  1. I understand why a player wipe could be needed for testing purposes, but IMHO the continuity of the Earth & Beyond emulator community is also very important. Continuity of characters may lead to certain players having an advantage over other players, but so far all of the rich players in the game are also the most helpful!
  2. To quote The Right Stuff: "You boys know what makes this bird go up? FUNDING makes this bird go up."

Would telling the players that there is NOT going to be a player wipe increase donations? Can the project move from ST4 to alpha to beta to live and keep the characters intact?
  3. My ship now warps to 1.0k from any asteroids, where previously, my ship would warp to 0.0 from the asteroid. Was this change intentional?

Also, would it be possible to have initiating prospecting to drop cloak? This was how it worked on live.
  4. Tell the playerbase that there will not be another playerwipe and I bet they will start paying more attention to their credits in versus their credits out.

Also, add a vendor who will for credits, increase the quality on an item by 1%, therefore tah-da -> credit sink!
  5. This may seem out-of-the-box, but IMHO if the player vault size was increased (multiple vaults, larger vault, infinitely large vaults, whatever) it would allow builders to stockpile, on their builder characters, all of the comps, ores, refined ores, etc.. that they need to build what they have printed. As it stands, a builder would require multiple "vault-alts" to hold all of the required stock to be able to build everything they have printed. Now since it is a real pain-in-the-rear to do this, the prevailing business model is the one where the buildee goes out, acquires the comps needed for the build, hands them to the builder at F7, the builder presses the button and the buildee gets their gear. Allowing builders to easily vault what they need to go into business, would allow them to provide finished products to the buyer, which would demand that the buyer be charged.

PS Increasing the vault size might make inventory management even more difficult, would it be possible to implement a slash command to switch between multiple standard-size vaults on one character?
  6. Not exactly a JE skill, but the Phoenix device line was one of the defining devices that a JE had and used a lot on live, especially during raids (JS, then a double zap with a couple L9 Phoenixes, or keeping the TT's reactor full, etc...). It would be greatly appreciated if the Phoenix devices could get some "Dev Luv". Thank you.

The devices that buff prospect have no effect on the range at which you can prospect, instead they reduce time and energy requirements on prospecting.

Thank you, Terrell, I am still cleaning the rust off of my EnB knowledge.

I can report that I can know prospect out to 2.5k. Not sure if a chance was pushed, or I am just paying closer attention.

with the exception of one or two L9 devices my PS uses L8's for this reason exactly.

This is also how I use devices on my JE, L8 for devices that will remain equipped and L9 for devices that are swapped in for buffing and then promptly replaced with L8. I would gladly have all of the added buffs on the L9 devices removed if it also meant the added debuffs were removed also.

IMHO, I think it would greatly benefit the game if debuffs were removed from most (all?) items. As it stands, a lot of gear in the game is not used because it has debuffs. Instead of adding more equipment to the game, making existing gear more useful, would benefit the players and the builders who would be able to actually build more diverse items instead of the usual suspects.

I agree, JE's were able to mine while cloaked. That was one of my favorite past-times was cloaking and mining in areas I shouldn't. If I dropped out of cloak to mine then they wouldn't have mentioned the fact that a JE can "slip in and mine under an enemy's nose" in most class descriptions of a JE.

The second you would mine... you would get destroyed unless ship sig was so low that they couldn't see you.

If I recall correctly, you could not mine while actively cloaked, but initiating mining on an asteroid would automatically drop your cloak and then you could promptly re-cloak once the mining laser finished its cycle. The ore just mined would then be tractor beamed into your hold while you were cloaked. So in a way, looting while cloaked works, it is just that to initiate looting now, you have to drop cloak, while in live, you did not have too.

Prospect sometimes doesn't work at maximum range. 2.5K for L7. Other than that the skill works properly.

Now that you mention it, I can confirm this, I just thought I needed a higher level device to get back up to the 2.5k range.
  11. I also remember being able to loot while cloaked, hence the term from live of "Ninja Looting".

Cloak: At level 6, it does not provide the cloaking bonus to other group members (or perhaps they just don't appear semi-cloaked, I will need to test this). When I have a level 6 cloak active (allows warping while cloaked) and in warp, my character's ship will appear to be uncloaked. I have not yet tested the level 7 version of cloak. Another bug is that when cloaked, initiating a pull on an asteroid should break cloak and the prospect skill should be activated. The way it works now, is that you have to manually drop cloak and then initiate the pull.

Navigate: At level 7 of this skill, my character should have a 50% chance of being able to warp thru a gravity well. This is not the case. As soon as he hits a gravity well, he is pulled from warp and is unable to even attempt to re-warp. Also, this skill is currently a passive only skill, but it would be very handy if a JE could select to apply a lower level of this skill so they can tour other players and not skip like three-quarters of the normal navs.

Once I have more skill points, I will be testing the other JE skills.

Skills with no issues to report: Create Wormhole and Prospect.
