Understand, but at the very least we're going to look at it for a while. It is concerning to me just as a point of note when someone told me a jenquai defender could solo a level 58 mob. That was one of the things that initially alerted us to the fact that the PW had a bug with the shield sap/nova skills that caused them to be all but immortal once before. No solo toon should be fighting something that level without INCREDIBLE resistances. 55+ is intended to be group content as the game only goes to 66 no matter what. We will never be able to introduce higher level mobs without a new game client. A new game client is not now and probably won't be in the works for us due to all that would go into it and no ability to pay the people who could possibly do it. (not to mention the timeline to develop and test it).

Throwing this out there Kyp, although this is somewhat separate from the issue of combat cloak damage in and of itself. If this is the present design philosophy, this is actually different from the original EnB. I played a JE, so by NO means a dedicated combat class. But, I was a very good player. I was able to solo cl66 mobs in ore fields, cl60 named voltois, corrupted bullyweres, and it took me a few hours but I even soloed a named V'rix boss in Roc. Seeking out and attempting some of the toughest non-raid challenges in the game and bringing them down with only my JE was one of my very best memories of the original game. It is also one of the very reasons that made me start up playing again on the emulator. I certainly couldn't handle everything, there were enemies with too much range or that moved too fast, used certain skills, etc. But quite often, if I wanted to solo something and really put my mind to it, I could. Even as a lowly JE. I *just* hit OL150 the other day, so I haven't had the time (or gear) to try my hand at such challenging combat again. I  just truly hope that this design philosophy hasn't removed one of the things I enjoyed the very most about the original game.

  2. As a JE that just hit OL150 for the first time, I gotta say this nerf hurt. Combat was slow enough before against anything over cl40, now its painstakingly slow. It takes over a minute of solid effort to kill a debuffed cl46 RD. I'll probably just go back to mining and hoping for an AA device.

  3. You're right, there are tools to create some content. I apologize for forgetting that. However, since the GM tool isn't available to the public, the server isn't complete and not in compliance with the CC license you're using. (Again, my personal opinion)

While I'm not a programmer or anything, having the GM tools available to everyone doesn't seem like a particularly smart idea either way. Open source is good, but too much of a good thing(available GM tools) can be bad. Just my opinion.

  4. Heh something else I miss from the old style base raid was the epic feel of the areas. On live it was like going into a heavily fortified blockade. You had incredibly powerful turrets with over 20k range or something ridiculous in a huge defensive shell around the area. You had full carriers with hellbore missiles and command centers on them. There were squadrons of ghost shadow dragons patrolling throughout the area. It really made you feel like you were in the enemies home base and in the center of all their military might.

Can't wait for it all to be implemented again.

Also, is it just me or is Nesshix the Hand missing from the fishbowl?

  5. Something to note on pop rocks. Is there any possibility of the hulks not being eligible for popping? While it was in live, in all honesty it was one of the most infuriating things about the entire game for me. It was like, holy crap a l9 leopard spots device is in that hulk!!!! Warp up to it. Boom. *punches a hole in the wall* I would honestly love for pop rocks to be expanded to other forms of roids rather than being left as incredibly disheartening F-U's on hulks. The fact that the good hulks always seemed to do it just added insult to injury.

  6. Not sure if you've got this info suricata, but I figure I may as well post it anyways. Its a full writeup for the Zekes raid mission and what you need to do it.

Also, I found the specific pop rock mob drop I was trying to remember the other day. http://www.earthandbeyond.ca/itemsmarket/pages/item.php-item_id=3812&tab=Locations-Prices&qual_mode=1&qual=100.htm

Cl50 Dimming Obtenerates from l8 pop rocks, with the brownish crystal titan style model. Trying to remember that thing was bugging me for days.

  7. Btw Merlin I've got a question on ore fields. For the guardian mobs in the fields, is the end goal to make the guardians/pop mobs the same as they were in live where possible, or to simply create what works for the emulator? I used to mine a lot in live so I remember a decent amount of the field guardians, their levels, models, etc. Many of which aren't(yet?) the same as in live.

  8. On the note of raids, is the fishbowl and controller going to go back to the original tiered methods? Kill some trash, small boss, more trash, slightly less small boss, etc etc and finishing with the big guy. Also curious if the old lure method will be used again for fishbowl or if it will be the current less restrictive method of doing it.

Also on the note of raids, what about the bunyip? We gonna have to start feeding him again sometime?

  9. Personal opinion on something I remember from live. The prototype gear used to help my JE a lot, and sadly doesn't seem to be implemented yet. The beams especially we're even useful at endgame due to their incredible range, and the shields were good pre-endgame too due to the respectable capacity on them.

Any idea where the prototype gear stands on the to-do list?

  10. I would very much prefer wipes remain a 'last resort' or 'testing stage transition'.

I completely agree with this. As much as I loved and still love EnB, I don't have the time to keep re-leveling characters. Especially since I play a JE and the combat grinding is agonizing. The last time there was a wipe I just decided to stop playing for 5-6 months, it just wasn't worth the effort to go through the painful leveling process again.

Wipes should be absolute last resort. If new low level content needs to be tested, simply ask people to level an alt so people like me aren't driven away from the testing entirely.
