  1. Allllllllright we're getting worked up again and off topic. I'll pre-empt and close this. I know some of the issues mentioned are already on the bug tracker. If some of those are not, please post them there. I know a lot of eq buffs don't work yet. It was mentioned that energy leech being busted. Well, does it really have a problem or are you just dissatisfied with how it currently is? Take heart that now we are in Beta, balancing and adjusting will take more of a front seat, including CC, see cloak and so on.
  2. I'm seeing a lot of re-posts of the same ideas and as someone pointed out, they didn't even read previous posts before chiming in. There are a ton of ways to do things and many ideas and suggestions. There are so many that I doubt anyone could even summarize them without creating a many pages long document.

    It seems every so often it gets riled up here, so I'm going to close this topic for a while.[s] Don't worry, I'll re-open it later[/s]. Or, if someone does have the time and energy to summarize, we could start a new topic with that.

  3. Alright guys, take it easy. There is no need to inspect someone's life as to why they were not tending the server. Some people do check every time they can and fix it when possible. Some don't have the means and some have hectic and busy lives (or days).

    The goal is not to get the server up ASAP. The goal is to find out why the server crashed, and fix it. If it were as simple as restarting the server, and automatic process could do it. Then again, if things went that way the bug would either not be fixed, or be much more difficult to find. What is to say that the unfixed bug doesn't wreck havoc some other way and corrupt some data?

    I know we don't want that. :)

    Also, an earlier post by FireRibs did bring up a good point - it is generally polite to explain why you are voting someone down, and not because you are angry at them or decide you don't like them and subsequently vote every other post by them down.

  4. Personally my JE has died most of the times I pop a roid that explodes. I gather the idea is to make you really THINK about trying to mine that roid. I also am not sure if damage depends on roid level. As a dev has said before, there is inherent risk in trying to pop that roid when you are mining above your level. I know I was able to mine level 8 roids so early I laughed. Perhaps that should be addressed too...

    As to weather poprocks should be in jobs, I don't know if that was intended or not. I could see arguments for and against that. Easy solution is to forfeit the mission if you see a pop roid in your job field. Do you risk death for 4k, or move on?

    I believe the damage is tied to whomever tries to mine it. I think that should remain, but it should have a smaller chance of killing you, but it should still be there. Lets say a roid has a 20% chance to explode (vs mob, debuff or buff) Of that 20% chance maybe 10-20% chance to kill you, 10-20% chance for 1/3 dmg 10-20% half damage and so on.

  5. Neat, although I doubt a toggle would be available as that would probably be client related. I like the idea, plus the combat assist. I'm sure once we're farther along we'll have more dynamic content and events etc.

    Answer: No, the trade xp will not be available after using a vault transfer.

    /packetopt --------on|off---------Changes your UDP packet size. On=a size of 1400. Off = the default size of 512

  8. You bring up a good point - a "PVP Discussion" that excludes or ignores PVE players isn't a very good discussion.

    I've adjusted the title a bit, since PVP is not a sure thing and many things are up in the air. Plus, I would imagine it is a fair way off.

    Please just remember to stay civil. It does seem one side is heavily represented - just take it easy on the other. I know this is an emotional topic, but there should not be slighting or insulting.

    Question? A little off topic, during live when mobs had several types of weapons ie missiles, projectiles and beams, didn't missiles and projectile stop shooting when the mob was close enough to use their beams?

    And on that subject when did mobs have different type of damage output? I'm gettin hit with chemical, plasma and impact from one mob.

    About the PSI shield when does deflects count?

    If you have Ivory Ward or any other deflect item installed, when does the deflects work?

    Currently PSI shield shows that it is taking the full amount of damage and after the PSI shield is gone (In a few Hits) your deflects kick in so you take less damage on your shield and hull.

    I believe in Live that deflects worked all the time.

    Will:
    Not really the right place for this...
    but deflects do reduce the damage that Psionic Shield has to absorb.
    It won't look correct in the damage display, but it is working correctly.
  11. It's always neat when a theorized or predicted thing turns out to be true. On a completely different note, I just came across the unit of time measurement called a "shake" (10 nano seconds). Never heard of it until recently, but I guess that's not surprising considering it seems to be informal.
