  1. I would have to agree with Stoop and Holyman. Explorers rarely want to give up their special fields they find.

If you need a certain ore you can ask in market and usually get an answer where to find it.

There is also some basic ore location info on the wiki.

  2. I am using the official numbers from Net-7 in this post.  I am also very happy with the recent changes made to the Missile Launchers of the game.

The level 9 Projectile launchers are a bit unbalanced in terms of DPS.  The Bile Cannon does 176.87 DPS with PM ammo.  The Brimestone Ballista does 152.52 DPS.  If you compare the DPS of the two weapon systems, the Bile Cannon does about 16% more DPS than the Brimstone Ballista.

If you compared the Bile Missile Launcher with the Zet Missile Launcher and Dung Cannon, the Bile does about 4% more DPS than the Zet and Dung Cannon.  The ammo stack of the Zet is now 500 which is a welcome change.  The Bile ML has 60% more missiles than the Zets which is about what the Bile Cannons have on the Ballista in terms of stack size advantage.  The recent change of the Dung Cannon stack size is definitely a positive change.

The Archos has the same problems in terms of DPS vs the Bile cannon.  The Archos only does 159.45 DPS with PM ammo.  The Archos ammo requires effort to make because you must mine the ores and then make the parts.  The Archos falls behind the Bile Cannon in terms of DPS by 10.9%!  That ammo stacks of the Archos are a lot less than that of the Ballista or Cannon.  The Threaded Archos does help but it only comes in the plasma flavor.

    Suggestions:

    1)  The Archos and Ballista DPS at a minimum should be raised to be about 3.8% below the DPS of the Bile Cannon (similar delta DPS of Bile ML vs Zet and Dung Cannon).

    2)  I also would like to have the option available to us to use Threaded Archos Impact ammo.  This ammo flavor does not yet drop.  The difficulty in obtaining the parts to build Threaded Ammo should be rewarded with comparable DPS to the Bile Cannon.

You have to look at the bigger picture.

Balancing these weapons is more than just calculating the dps.

The bile weapons have no extra buffs on them so therefore warrant a bit more dps.

While the Archos has 'Improved Critical Targeting' and 'Improved Projectile Handling' hence the lower dps.

The other weapons you mentioned also have other buffs on them.

I'm sure the devs have long ago taken this into account and thats why the dps is where its at.

Sure I would like to see the archos have more dps but its probably not going to happen for the reasons mentioned.

They don't just willy nilly put these figures in there.

  3. Grr okay now new problem...

The login for the game is supposed to be the same as what I created here on the forums correct?

I see you have 2 different forum accts. The way you make a new game account is by going to net-7 portal

and go to the account tab and click create new game account.

No need to create a new forum account as you can create 9 game accounts under 1 email address,

effectively you are able to create 45 chars this way under 1 email.

If you plan on multiboxing, you can only login 1 char from each of these game accounts. So 9 total logged in.

    I hope this helps you.

  4. Well I did some exploring in Lagarto on my JE today and something is definitely weird.

I witnessed a lev 50 Bio Extractor put up rally and it also went on a lev 30 Rogue Progen.

The funny thing was it went on the back of its ship (Rogue Progens) and it looked to be flying backwards.

So I did more killing of Bio Extractors and decided to follow 1 of them.

While following it I hit it with chimaera 9 and it didnt turn around or do anything but keep flying.

I didnt shoot it yet, just kept following, then I hit it with shield sap and it still ignored me.

It finally came to its destination, yes it was on a mission, and we came upon 3 more Bio extractors beating up on

a lev 45 Sabine Reclaimer. Just as we got there the Sabine was killed and all 4 of the bios went there seperate ways.

Did some more killing and realized the lev 48 Rogue Progen Commander is dropping 'Yummo Rum' regularly.

It never used to drop this item.

Anyway these were my findings. Way more bios than there ever was.

They used to only gang up 2 at a time on the Sabine Reclaimer 45  or the Centuiata Warrior lv 50.

I never saw 4 of them do it ever til today and Ive mined up there for over a year now.

  5. Well something has definitely changed up there in Lagarto.

There just seems to be more Bio Extractors than normal.

The AI seems to be getting smarter.

I personally would never go there with anything other than my JE for solo mining.

The gravity well alone is enough to keep my PS out of there.

At least the TS and JE can warp through it. But for the PS its a no go for me.

    Way too many mobs.

  6. I've been seeing more bio extractors in Lagarto also.

Its not them grouping in formation but more like ganging up on you.

I think something has changed but any change is welcome to make it interesting.

The lev 48 rogue commanders there are far more devastating than the bios.

They see from very far away and use shield sap and other skills.

Lets just say I left there with a smoking hull more than a few times.

  7. Yea the removing of the ammo happens any time you use the net7 terminal in stations and do a transfer via the web.

If you dont have enough space in cargo, your ammo disappears.

On another note, I have been getting these erroneous messages when I log in my JE sometimes.

It starts as soon as I login with the installing message but the odd thing is the messages by the server make no sense.

Uninstalling things I cant even equip and dont own and  installing my current loadout.

    Heres a couple screenshots.

  8. Umm... I'm not so sure you are correct.

Declaration first: I do not possess any Raid-loot on any of my 12 toons (I can [multi-box] solo the Mordana groups in KV, but don't really consider that a "Raid"); I have never participated in any Raid in the Emulator.

But not because I don't want to raid; and not because I don't want to get my hands on all that lovely Raid/Rare Gear.

But because I want to *SAVOUR* this Game.

I was thrilled when my brother pointed me at the Emulator, telling me that it was as robust, reliable and accessible as the Live version ever was. It's like being able to Time Travel: to really live the Nostalgia. I played for 2 months solid prior to the September 2012 wipe; and have been playing solidly again since the beginning of this year. And I am in *NO* rush to reach the End Game.

And that's what having all the best Raid Loot means: being at the End of the Game. Where do you go once you have everything that is anything?

Towards the end of Live (about 3 months before Sunset was announced), I bought (via Ebay Auction) a character called "Weaponfinesse" (JD) from another player, for $2.5k. It was considred to be the most well-equipped character on Andromeda, and I certainly got a lot of attention for being the purchaser... But to be quite frank, there was something rather un-fulfilling about being able to just purchase my way to the top of the Loot Tree.

After Sunset was announced, a few people asked me if I regretted buying the character; but to be honest, it was the best thing I could have done, since getting my hands on all that gear had taken all the fun and anticipation out of the Game for me. So I didn't grieve as much as I might have, when the servers were finally shutdown.

In Games like these, getting everything there is to be got can really take the enjoyment out of the Game. I periodically start a new character in Skyrim, each time determined not to use the console codes to give myself all the kit I want. And I can usually hold that determination for a while... Whilst I do, I enjoy playing the Game as it was intended to be played. But sooner or later, I succumb to temptation: I "Magic" in some money; then some gear; then eventually bump up all the skills I want... At which point I mothball Skyrim again for another six months.

Of *COURSE* there's a part of me that would like to be able to wander up to a "Special" vendor in F7, and "Sort by Awesomeness" all the Uber-Gear I'm going to buy (that others have really worked hard for...). And I know that for at least an hour or so after purchasing all the Top-of-the-Line Gear, I'll really enjoy soloing Fish Bowls and one-shotting gate turrets... But where do I go after that?

Only one place I can go: onto these Forums to start haranguing the Dev Team to create more and more challenging MOBs; and more and more Uber-Gear (which at some point shortly after I'll then be complaining is "Too Rare").

I will, in time, get around to Raiding (especially if I can figure out which ones can be Sextuple-Boxed..!). I might even have to get around to joining a Guild to participate in those Raids I can't figure out how to multi-box by myself. And at that point, the rare Raid Gear will start trickling in to my inventories, and I'll really value those items I worked to get.

But until then... I think the Raid Gear *HAS* to stay rare/difficult-to-obtain. If it wasn't... If every player in this relatively small Community had every bit of kit they ever dreamed of having... All of the effort the Dev Team have put in and continue to put into keeping this Game going, would be for nothing.

As with all things in Life: you get back whatever you are willing to give. Players won't attach any value to the best items in the Game, if they are too easy to come by.

You are spot on Holyman, take the time to enjoy the game.

i agree with some of content of the doctor post...no need for the dark side....

The Darkside is not meant for the Doctor. That said he is all wrong about rare loot, it needs to stay rare.

  9. Hey I just want to report a couple of issues on the 'ship tab' of individual chars on the net-7 website.
These used to work but now don't.

    1. If I look at any of my Jenquai Chars. it shows no 'Damage/sec'. Always zero.
    2. A couple of my Terrans ships dont show up at all in the ship tab. Blank Screen. Retryed a couple times, still nothing.(Elliemay nad ProtonTS)

    Progen chars load fine.
  10. Lag is not really a problem on the server except for the RD Base raids.

The few times I had bad lag it turned out to be:

    1. The fan on my cpu was clogged with dust and dirt causing my cpu to overheat.
    2. The fan on my video card had stopped working causing it to overheat.
    3. Prototype reorder not being checked on the launcher.
