I'm quite happy for builds to be difficult as it then rewards the people who spend time developing those skills - many of which are expensive or time-consuming.  But if there is a build-curve then I wish there was guidance from the devs explicitly stating what those factors are so we can work at them. Work=reward rather than mindless activity=frustration.

     

    From what I can glean:

    Obviously Build level

    Station faction

    Number of prints analysed - is that a percentage of devices, or shields or whatever, or is it all builds combined.  Do TTs have a build in advantage once they build lists across all of their skills. Or can a non-TT specialise in their build skills and get good?

    Number of builds made - is it skill in a particular item, skill at a level, skill at devices or whatever?

    Things like the matrix device that add to build skills.

    Interface/Overrides - can we get these working again?

    Grouping with other builder?

    Rabbits foot?

    Fingers crossed?

     

    Do I bother stripping and rebuilding everything I loot to make a 200% DG possible, or do I just need to crack open 5-10 DGs and rebuild those?

     

    I like to build, and I like to get 200% and I'm happy to devote credits and time to get what I want.  But I don't like wasting my limited time I have.  My advice is to either accept your own lousy quality, work on it, or cop out and go to our fave builders - props to Vaden, Magoo et al who support us in our hour of need.

     

    (Its the same with Turbo - the average player(?) struggles to comprehend the various posts on the mystique of Turbo stacking.  Just let us know the math behind it.)

  2. HEY! A lot of familiar names there. I may be rejoining the game very soon. I'm recovering from a series of eye ops (since early 2012) and am not quite at the stage I should be playing for more than an hour at a time. However, things are looking brighter - literally. Seeing old pals will be a big bonus.
  3. One way to solve this is to make some big money sinks so credits become more valuable. Make a couple of missions with some absurd mineral and parts requirements and a something like a 500mil payment. Give a choice of things like a 'looted' Black Speed, DG, other nice stuff. Some may say things are only meant to be looted from GOBB. Meh. A second (difficult) route gives people outside the big guilds a chance at things, and it would eat money.

    You will still end up with the big players with all the stuff and all the money, but there will be many players who decide a 500m balance is just the ticket to spend on a new ML or laser.

    I'm missing the game - I'm nursing a badly damaged left eye since April and I have strict limits on how long I can use a computer - rats....
    Things are improving though and I cannot wait to return.
  4. +4 Rez. When do we have to for a line for Scooter and other bosses too? I'd like to think the big guilds (after farming the raids for weeks) would step aside if lesser mortals put together a group. Or if there was something going down - invited a lesser mortal to join them? It happens sometimes. ???

  5. High level players can just as easily mop up all the jobs as low level players. Its not the killing process, its the job collection process. I've seen a page of jobs disappear within a second or two. The botter has a macro that auto-clicks to take 6 jobs, and then discards the jobs they dont want to take. Smart - yes, fair gameplay - no.

    Same kind of people mop up gas in the same way - often carrying a couple of toons leveling up explore. Poproids are a good deterent. Lets have some explosive gas clouds with a unit of hydrogen in them with a random chance of BOOM.

    I don't buy the 'attended bots are OK' thing - botting is botting.
  6. My main comment is that we should ensure that loot DOES drop, noting that the next content patch will include 50 or so of the missing items. Also looking forward to the opening of Ardus and Der Todesengel one day. I'd also like a little bit more love for hulks so that more special items do occasionally drop even very rarely. I remember Endriago having some sexy stuff - now AWOL.

    Part of my enjoyment is finding these items, and although I scour the existing resources and have a pretty good spreadsheet you cannot beat going round every location and sampling every mob you meet. Every day I fit max scan and go round a couple of systems scavenging. For me - that is the game.

  7. I think OCD should be a long project requiring dedication - it has a good reward for builders.

    The FB should be easier though. You can farm RD to get the feather, and it does drop reasonable frequently. The ooze is too hard. If I understand correctly you may need to camp the Sagut 15x and still not get a drop. Perhaps move it to a more common L36 in a couple of systems.

    While we are on drops I remember lannister posting about stuff that should drop that dont. There are several 'common' lines that don't complete. I search all over for some of these and never seem to get the drop even though the DB suggests it should drop, or there are mythical mobs that cant be found, or there simply isnt a source except perhaps the hulkfest. Are these gaps deliberate for future expansion or are we interested in what is missing. Examples I have are Helix 8, Mace 5, Petit capalata, Kites, Heaters, Black Widow 8, Badaxe, Claymores. I appreciate some are just my limited experience and the classy builders no doubt have found them somewhere????
  8. I like Will's suggestions. Love Hull Patch, NullFactor, Instawarp

    Please do not remove Hull Patch as this is one of the best features of the TS. You can lick your wounds after a poproid or MOB. You cannot truly tank big mobs but you can certainly retreat and try again.

    I'd like to see TS specific equipment.

    If Hacking stays I'd like to see it tweaked so you can do more - individually choose scanblind, stop weapons, bust shields, sap energy, etc. Make it a full skill point skill. Make some devices or buffs that make hacking more of a certainty. Make the hack cycle longer? Its useless trying to hack for just 5secs of weapon downtime.

    I'd like to see a TS only debuffer for plas/chem or even perhaps an impact with a new missile type or two?
    ML-X17 Arachnid L7-9 - Impact only, +MLrange, +hack +mining range
    Device Piledriver's Great Wallop -Impact and -sig

    If you replace Hacking then perhaps a stealth mode - perhaps not full cloak but maybe better sig reduction. However most of us know how to get down to zero sig anyway, but it would reduce the need to fit devices/mods.

    I'd like to see a Telescopium-like device for scan boost. Perhaps not quite as good as the Telescopium.

    I'd like to see a device that extends the mining distance past 2.5k.

  9. I see this whole project as a huge privilege - to be able to play E&B again - and props to all the developers for the thousands of hours that have gone into this. We all know how heart-wrenching it is to lose our chars, but we all have the experience and knowledge to level up pretty quickly. In fact I think a new start will be good for the game with people working together to do their stuff.

    Having been in ST2 and ST3 I'm just amazed ST4 is still going and I can enjoy pushing into the high-end stuff a little more. For me the endgame not about being able to spank L60 stuff for a little longer, its about wandering around the maelstroms, Ardus and Der Todesengel again, seeing Vrix again, get the disabled missions working again, new missions and kit, and perhaps see yet-to-be discovered systems, and even new raids (loved the Halloween raid - pretty please can we have the figurine drop again - even if rarely). We have seen great progress, and I'm sure there is more to come. If a wipe helps, a wipe helps.
  10. So the real issue is that some people have more prints than others and there are not enough players? I'd suggest we open Ardus and Der Todsangel, look at loot tables, and invent or reopen some missions like Zach. And then do some advertising and promotion (personally and by the team) to get more players.
