    Let's put this into perspective, it is a temporary change while we audit the existing fields. We know what they were all set to, we pulled a report, but you have to understand there were some fields that were in places that they should not have been, were not in live, and that had well over 300 individual roids that spawned in 30 minutes or less, I certainly never found any spot in live where there were 300 roids in less than 1k of diameter, and I'd say if we were to ask the original devs of Westwood they would balk at such an idea. This leads to an unclearable field, we watched these fields and it certainly seemed that only some people knew about them.

    Couple of questions. How long is "temporary"? Could the audit have taken place first and then nerf the questionable fields instead of nerfing all the fields? (if these fields have been in there for a while a couple more days wouldn't kill the "economy", what would really kill the economy is the issue with expensive ammo)

  2. Anyone here with the problem ask for removal of that mission ID.

    I had just finished the Capture the Cargo mission last night and there was not a GM on to assist. Wasn't sure if it had to be done in game, or if I could post something here and hope a GM would fix the issue while I was away.

    It was the first time I have ever attempted/completed the Capture the Cargo mission though I do remember having to complete a different mission a long time ago that sent me out the Pax Decima.

  3. Well here's a situation you may not have thought of.

    I took the mission with the Terran side in 61 Cygni,my task ? He wants 10 stacks of Rainbow Silicon.That works out to 3600 individual pieces of Charons Dust.It took me 5 days of constant mining to collect just half,simply because the fields are so sparse of that ore.

    The 3 good fields that I did find,in 3 different sectors,would give 30-50 per clear field.

    Now they give 8-10 per clear field.So do the math,that means I have another 15 days to get the rest just to finish one mission.

    Just admit a mistake was made and put it back the way it was.

    Do you have a comp builder or did you ask in market channel for someone to break down the comps that provide Rainbow Silicon? May take awhile to break down enough to get you 600 of them, but certainly won't take as long as trying to mine that much Charons Dust.

    However I agree with your point, if the amount of available ores have been decreased, than anything that requires a certain number of ores to complete (missions, builds, etc) should be decreased accordingly.

  4. It's annoying to an explorer to find L2 items in L8 hulks, with no L7+ items in it. It effectively means that the hulk labeled L8 is really L2 or L3.

    I would rather have a hulk that contains nothing but goes poof rather then finding a lvl 2 item in a lvl 7 or 8 hulk. Two bonuses there. 1. You don't have to bother cluttering your hold with useless crap just so you can clear the field. 2. Cherry pickers won't leave a dozen or more hulks around that have nothing but lvl 2 garbage in them.

  5. We will be doing things with the fields, but the fields that were out there made ore useless. We may add back areas similar (not as many roids) but would need a group to mine it because of mobs. I have seen many macro miners sitting at these spots and using them to simply level to 150 without having to do anything.

    Another case of a very small portion of the community ruining the game for everyone else. Besides, if this is the way that someone wants to level themselves to 150, more power to them, there is a lot to do in the game on the way to 150 that I prefer doing. Missing out on the field clear bonus because of a macro miner is not going to ruin my day. The economy is already messed up beyond repair, nerfing the roids now is not going to change the fact that people out there already have over a billion credits.

  6. And let's not forget the mobs are also decreased in numbers. Not sure what is going on here. But it is getting harder and harder to find any reason to play. No Mobs...so no problemo I'll switch to a miner, no ores...oops no mobs and no ores, guess I can always explore... but then what?

    Well then you do a progen mission...oh wait...stuck on that too.

  7. I completed the mission (killed genetic cargo mob, spoke to PAX Decima ship, and got the symbol of loyalty) but Memnon on Primus planet will only give me his default voice-over talk tree.

    Should I request removal of mission ID 256 as well?

    Same here, I tried talking to both Memnon's (the one on Primus planet and the one in Arx Tiberius who is doing shots) and both are default talk trees.

  8. Who knows... If Byahkee wanted me to drop dead of utter amazement he would answer a question instead of more riddles. Sometimes a simple answer is all that is needed not further explanation on how the missions will or won’t work.

    Well not just Byakhee I'm also trying to understand exactly what Matt's issue is currently. From what I have read, Matt has taken his BPOMT to Var and got the Capture the Cargo mission. He has completed the mission, Var give him his Symbol of Loyalty. From what I read in one of Byakhee's posts, you are supposed to be able to turn the Symbol of Loyalty into Gatekeep Memnon to get another mission that rewards you with BB samples. It sounds like that is what Matt is stuck on, Memnon is not giving him this mission.

  9. Ok I am trying to understand the issue here as I will be attempting this mission soon. It sounds to me like the Capture the Cargo mission 7.1 that Byakhee is describing is a mission that Matt has been able to complete and get his Symbol of Loyalty. So now is the issue that Matt is not able to get the BB mission? Am I missing something else?

  10. We're actually actively working on a turn-in system to power the repository among several other cool features/quests/missions/jobs/andotherstuff ;)

    That almost sounds like more new content. Could there actually be a new content push coming soon as opposed to bug fix pushes?

  11. I just wanted to point out that some suggestions do get implemented in this game. It is much better trying to grind out these last few levels to 150 now that I have only one jump from F7 or Prasad to complete the combat jobs.

    I'm usually not one to point out grammatical/spelling/word usage errors because I'm sure I've made a few of my own on these boards, but this one kinda made me chuckle. :P

    I'm glad that now that you are back playing, you don't have to abstain anymore. Sometimes people just don't understand how important this game really is. <_<

  13. Was wondering if you could add some combat mobs to guard the fields, at least in zones outside of Glenn ( because Glenn is supposed to be a safe zone)

    I have mixed feelings about this. I like the idea of having an aggro mob on a field to clear out any macro miners, but most non-max level miners are usually mining way above their current CL. So while the mob that is protecting the field is keeping the macro miner away, it is also keeping me (non macro miner) away because I'm mining 6,7 fields but my 2 lvl 3 beams would not be anywhere near enough to take down the 30+ mob that would probalby be used to protect it.

  14. Don't forget that ideally players would be relying on each other rather than another character they play. Our player base is a bit small, but hopefully eventually enough of all classes will be on to get what you need without need to resort to another of your own characters. For example, it can be a bit hard to get ore you need to manufacture, but ideally (and eventually) enough miners would be on and willing to go find some of what you need.

    That is very true and there usually is at least a few people on who have a max level toon (and our guild usually maintains a collection of ores and comps for), but in the instance where nobody is available to provide what I need, I like to have that ability to provide for myself. And also have the ability to provide for others.

  15. I just want to mention how glad I am to see this post. As other can probably attest to there have been instances in the past where an action similar to this has been taken without warning. I have no problem giving up my 34 UAA now that I know they will be useless in the future. In all honesty, anything you have right now will be useless in the future when the games goes to beta/live, but it is nice to have someone come out and say "Hey, we are doing this"

  16. Why are mobs "spawning" away from their anchor position and traveling to their anchor position?

    For example - the Chavez spawn that includes Miguel Chavez - The Nagato Maru all seem to spawn way off to the north of the anchor point for the spawn. In fact the spawn is so far north it's way off the edge of the sector where a player cannot travel. Remote spawning and traveling doesn't make much sense to me.

    If it's a bug well I suppose it may get fixed.

    If it's a new feature then sorry but it sucks and may be it ought to be explained.

    It sucks because it makes spawn times longer due to the mobs traveling. A player can camp the path between the spawn and the anchor point and intercept and kill everything. Another player going to the anchor point and waiting for a spawn doesn't know the other player is intercepting the spawn and ends up believing their is no spawn i.e. broken.

    If it was to fix "mob warping" well I think I could put up with "mob warping" better than waiting.

    If someone is looking into this I want to add the following spawn point also. In Glenn, there is a group of Chavez that should be spawning north of nav glenn 6 near some Chavez station (can't remember the name). However, these Chavez actually are spawning about 20k east of the Sirius gate and fly west until they reach the station. Since everyone is on a faction grind kick, you can usually follow a trail of corpse's from the station all the way to the gate. (Sorry if I gave up someone's favorite Chavez camping spot, but this is what I used to get my RD faction to -1987)
