  1. Actually, I rather like the tamer EnB on the emulator. The players get along (usually), people help each other freely, and we all try to make each others playing experience enjoyable. In a sense, essentially we all belong to the same guild of EnB. I really don't think that culture will change. Competition for high end gear, or prizes awarded by the devs may make things a bit more interesting, but I don't believe that it will engender a fundamental change in the player's actions towards one another. Live was fast paced, expensive (regarding purchases made in game of player crafted items or rare loot) and sometimes unpleasant with obnoxious players, kill stealing, and others who tried to game the system. But for all of that it was still fun, if a bit more tense. Frankly, I am just grateful to be playing EnB again and more especially so given the gaming culture that predominates on the emulator.
  2. OK, thanks for the info. Will just have to be patient then :-)
  3. Hi, I am having some issues with the emulator. I am running a self built box with an i7 processor, 9 Gig of Ram, EVGA X58 LE mobo, and EVGA GeForce 465 GTX video and I also have a Creative Labs SB X-Fi installed with surround speakers. My OS is Windows 7 64 bit. Although I can overclock my machine, I have not done so in order to establish a baseline for performance and to await liquid cooling that I will purchase and install in January. So all of the settings are per manufacturer's specs. As to the problem, I have been experiencing times when I either enter or leave dock that the system hangs and there is no recovery. Also, when logging into the Sunrise server I select my PW and then enter and I get the Blue Galaxy manp and then it hangs again. If I wait long enough, the client terminates and I see the error message "Bad Opcode through proxy" displayed many times. I am not behind a proxy server and my ISP is a cable modem provider. I assume that the problem may be in relation to the Net 7 launcher or server, but I am not certain. Last night when I logged in and received the new update the game played great for a couple hours and then the same problem emerged once again. I have tried running it with packet optimization and reorder both checked and unchecked and I get the same results. Also, I run the client and the Net 7 launcher as administrator with XP SP 2 compatibility. Any assistance that anyone could render would be appreciated.
  4. When the sun set on EnB years ago I never thought that I would see the sun rise on it again. There was scuttlebutt about an EnB emulator and somebody even tried to purchase the server softs from EA, but I seriously doubted that I would ever get the chance to log on again. Six years later I find Net-7 up and running and I brush the dust off of my EnB client disks and here I am once again. Thank you so much to the lead developers, whoever is supplying the server space, and the fans who never said die. This is a remarkable accomplishment and it was only your determination that made it possible for us old timers to return to the cockpit.
