I was pleasantly surprised to see some of the boss mobs being spawned in random locations. I think it is a great thing because it adds an extra bit of spice to the game. The boss mobs were of sufficient difficulty that you would need 2 well equiped groups to take them down. This requires multiple people working together to take down. I highly recommend that this continue in the future.
I have thought about it a lot and think that a vrix raid would be a great thing for the devs to cook up that would require engagement of many groups of people ( 4 or more groups assuming the lag is no longer an issue). The raid would be at random locations in the galaxy and have a short respawn timer (an hour or so). This would require players from all the guilds as well as the indie players to work together. You could make the reward for such a raid be decent items from the "adds" and a few uber items from the final boss kind of how the GoBB raid currently is. I would also put a new twist in this raid in the form of "unknown" items that you would have to take to a NPC for identification (idea stolen from the way you get AA devices). These unknown items could be super awesome items or pure crap like the cube of leach. You could also make these "unknown" items become hard to find manufacture-able items that people could try and print.
Imagine BI, VGE, Static, and the smaller guilds all fighting in the same raid! It would be like a pinata party for EnB. This would be similar to how the Controller Raid was for the players on Galileo many years ago when the server did the Controller Raid every Sunday together.
I am also eager to see some new sectors. I would like to see dangerous sectors filled with copious amounts of LVL 65 mobs along with massive grav wells/grav shears all around. You could add in a bit more flavor by not having any beacons anywhere in the sectors. Make the sectors so dangerous that you would not dare go there without a full group. The grav wells or shears would make having explores a must.

I think a new sector opening up in BBW would be nice where the lowest lvl mob is Lvl60. I would love the challenge of dealing with non-raid lvl 65 and lvl 64 drones. You could have a group made up of 5-6 of lvl 60 drones along with a single lvl65. This non raid group mobs could roam around the place like the non-raid groups at the the RD base

I understand why you want to get out of this raid business. At least come out and help take the raids down acting as only a player. We are always in need of bodies. Even if you don't want any loot, you can at least have fun in the raid. You don't even have to bring nice gear out. If you show up in some old "Gate Raid" gear and PM items, that would be fine by me. I know people are upset at losing quality on their items but I am kind of proud of my dented up gear because it is a memory of past battles that I have fought in.

RD Base Starts next week. I will try and organize a Raid on Monday or Wednesday. If I organize the raid, I will make it know well ahead of time in the General channel like I did last week for the Controller. I was the only Epic guy there because I did not allow the lack of Epic people online enter into my decision to organize the raid. I am trying to show by example that these raids are public. I will also be trying to organize raids later in the day to allow our friends in the southern hemisphere a chance to raid. I think the thing causing the most friction is the balance between the need to take down the raids and getting lots of people involved. I like raiding and the public week is a step in the right direction. Even with all the problems that we have had, I think we are all better off for it. The public raids keep us from stepping on each other's toes.
I know that some are upset by multi-boxing but I am finding it hard to find enough public people to fill three groups. I am looking at my notes and see 6 people on my loot list from the last controller that I ran (Thursday of last week). Many of those people had two toons there. They are all as far as I know "public" people. This raid was more difficult than it had to be because we ran with 2 groups instead of the three that I would prefer to have. The public was given ample notifications the previous day and in the run up to the raid in the general channel. I would prefer to run only 1 toon because it makes my life easier but this is a necessary evil until more people come out to raid.
To the public raiders reading this: RD base is next week. I will try and organize something on Monday or Wednesday. For the RD base you will need Chem for progens, EMP, Explosive or chem for terrans, and EMP/Energy for Jennies. The most important thing about this raid is ABSOLUTELY NOT using any area effect attacks. This would be any attack skill that has a yellow icon. The healers need to bring raid gear unless they don't mind getting dents in their nice stuff. The TT will get pounded hard. The best thing I have found to do is hull patch and hope that the Gorilla PW in your group can beat their chest hard enough to draw agro.
Loot at the RD Base: Level 8 Pride Device (very nice), Hellbores, Tractor Repulsor, Singularity Mortar, and tons of Blacksun devices. This raid drops some very nice items!

I want to keep the public thing going and work out the issues that we have been experiencing. I Lead a Controller Raid and advertised well in advance of the raid. I actually caught the trigger up at 5 am but held off until the noon time as advertised. I will try to keep the public channels up to date on expected spawn times. Maybe we can make a new thread and post the times that the last raid was completed along with an expected respawn time.
There is a delicate balance between the need to take the raids down so we are not wasting triggers and taking them down too quickly. I think another solution could be that the trigger will be taken down at the same time on designated days (i.e. Monday morning, Wednesday noon and Friday Night). There really is no way to enforce this plan but it would alleviate many of these new issues.

Controller is up in the next 24 hours. I want as many public people to show up. The last one was not very good because we only receive a few responses. I will say that a public guy won the best item that dropped at the raid ( Drone Energy Amplifier). Keep an eye out for the trigger and put it in General.

The real challenge will be when the Non-Trade items go up for randoms next week. There are many drops at the Controller that are non-trade and race specific. We need to get those details hammered out soon.
On another note, I like how we did GOBB this week. I organized the first one, Daath organized the 2nd one and Gizardpuke organized the third one. It was not dominated by any one group. I want to keep this up. The best way to keep these public raids going strong is for many to both learn how to do them and organize them. We will always have someone able to step up and take charge when ever the trigger is up.
Despite some of the challenges we had this week, I had a lot of fun. Next week will be new to me. I have not participated in a Controller raid for over a decade. Any input from the other guilds would be nice. I know plasma works but I also would like to know if explosive would be better because the Controller Raid is full of drones. I am thinking that Jennies could bring energy, terrans could bring explosive and progen bring the impact. If the progens grav link and the drones are debuffed for energy and explosive, they might go down quick. Input/feedback from the "big three" would be appreciated.

The GoBB that I am referring to was the open raid Sunday where the Devs spawn it over and over. GoBB was back up just a few hours after he was taken down by VGE and he did not require the Waking Nightmare to trigger. VGE was aware of it and made no objections to us taking it down. The Devs have been making extra spawning on Sundays.
The RD base raid that we formed started to kill the SDX when we were notified that the other group could not get in the area due to faction. Now with another server reset, who knows when we will get another shot at it.

We were actively forming up for a raid on Sunday when the server went down. The plan was to do GoBB and then RD base on Sunday because of the open Sundays from the GMs. We can't predict when the spawns will be taken by a crash.

I was there and helped kill GoBB. I am one of the "perpetrators". There were no BI or VGE people there. Magoo had no knowledge of it before hand. He had no influence on us doing it. Don't make this non issue into something it is not.
I just want the drama to end and start raiding.
For the record: We did not violate any rules or guild agreements. I also did not know who's week it was at the time I helped with the raid. Me doing the raid should also not be interpreted as a hostile act against any of the "Big 3" guilds.

I watched two GOBB raids under cloak with my JE and took detailed notes before we tried this raid. I also participated in 2 raids with VGE with my TE. I would prefer to do the same with the other raids so they are not wasted. We welcome all the helpful advise that we can get.
In the end we started and finished the GOBB raid on our own. It was not pretty (as seen by the 80+ min it took to finish BB) and there are some things the we would have done different but we went in with a plan and idea on how we were going to tackle this raid. I want to repeat this success on the other raids.

We are getting our sea legs still. In the end Black Beard was running around trying to get away from us. He tried hiding behind his rock but he was unable to escape us.

Thanks again to Builders Inc for giving Epic a chance to prove ourselves and do this raid. It was well worth it for burning that vacation day so I could play today.

It has been almost 10 years since EnB Died and I just came across this site. I too was on Galileo as a Terran Enforcer. I remember some of the names in this string of posts. I played until the end trying to build the perfect character.
Is a way to get my old character back? Were Wellington and Sealclubber brothers? I am trying to remember who helped me with a ton of good loot before sunset by giving me their loot. I was at one time in the Scorned. I took it over from a guy named Buckles when he left. I remember that he liked amateur rocketry.

The Reactor power is never an issue for me if I am buffed with 30% recharge. With a base of 90 u/s and all the buffs, the reactor is fully charged from 0 in only a few seconds.
