This is exactly the problem on my character 'Starkorte'. I am level 79, 1 weapon and 1 device slot left to get, have Captain and hull strength of 4500 but my mission log still reads to get my level 75 hull upgrade mission. Can someone please do the fix Kyp did?

    Thanks!

  2. There sure was an auto register in live. However it was implemented otherwise as it is now post latest patch.

If you got killed you returned to your last docked station. If you used the RTB you'd go to the last registered station.

    Nothing more, nothing less peeps.

    Pie !

Ahhh, this would surely explain why there are two sides that say nearly the same thing... Very VERY interesting..

  3. That information is flat out wrong. There was no auto-reg in live, as JD frequently ran lvl 7 summon trade runs, people would dock in antares and get summoned to net-7, etc.

SD also shouldn't incap your ship.

Worhmole did damage trade goods but TT negotiate goup bonuses compensated for the loss, which is why TT/JE + others would do trade runs together. Currently the TT bonus is broken and a TL 50 toon without negotiate gets 0 xp from a wormhole fenris run.

We approach an interesting revelation that maybe both sides are wrong or right (depending on whether you feel a glass is half full or half empty) to an extent and that it behaved both ways which would explain the 'definitive' nature in the claims everyone has. Many of us participated in Beta and Live and I am wondering if that may be the source. Don't get excited though, I find it very interesting that everyone that says "It was not like this in live" has not been able to provide tangible (something that is not related to "I Remember...") information that substantiates the claim... I, however, like to attempt to substantiate my claims with information that can be cited and referenced along with searching for countering points which in this case I have not yet been able to find. I did some more looking at patch notes located at http://www.earthandbeyond.ca/server/patchmessage.html and did not see a reference that they made any changes to registration when docking at stations. I did find one interesting patch note "Changed the docking and registration distance for starbases on planets to 2.5k (from 5.0k). This is intended to reduce the frequency of death loops due to exiting starbases too close to hostile mobs.". The relevant parts of a debate is being able to present and substantiate ones assertions without conflict and without taking it personally. The good thing with my personal position is that I am fine either way and am just happy to be playing the game that I missed SO much.

  4. For Terran Enforcer:

    Biorepression - done

    build engines - done

    build weapons - done

    critical targeting - done

    damage control - done

    enrage - done

    hacking - done

    missile weapon - done

    negotiate - done

    projectile weapon - done

    rally - done

    repair equipment - done

The only thing I am having problems with is the lvl 50 hull upgrade but I think its because the server doesn't have me down as having my lvl 30 yet I do so it may be throwing MacKellan's dialog off... That's just speculation though... The dev team will figure it all out.

  5. I witnessed this event from beginning to end and chose not to participate. I instead capitalized on the suddenly sparse Glenn fields. It seemed all kosher to me, but I wasn't in N7 to actually watch how the lines were handled.

    But ultimately:

    - This is a stress test. These items will soon be wiped and we'll all be L1 again, scrambling around the starter areas and trying to score the first analysis on the Hounfour shield line to gain status as an alpha builder on the server.

    - This game is free, brought to you through the hard work and free time of people as passionate about E&B as you are, only these people actually did something. Not that they should be immune to accusations of favoritism, but give them the benefit of the doubt.

    - This is a video game, an emulated server of a dead MMORPG. Don't get worked up over it.

Final statement: This is not important. Quit with the conspiracy theories and drama and apply that kind of critical thinking toward areas that may actually impact the meaningful parts of your life. This game is all just ones and zeros. I'd assume that losing characters we'd all spent months or years on five years ago forever would be a revelation, that the game is meant to be treated as a light leisure activity. Why isn't it?

    +1

Geesh Rudo, you must be some kind of freak twin or something. Thoughts exactly mirror my own. Freaky.

  6. Oh, for the love of pete. I don't understand how people can take a game or anything on the internet so seriously.

Newsflash: This is an MMO. There is no way to 'win' at MMOs aside from just having fun doing what you enjoy, and bringing enjoyment to others. You can set minor goals for yourself and your friends, but ultimately nothing done here truly matters. This counts double as this is a stress test and the tide is coming in fast toward our sand castles.

No community is 100% angelic, and what some consider clean good-natured humor others can consider cruel and tasteless. To some these can be considered 'bad apples' and 'elitists', while to others the attitude is just common fun. People will crack jokes about touchy subjects, it's a fact of life. Also painting a community with one big broad brush is just setting yourself up for surprises. People are different, whether they're returning Live vets or newcomers. Some have coarse senses of humor, others have finer sensibilities.

One can't tell people not to tell dumb jokes, just as one can't tell them to not be offended. But I can tell you one thing. All this? Is it really that important?

Just... go for a walk or something. There might not be a way to 'win' MMOs, but there is a way to lose. By letting them get the better of you; through either the people, the game itself or by using the game as a crutch to escape actual life problems that really should be dealt with.

We're all here for a good time, not for a long time. Chill out.

+1 Rudo you hit everything right on the nose.

I am Player B and stand by anything I said or did as being in good nature humor and venting after the Minerva ordeal. Take it as it was meant and move on with life.

  7. I like to say yes as much as I am able to observe being a tester/player and the fact that I have been more diligent in reporting bugs myself. The only thing that I would like to have/know is an ability to search through existing reports and if I find something that matches what I am experiencing, I can add information to that to help cut down on the duplicate reports and also have an opportunity of providing the powers that be as much information as possible in a centralized location. I know that it would not be perfect but would also help cut down on people asking if something is known or not and help ensure new issues and even existing issues are well documented. This is of course my opinion and that's all I've gots to say about that.

  8. I personally don't like to use voice chats playing video games because it helps me keep a distance. I need to be able to /quit out of the game at anytime (because its a game, it shouldn't take priority over anything, for me atleast). Its already hard enough with the groups and guilds and meetup arrangements you do over text-chat, and it becomes much harder(to just up and leave) when you're having actual voice conversations. I find text-chatting to be an indispensable part of my gaming experience. But that's assuming that you wanna keep a game at the level of 'just' a game, even if it is a MMO.

And, as Avani also commented, I've tried the no-microphone logins enough times to know that it doesn't fly too well.. people get offended (maybe rightly so) , so the best solution for me is just to stay away from voice chat.

So in short, probably would not be joining team speak servers any time soon.

    +1 ditto

  9. Many reasons I have for loving this game through so many years:

    • Space based (biggest winner there)
    • Mining
    • Very PVE friendly (love to do my own thing at times without having to depend on others)
    • 'Work for it' experience system. (You want it? Work for it!)
    • Other players (meeting people is always fun, being able to play in a group is even better! Nothing like a group of TE and PW's watching two miners cause roid guards to spawn or simply cooperatively helping each other out)
    • Job terminals (not locked to just sitting there doing the same thing forever) *please bring these back soon! pahhweeeze!* rofl
    • Quests
    • The storyline
    • The UI was nice and clean. Very effective.
    • Faction system
    • Graphics (they still ROCK!)
    • Great races to choose from (nice touch having different professions within the races themselves)
    • Able to have multiple characters
    • Ability to customize look of ship and character
    • Being able to dock at stations to interact with others in a different setting and actually have a reason for the stations for the bazaar, terminals, npc's, etc etc.
    • Landing on planets, I mean that just rocks!
    • The mobs, even their AI was very cool.
    • Speaking of mobs, I actually loved the RD's when the would do their ambushes and pull you out of warp to charge a toll and you could either pay and go on or refuse and fight or flee.
    • That also brings up the coolness of the mobs using skills against you.
    • Trading - make money and experience for hauling goods around. Yet another thing to do.
    • Manufacturing - This was real cool, player made items having better quality than the dropped/looted stuff and certain attributes being improved upon as well. That and the maker gets their name stamped onto it.
    • The skills themselves are really cool and unique to races
    • The idea of progressive story lines..
    • New systems/sectors
    • The elusive nature of the V'rix
    • Emotes for both character and ship */me barrel rolls!*

I seriously could go on and on, pretty much the whole game rocks and keeps me drawn to it more so than almost any game out there. Never found anything I didn't like about it. Never had the complaints others had, I took the game as it was and what it was meant to be and loved playing it. Was seriously bummed when they shut it down since I had been playing since beta first opened until sunset. Games since then and even up to today don't seem to have that appeal to me like games of past. Games today seem to be geared towards 'instant gratification' making them much to easy to complete in way less time than games of past. Not to mention the 'money maker' games that are driven to make money rather than towards making the games immersion deep and enjoyable which in itself is a much better way to make it make money. I mean look at the cigarette companies, they got it right, get them addicted and KEEP them addicted so they keep making us money. Of course, this is my opinion and that's about all I've gots to say about that.

  10. I could read it just fine naturally. This applies to many of the human senses such as sight, hearing, smell and taste as well. What annoys me is that people know this so therefore there are those that are to lazy or are do it on purpose. I know the OP was doing this as a demonstration so is not a focus of my annoyance and I am sure the majority of people know what I am eluding to.

I also think General Discussion is the appropriate place for this.
