spydercat
I got home from work and when to play EnB. Got the update screen, updated, then I hit play. The DOS showed, this: Net7Proxy version 1.71 03/01/10 20:59:37 Params: /Address:217.160.5.19 03/01/10 20:59:37 Params: /CLIENT:E:\EARTH&~1\release\client.exe 03/01/10 20:59:37 Params: /POPT 03/01/10 20:59:37 Attempting to connect to IP address: 217.160.5.19 03/01/10 20:59:37 Sending login. 03/01/10 20:59:42 login failed - server not found and a messagebox shows up saying this: Server Failed to respond to Login attempt Tried every variation of logging in I could think of, no change. When I first started Net-7 it updated to 249, and then it's updated a few more times since then (now 252). Error still persists. One thing I found, but have no idea if this is a relevant problem is the hostname certificate I ran Check Certificate and got this: LaunchNet7 - Warning Certificate for "play.net-7.org" is not valid or not installed. Install certificate now? I pressed yes, the messagebox went away and then I hit Check Certificate again. Got the same messagebox. Got this for the error log (maybe helpful) LaunchNet7.Error.log LaunchNet7 - Exception Version: 1.9.2.0 Time: Sun, 03 Jan 2010 23:55:39 GMT Message: Could not launch client. spydercat
Just got it fixed. It was mainly a glitch with my firewall. (small problem with the update but that's been fixed as well) If you're still having a problem, check your firewall, or disable it to see if that's causing your problem as well. Su54N0
I assumed it to be firewall issue as well, but this doesn't seem to be the case since I disabled and even uninstalled my fw temporarily for testing purposes. However, I figure it has something to do with the server certificates. When I use the launcher and "check certs" it will tell me that the certificate is not installed and whether I would like to have it installed. When I continue it will randomly either do obviously nothing or pop a warnig that it could not receive the certs from the server since it wasn't responding. A friend os mine has EXACTLY the same issues although he is using Windows XP Home 32bit and ZoneAlarm fw and I am using Win7 64bit and Comodo fw, so it can't neither be a UAC or fw problem afaik. I'd append an error log but strangely the launcher doesn't create one.
