trubolotta
Navigation upgrades and devices don't always do as expected. This is perhaps more apparent to TTs doing long trade runs where time is everything. It seems the higher the navigation level the greater the tendency to plot courses that follow numbered nav markers and not the shortest route. In fact there is sometimes an advantage to NOT discovering nav points so they are not considered in the path finding algorithm. It would also seem reasonable that nav upgrades would also improve avoidance of gravity wells, but they don't. A good example of how poorly the existing algorithm works is Aragoth Prime between the gates for Muspelheim and Varen's Girdle once all the nav points have been discovered. I'm suggesting the algorithm be redesigned to actually reduce travel time as navigation level increases and devices are added.
