  1. Hmm, it seems that the problem is still occurring today as of the 12th of November. Only with my TS does the problem seem to be happening. On some of my other toons, I seem to be having other issues such as items without pictures and so forth. It had been awhile since I had played using Windows 7. Just recently I made the switch to Windows 10 because I was having problems getting updates in Windows 7. After I finished installing and booting up - I followed the Magoo's guide and didn't have any issues initially until I logged in with my Terran Enforcer. On my JD I am having issues with certain items not showing up. I am sure there are others I have noticed yet but  here is a current list of items that are invisible: Plague's Bite, Aegis of the Warder, Intolerance MK. VIII, Defender's Doumaru, and Chimaera's  Dread Scourge; in addition to the aforementioned items, I have also noticed that some other types of loot such as gene maps IX and BlackBox P91 IX.

  2. Nice kitten picture...

I have a laptop in addition to my deskweight that I use for running a second acct, mainly to try out the privateer, and secondly to use for transferring stuff. Still, I tend to focus more on one acct for then the other. Thats my honest opinion on the subject.

People likely use enb on a second computer to try out some of the new classes and check on some of their favorite classes.

Firstly, I would like to say wow, just wow, I got negative 8 reputation! I bet all of my negative reputation is from one person, Avani! This further compliments my troll theory, not only is she repeatedly marking down my post, but she is repeatedly marking up hers! Whats this prove? Nothing, a bit childish if you ask me.

Secondly, I generally dual-box as well. I have 2 accounts and transfer items/credits between them and occasionally do tours and power farming, I believe this is fine. The only problem I have ever had was with people using in access of 3 accounts to take advantage of the limited player base that we currently have and the fact that EnB is incredibly easy to multi-box/macro compared to other games.

Thirdly, I am not some evil guy hell bent on controlling and manipulating the way people play, all I want is balance. Fairness, for everyone. Especially those that solo play. No one should ever feel the need to have to multi-box and or use macros to get ahead or just reach even ground with people that do.

Fourthly, Yes, multi-boxing is encouraged in other games. But remember that the current EnB database is limited to between 150-300 players online at a given time. Eve, has just one cluster server with between 15 and 35k players on at any given time.

Fifthly, lolcats are awesome. Thusly I have decided to create my own lolcats picture using the only image I have of my late cat Ninja, in tribute to my late Ninja Kitty, I present to you TROLLCATS!

  3. As far as I am concerned the debate was over long ago, and thus can be closed. Avani attempted to revitalize it to create drama for no other purpose other than her own entertainment. So yes I called her out for being a troll. Although, it is true that Avani's behavior was very much like that of a Troll, I am just as guilty for responding irrationally with my emotions and for this I apologize. I had rather see the topic closed than have trolls bringing up dead topic's over and over again to create dramatical events for their own personal entertainment.

PS: I love the cat, I always have loved the "lolcats" movement! I Can Has Cheezburger?

  4. Cutting costs is only the beginning - and it all comes down to the basic "Guns or Butter" question.

Humans procure and produce resources for one of two basic reasons: to provide food and shelter for themselves (the butter) and to deny those same resources to competing, outsider (foreign) groups (the guns).

Space exploration from our parent's generation (that is, the generation that watched Neil Armstrong land on the moon in 1969, or largely the Baby Boomers and the Silent Generation) was not fueled out of some idealistic notion of someday having a house and a vegetable patch on Mars, or a Lunar Love Hotel to stop at en route to the Ganymede Gambling Casinos.

It was PURELY about designing and producing military hardware with a specific aim to weaponize space (even if this was later outlawed by a certain series of treaties).

We owe much of our existing telecommunication and GPS technology to the military spending and defense budgets of yesteryear.

And should Mother Russia, or the Red Chinese, or the Iranians (yes, they have a space program geared to guess what - building ICBMs that can hit the USA) arise to become an overwhelming existential threat as the USSR was in our parents' time... one can be fairly certain that the funds will be found somewhere (more like printed into existence by Helicopter Ben and his happy gang of central banking bandits) to re-energize the space program to either catch up to or keep ahead of the Russians, the Red Chinese, or the Iranians.

Less likely would be the prospect of Peak Oil (oddly enough, this was never hyped nearly as much as the so-called "anthropogenic global warming" as the Next Great Bugaboo to promote massive government spending for great justice)... but if you ask me, I'd gladly give up driving to work to save a few $$$ when gas gets to be $100/gal rather than worrying about some polar bears who might have swim a little farther to get to the next iceberg.

Either way, we have much bigger problems on the horizon than the space program, and perhaps privatizing the space program to the point where the government is a collaborative partner or even just a customer... might be the right step.

Yeah I mean really, whats the purpose of having billions of dollars invested in a space program that doesn't really accomplish anything? The military technology we gained from the space program in the 60's is responsible for nearly all of the technology we use today. American won the space war, and our technology proves it, our current military weapons are the strongest most powerful in the world. Iran, China and Russia have nothing compared to what we have currently so I don't think they are much of a threat, their weapons are all 40 and 50 years old. Russia has just recently developed a "stealth" fighter aircraft, we have had "stealth" fighter aircraft since the 70's, all thanks to the space program!

I hope that when the space program returns with new technology that the program focuses more on the exploration and colonization of space rather than the development of weapons systems used to wage war. Because if we are not alone in the universe, I am sure our weapons won't matter if we come up against a race thats been around for a few million years.

  5. Since u will need facts, here are some. I have 3 accounts with EVE of which i only use 1 actively for about 12 hour a month lately. Im not swimming against the grain with this. cause multiboxing is encouraged by CCP. (prolly because it generates extra cash:) I play EVE 7 years the last 4 exclusively single in a one man corp. U can do that in EVE. as a matter of fact many players do. Put aside the fact that most of the stuff u buy on the market is made from other players there is not much interaction with others.

The last 2 Years i run T-DOP as a production fascillity for t2 drones and ships in a small highsec system 2 hops from Jita. Refueling the POS and shuffling parts and products back and forth to Jita take me about 12 hours a month. My totall net annual profit is around 18.000.000.000, thats because im so lazy. More then 90% of all the other players never make that much, as u can see in the financial annual reports made available to everybody.

I think it all has alot to do with personal insight and skill. If u have the skill to run multiple boxes and u are good enough at it to solo-group combat, that is skill and efford, its not an exploit. running multiple accounts on live on a single box was never a problem. It kinda became one with the net-7 startup, specially on vista and W7. still works like a charme on xp. without any VM. Never used it for more then extended storage anyway.

To be totally honest this whole discussion about multiboxing makes no real sense to me. Neither does the macropart because i think most people mean bots if they say macro. Im not a native english speaker so this little differences are very important 4 me 2 understand what the subject is about. in order to judge propperly we also need a common frame of reference, which we obviously don't have at this moment. The fact that Macros (bots) and multiboxing are combined in this subject only adds to the confusion.

I guess this is what u get if u want to achive to much too fast:)

u all fly safe and fight victorious

    Read all of the post.

  6. ... don't be stupid. Even if my son would be on the shuttle I wouldn't stop the launch 9 minutes before just because clouds are low 100 feet. They do this almost every time.

Get this, I know there is some dumb reason, but have you watched the countdown at all? 30 minutes countdown stops for 3 hours... So, you think there is 30 minutes to launch but actual time is 3 hours and 30 minutes... If you are going to stop the damn clock for 3 hours (and when it comes down to 10 or 9 minutes) why are you counting down at all... start 3 hours advance so we know what really is the time for launch.

my ex-wife? are you kidding me, I would tie her up to the main booster :|

    +1 haha.

As for the space program, they are in the process of retiring the shuttles, its about time if you ask me. Space exploration will come again in the near future 10 or 20 years from now, with new, safer technology. Cost is also a issue, if you take into consideration that a F-22 Raptor's flight cost is about $44.000 per hour, you could only imagine the per hour flight cost of the space shuttle.

  7. so i take it that now you have resorted to name calling in your posts that you have not been able to come up with any facts to back your opinions (other than we should believe you just because)... you are conceding whatever point you are trying to force upon us? :D

/edit oh and with all due respect to who? I mean you say with all due respect and then call me a troll... is that a compliment where you come from ? :D

OK, how about you try to prove the supposed facts I presented wrong? Thats generally how it works, someone presents facts, someone disagrees and attempts to prove them wrong. If you can prove that MMO's are not created for multi-player play, and that you can achieve the same goals that a group can as a single player, I will admit that i'm wrong, but lets face it. You and I both know I am right, AND this is why I call you a troll. Because you ignore the facts and have rejuvenated this post not because of your interest in balancing the game, but your interest in creating drama and conflict for your entertainment. Rarely have you contributed anything worthwhile to the cause and instead post meaningless, grammar-less arguments that warrant nothing but controversy.

Since i miss the abillity to think logical, i figured that multiplayer games are designed to have multiple players taking part. That is the fact. Its like in real life. we also live on the same planet, but we mostly don't cooperate alot with each other. even worth, we mostly work against each other. It's ego and thats another fact. Many MMo's have no endgame, best example is EVE.It might be possible that many people still play mmo's to win. the question is only, what are they expect to win?

the ting with the weather is, that if it rains the streets get wet. On the other side, if the street are wet it might not be from the rain. Yes mmo's are created for multiplayers, but that doesnt mean that they all play together.

I personally like to play together with others as much as i like to play alone. even without the capacity to think logical i can imagine alot of people also behave this way.

    Maybe im a troll too??????

u tell me Mort, because im obviously mentaly handicaped

Well, if I take into consideration the fact that a forum troll is someone who posts inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum, chat room or blog, with the primary intent of provoking other users into an emotional response or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion. I would have to say that no, your not a troll.

You're right about MMO's being created for multi-player interaction, as such only the highest and greatest awards can be achieved from said multi-player interaction. It is true that many players prefer to go against the grain and play solo, but it is also true that players that do will never achieve the same benefits of those that group.

  8. well no need to get rude and huffy about it all because you have a difference of opinion... geeze, you dont see me throwing around ////'s at you, personally, I am hurt :) ... but once again there you go speaking for the world... MMO's in general imo have built within them the opportunity for group play and they also have built within them the opportunity for solo play... so they are just as much designed for solo play as group play, which imo is intentional...

you make 2 assumptions here and use the word typically once... none of those words are definitive or facts they are only (safe) in your opinion... oh and about endings "everything that has a beginning has an end", even mmo's, where you once again incorrectly speak for the world... I would play enb if they never added anymore content than is in the game right now and still be interested (hell I still listen to the same music since the 70's)...

keep in mind that my goal is to always say the opposite of you because unless you present hard facts... there will always be an opinion that is 180 degrees the opposite of yours and it will always be just as true... :)

With all due respect, the statements I have said in the prior post are and will always be facts. They are not assumptions. FACTS! Any logical thinking mind will come to the same conclusion, its common sense. Just as the sun is bright, and ice is cold, so are MMO's created for multi-player play. So, lets face the facts. Avani, you're just a troll...

  9. and once again here you are authoritativily (sp?) speaking for the world (as usual)... if I read this correctly, you are saying one day a person woke up and said let me make a video game company called Westwood for the explicit purpose of making an MMO to unite players to conquer unique challenges, these challenges usually require large groups and are called raids. See I always thought the goal of Westwood was not world peace... but to get filthy rich by having a larger company buy there half built games (silly me, like that would ever happen)...

AND... are you also saying that if I want to take on a large event I have to call it a raid... no wonder why I have so much trouble I have been calling it an orgy, well I will change the name right away and start raking in mad delicious lewtz...

and I guess to end... so you are also saying that I cannot be successful solo... who are you to judge what I consider to be successful? are you now taking on the role of success police as well... it's hard to tell from your forum pic, but with all the hats u wear u might start looking into a bigger head??? :)

/note to gordo... great sig quote...

I'm not saying you can't play the way you want too, all I am saying is that MMO's are designed for group play, which is a fact. Also I am saying that you won't be able to achieve the same achievements a group can without grouping, which is also a fact.

  10. so now you are saying I cant play enb if I wanna play single player? are you saying I cant be successful playing single player? why do so many people here feel the need to tell others what they should do and how they should play... why is it such a bad thing if someone wants to solo enb...

I know a guy in wow we called him team 5-box. he ran 5 accounts at once mostly with macros and ran instances with all him... his toons were at the same level as any other toon that ran a single acct at a time... his toons werent crazy rich... they were all in proportion to the effort he put in (probably even less since 5-boxin has to be hella hard)... and blizzard was fine with it... although here... you would have him put in the iron maiden...

Yes you can play single player, but in most MMO's you can't truly play the game by yourself ALL the time and be successful. In fact, you can't really do anything in this world today as a single individual and be successful. Everything that we have done or will do that would fall under the category of being successful requires the work of others in a team. As such, a game such as EnB cannot be created by a single individual alone, it requires team work. So yes, go ahead and play single player, don't ever use groups and boycott goods sold by others players, but I guarantee that you will never achieve the highest achievable goal, end game content.

As for WoW, multi-boxing is MUCH more difficult than multi-boxing in EnB. I have multi-boxed multiple accounts in WoW and have multi-boxed multiple accounts and EnB, there is a difference. And I promise that you will never be able to achieve fully functional status by multi-boxing in Wow. There is really no possible way to 5 man instances by yourself. Or attend raids with 5 accounts. 5 accounts are most useful in PVP for nuking, and only nuking. Typically, players that multi-box 5 accounts in WoW do it only for PVP purposes thus, they generally use Mages or Shamans.

The whole purpose of ANY MMO is to unite players to conquer unique challenges, these challenges usually require large groups and are called raids. I would say its safe to assume that most of the people that play MMO's on a day to day basis have one goal in mind, end game content. I would also say its safe to assume that most MMO developers focus on end game content and the progression there of solely after a game has been launched. This is what separates MMO games from single player games. Single player games typically have a ending, whereas MMO's are constantly evolving and have to in order to keep clients interested in the game.

SO to answer your questions, no and yes.

  11. sorry, I am not reading the part where you were at the meeting at westwood or ea your choice where these decisions were made... so then anyone who plays solo is what... doomed to pergatory... oh wait... that doesnt exsist anymore... back it up with proof not opinion and conjucture

Avani, you don't have to be a member of the EnB R&D team to know that the game was designed for grouping and multilayer play, its obvious. The game was designed to be played with other players, not to be played as a single player. I am sure anyone that is a part of the emulator project or any former Westwood employees will confirm this. If you want to play a single player game, go play freelancer.

  12. Interesting.

Transparency as to where the money is going is one thing, but transparency about what users spent the most is a horrible idea and the reason I haven't yet donated anything. All that's good for is bragging rights and entitlement and I've no interest in either. I've already seen more than one instance when someone tried to use the fact they'd donated as a point in some forum debate. That feature should seriously be disabled.

    I agree.

  13. Yes I can back up my statement that EnB is a game built upon grouping...

Just look at the skills that each class (individually) has, compare the strengths and weaknesses, then look at the whole system from a big picture. Interdependency is built through out EnB in the classes. No one class is a Solo king, and all do much better in a group, the more diverse the better. No Player trade hall system, no mail system... this demands that Players work together just to get things done.

That's why I say EnB is a "grouping" game, and EnB is one of the few true MMORPGs in existence. Many online games claim the title but few actually have earned it.

It is a "grouping" game as all MMORPG's are lol, I guess Avani wants to go back to single player mode.
