  1. Running Win7 64 bit Professional, did the Windows Live 2011 update and game still runs fine. To be truthful I didn't do the full update, it gave me the option to download the full windows live 2011, or to download the update just for the programs I already had installed and I chose the latter option and I didn't take the time to see how many applications I actually have installed but I'm guessing not many.

  2. Did you accomplish this by first installing debian on your droid? I have a really hard time seeing it running even then.

    Based on the 420* in your name and the avatar pic, I'm going to take a shot in the dark and say you are either a programming student at some community college who was able to create a version of pong for your android, thus calling yourself a "professional", or somebody just yankin Mimir's chain to see what you can get started on the forums.

  3. I guess its true what they say, you can't miss what you never had. I can only prospect about up to lvl 6 right now, and the lvl 4,5,6 hulks were always gone or had crap in them by the time I got to them, I got a bunch of lvl 2 proto stuff, but never had a need for that and frankly haven't even checked to see if that has been taken away (doesn't really matter to me one way or the other).

    I was happy to find a new roid field in Inverness with a few new guardians. I guess I'm getting accustomed to the fact that we are a loooooong way off from any significant new content (ie: V'rix, Mordana, Der Tode, etc), so I'm just going to be content with what's out there right now, remember this is still a stress test, and roll with the punches.

    I would love to take a crack at the server code on my own and see what I could break. I have some C++ experience, probably not even close to the extent that Tien has, but if I could find something useful to help out the project, I would like that opportunity.

Is there anybody from the dev team that would care to throw in a comment about all the other spawn timers and whether this is something that should be moved to the bug section or if this was an intended change and we just need to deal with it. Honestly ever since I hit about cl40 on my PP (TL has been at 50 for awhile), I will load up with about 3 extra stacks of ammo per weapon, go out for a few hours and kill some mobs until my ammo runs out, take the loot back and sell it, notice that my CL meter has moved maybe 10%, and decide to run trade runs for about an hour and a half or so and pick up the rest of my CL to get to the next level. Now with spawn timers increased, I only go hunting mobs if I need a particular loot item, or if someone wants to do some group killing, otherwise I only do trade runs to level up. Still seems a little unbalanced to me, and I'm not suggesting that trade needs to get nerfed again, it just seems like all these changes are being made to make it harder to level which is a little discouraging. Agree? Disagree?

  6. I think BBW and Paramis should be faction based, as it was in live. I like the idea of having to earn things in games.

    The Tado-O gate I think should be similar to live, but not exact. Maybe a shorter quest to obtain an item to open it.

    As for what Starfox said about solo mining, the big thing right now is signatures are not totally working properly. For example, in live I had a JE that could get below 0.0 and could mine all day long in roid fields with mobs and never be seen, that's how it should be. Once that is fixed you won't have to group anywhere to mine and be safe.

    I agree with these gates being factioned but not yet. IIRC from live, killing v'rix improved your RD faction and there were v'rix everywhere. Since we are missing this large group of mobs to help RD faction (and with the respawn timers seeming to have been increased on Chavez) I think we should wait until the v'rix are back in game before we faction these gates again.

  7. I keep meaning to mention this, and it usually takes somebody else to bring it up first for me to remember what I wanted to put in the forums.

    In addition to what Merquise mentioned above, it seems that all of the higher level (27+) Chavez have a much longer respawn time than they used to. The 40's and 50's in Paramis, the high 30's in Rag, and the high 20's in Odin Rex used to respawn relatively quickly. I haven't put a timer on them, but it sure seems to take a really long time for these guys to come back now.

  8. I'm not sure what level the PW's giving chase are. The JW however isn't trying to fight the PWs he's running away from them, and PWs aren't exactly known for thier speed, though JW's aren't exactly fast either. Only the PW is slower. The PT is equal, everyone else is faster than the JW, even the PE.

    Maybe its a turtle race to see who is the slowest.

  9. If you look at the intro movie, the JW that's being chased by the 3 PWs is at least L100, he may be L135+.

    That part of the video always bothered me, why would it take 3 PW's to take down a JW, unless the JW is L100+ and the PW's are all L40.

  10. No no, I mean just more being listed. I'm not against them being added. I was just dropping a very vague hint that job lists are in part responsible for some of the lag people have experienced, though it's already being fixed now.

    Is/was there an issue with the database getting queried too often over and over trying to populate the job terminals?

Well, here's the thing, you have to view the Earth as a phased opponent, wherein its an understood rule that the Earth has multiple layers which in turn requires different types of weapons and tactics to be used at each layer. My old D&D days 20+ years ago, we actually had created an Earth character where the hit points were based upon the thickness of each layer. So the crust was succeptable only to physical attacks and had 40 hit points, the Magma (being a less solid and more resiliant substance) were immune to physical attacks but weaker against magic had 2800 hit points, outer core took 3/4 damage on both physical and magic attacks and had 1300 hit points and the inner core took 1/2 damage on both physical and magic attacks and had 1200 hit points. So total the Earth had 5340 hit points. We also had arguments about how many levels thick the Earth character should be and whether or not to take into account the atmosphere as some type of shield, but this is what we ended up with.

  12. For whatever its worth, I would opt for the first option to just wipe the PTR player database every week. If a user is truly using the tool for its intended purpose, this shouldn't cause any issues. If someone just wants to use it to play in the FB every day, then they can take the time once a week to set the levels again and go get their gear, or do what they should do and just level up on the play server.

    But again, thats just my opinion.

  13. I hope the fix won't be by nerfing the lower-level engines. :)

    Correct me if I'm wrong Kyp but I don't believe you are talking about nerfing lower level engines as much as are you talking about thrust and maneuvarability being more evident (or useful) for the higher level engines than what exists now? Or perhaps some buffs that aren't working now that will be working later?

    As I have stated before I never got very far in live, so I have no frame of reference as to what the capabilities of engines were at levels higher than 4 or 5, and as of right now in the emulator, don't see any need to increase my skill level in that area any higher than 5 (which is where it is at right now).

  15. It seems to be a common issue whenever there is a conversation going on in New Players that should be in Out of Context, as soon as a GM comes in and asks that the conversation be moved, there is always at least one person who wants to go on the defensive and complain that they are being "attacked". At that point, I think its time to hit the power button, go outside and get some fresh air.

    BTW Chuck Norris can win connect-4 in 3 moves.
