjoying the leveling up process, and not hitting the terminals, you'll need to be an explorer & it will be slow.  If you want to do it with a warrior or trader, well, you're going to have to use the job terminal, or do trade runs.  Even then you will need to get TL & EL high, before you work on combat.  The most efficient process will still be Trade jobs, you'll just stop doing them after you reach TL50, and at least EL40, then play normally from that point on.  From there your equipment should keep up with your weapons.  Your CL will have also been raised, but depending on where it was when you started it should still be behind your EL.

  9. I know BL said this mission is currently Terran Restricted. The patch notes do not say it should be though. They said it was a mission line for explorers and the scout is an explorer class. I would love to be able to run this mission line on my scout. He can always use more speed :)

My idea would be to double the faction needed to access the mission for a scout.

Had EA implemented the 3 missing classes in the original, the devices rewarded from the mission would not have been usable by the Terran Scout.  In the original game Lyle's devices were Terran Restricted & Explorers only.  As far as I know, these devices were the only items in EnB Origins that were Terran Restricted, rather than Jenquai Or Progen Only.

  10. I have to also agree with Syber & Vitaes.  For a JE we do have options for avoiding combat, and between the Fox, Lion, and Jaguar beams we can defend ourselves against energy immune enemies if we have to fight.  The other options mentioned earlier, cloak & fold space are helpful, especially Teleport Enemy which you can get by EL5 at the low cost of 3 skill points.  Coma helps too which you can get at OL20 if you provide the parts (or the ores to make them).  The PE can play dead if necessary, the Scout is the one that would have to run away.  If the Scout were to get a "hide" skill, they'd have more options as well.

  11. Well, storyline/faction-wise it makes sense as Terrans and Bogeys aren't exactly the best of friends. Still, maybe some nice Dev will add some items that Terran Scouts could use as part of the mission rewards.

An alternative is in the future have at least 2 more comparable mission chains.  Since the Scout has already had their "odd explorer out" mission chain, simply add 2 more one that excludes the PE, another that excludes the JE.

  12. I am sorry for the delay in my response Terrell. I have been quite busy the last week or so with work, family, holiday. Could you please elaborate on what you mean here so I know what I am asking the team? What I THINK you are asking is whether this is a forerunner for other mission for the other classes, but I'm not sure if that was your intent.

No problem RL comes first.  I was thinking about the other classes in this way.  Prior to extended wormhole, each class (except the PT) had 17 skills, if you count the "techs" (Device, Engine, Reactor, Shields)  as skills.  The JE & PE also had their L135 skill.  Since the JE now has 18 skills, can the other classes look forward to 18 skills?  That would be one more skill for each other class & two more for the PT.  In counting up the skills I did not include Compulsory Contemplation, Call Forward, or any future L135 skills not in game yet.

Pictures a JT with L5 Hull Patch (or some new & unique L7 support skill), L7 Navigate, and Reactor Opt as their L135. (credit to Kenu on the reactor opt thing, not my original idea)  Pictures a PT with 2 new skills, both unique, or one unique and one already existing.  Pictures the TW or PE with Navigate 5 (or something else, not necessarily the same on both). Pictures a PW, JW, TT, with some new skill, rather new & unique or existing.  Pictures a Scout with one more skill, or having hacking replaced with a different skill plus 1 more skill. (potential examples)

Another thing I'm curious about is this:  Since Extended Wormhole is 3 levels, can we expect more levels as new systems come online in the future  (Eidenmist Nebula, Epsilon Eridani, etc)?

Oh and as a comment, I like the new colors.

  13. In the original the devices that Lyle rewarded a JE or PE with couldn't have been used by the Scout, had the Scout been in the original game.  Those items were Terran Restricted, Explorers Only.  I went and checked the DB and they don't say that at this time.  What I was going to say, is no longer supported by the database, so I typed delete, as in ignore said post.

  14. With the public having a week in the raid, they are bound by the raid rules as the big 3 are, so the short answer is no, they should not be triggering raids outside of their rotation slot.

Agreed.  I think trying to mess with the existing agreement is just asking for trouble within the community.   If for some reason that a major guild, or the public, cannot use their normal spot in the rotation it should not be taken away from them by someone else.  They just have to wait until their next turn comes, or use BL's raid sector.

  15. In EnB Origins the Chili-Popper had the debuff of Loony's Shield Hammer, which debuffed the energy, impact, and plasma deflects on the targeted enemy. I think the debuff amount was around 10-15% but I forget the exact number.  Will this debuff stack with other device based debuffs to those 3 types of damage.
