cooper
Hi all, Is there anyone out there that when you start the Character & starship creator, crashes and then tells you that it could not initialize any direct 3D device and to make sure you have direct X 8 or higher? My creator was working just fine, then just didnt work one day. since its been awhile since i've used the creator, i'm at a loss as to what may have happened. any ideas? My video card is an ATI HD 6570 with direct X 11. Thanks! Cooper
C Del[IS]
You may be missing some DirectX files that aren't necessary used by modern games. Try installing DirectX again to ensure you have all the files: http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=35 Assuming you're running Windows 7, if that doesn't help, try running the Character and Starship Creator in compatibility mode by right-click on the program or shortcut, selecting "Properties", switching to the "Compatibility" tab, checking the "Run in compatibility mode for" checkbox and selecting "Windows XP (SP3)" from the drop-down box. cooper
Thank you C Del I did the steps above and it did not work. However, i checked the ATI Catylast software and updated that and it did work. Thanks again for the help!
