  1. Firstly i would like to thank ranko for bringing this up...now i have a screen to type the gibberish thats been ruining/running in my head for almost 9 years now....

Point : Components and Ammo are unique and cannot be controlled using same trigger (in this case a slash command)

    Why i Say this :

    Components using slash command :

eg: /build 100 means it builds some component and the items stacks up nicely...say its a stack size of 200. you build 100. on the other hand i say /build 100 and the stack size of rifle ammo is 600 and it builds only 100 off of one stack. so for ammo another operator is required and in the same /build command i dont think you can make both things happen without getting an exception.

    suggestion :

comps : /compbuild 100 (100 nos. of the component of whatever has been chosen in terminal)

comps : /compbuild 220 (stack size is 200. it stacks 1 and the extra 20 flows into another cargo hold space)

ammo : /ammobuild 10 (of the stack size of the ammo chosen in terminal and 10 stacks of it).

ammo : /ammobuild 25 (free space available = 20. so builds 25 stacks and the required 5 extra spaces is used up in vault, otherwise it throws a flag)

    Just my two cents!!

    UmaXX

PS: Am typing this in a hurry....dont mind my broken explanation!!

I don't believe you can build partial stacks of ammo. One "build" gets you one stack of ammo, so it would be one component, or one stack of 400 rounds, etc. You are implying a link where there is none.

  2. What does the speculation cover in particular? That would help in giving you an "official" answer.

There are a number of topics that I have seen come up in chat over and over again, and every person seems to have a different version of their story to tell. I can give you examples but I have a feeling that doing so would turn this thread into the exact thing I'm trying to avoid (more rumor and baseless speculation).

I will put something together and send you a PM.

  3. well of course the numbers go up.. they aren't in the game are they? And of course they are going to come here first to make sure its not something on their side. The comments I was hearing on teamspeak were completely irrelevant to the forum posts today. "YEP I knew it already 2 pages of posts of idiots complaining about the servers being down!" I only see the 3 posts. On the forums or on Teamspeak I hear the same ranting and complaining. they just come out faster on teamspeak and are not as reviewable by the community. Why on teamspeak talk bad about the community ( even small at this point ) you play with? Without alot of these people you wouldn't enjoy your experience in the game at all. I really dont think anyone was "out of line" but I think its rude. Some people try to be parts of TS and the forums. Probably explains why alot of people dont log on teamspeak because they dont want to have to listen to it .. can just read it.

Or people can check the server status thing on the launcher that tells you whether the server is up or down. It's not hard to do things for yourself instead of rushing to someone else and hoping they know.

The guys on Teamspeak are generally helpful to anyone that shows up. Yeah they might get a little short with people when however many log in and ask the same question over and over. Dealing with people you may not agree with is what life is about. If you have a hard time coping with people over a video game, you have far larger problems than the server being down.

  4. My #1 suggestion is this: Rumor Control.

There is so much speculation spam in the in-game chat channels, it would be nice to have an official "This is the actual situation, stop talking out of your a$$" to respond to them with. I would be willing to volunteer for this responsibility, but it would require the ability to meet with the devs and GMs so we can actually establish what the real story is.

  5. I know this can be changed to a different directory than the default, like D:/enb/etc/ via the N7 launcher, but is there a /command to use from DOS/commandline to change the directory that n7proxy looks in to start client.exe? (in the case like mine right now where we are unable to run N7 launcher properly)

As I understand it, you have to install everything in the default directories for the program to work correctly.

  6. well 1920x1200 is 16:10 (or 4:2.5) resolution which is very close to 4:3 (enb) so its still not scaled properly... but not really noticeable... your toons are only a little shorter and fatter...

honestly, I have not heard of 5760x1600 for a computer (I know there is ultra wide screen of 7680x1600)... so I am assuming you fall into the ultra wide screen category... and that is really really wide... you must have one helluva a vid card to show that...

/edit sry slow at math... do you mean 5760x1280

Actually, it scales widescreen just fine. I use 1440*900 resolution and there is zero distortion in the shape of objects.

  7. Yet another new disconnect error:

23/02/10 12:11:11 Connecting to Authentication Server on 127.0.0.1:443

23/02/10 12:14:11 Error, did not receive master handoff ...

23/02/10 12:14:25 >> CRITICAL ERROR: Server unable to process sector login

23/02/10 12:14:25 TCP connection on port 3801 was reset

  8. please dont do that... the odds of it being your router imo are like omg... there was a patch today and others with 64bit win7 reported disconnects... some of them said they turned off packet optimization and others said they told enb to run in winxp mode... I would suggest resetting your router back to the way it was and try some other ideas... imo you just are having some bad luck at this point with a patch on the day u actually fix ur system...

I had these problems before the patch, and so far you're the only person that hasn't said it's my router, as opposed to the dozen or so that said it probably is. Also, from what I was told, today's patch only affected some stuff with the Jenquai Seeker class.

  9. I manually installed the certificates, and this particular problem has lessened. However, I am not having a number of other repeating disconnect errors. This is the relevant part of my net7 log file:

    21/02/10 23:49:47 >> Login check: Login OK

    21/02/10 23:49:51 Sending StartAck to Server 14076

    21/02/10 23:50:23 >> Commence Login check

    21/02/10 23:50:23 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would have terminated here

    21/02/10 23:51:13 >> Login check: Login FAILED

21/02/10 23:51:13 login failed, go back to the login screen

I am going to try enabling ports 3500-3899 on my router, and see if that helps. I have whitelisted EnB on my router firewall.

My computer specs are as follows:

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4200+ (2.21 Ghz)

    3.00 GB DDR2

    GeForce 8800 GTS

    Cable internet (wired)

    Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit

  10. I am having a problem where I enter my password, click next, select my character, click enter, I get the sector map loading screen, then end up back at the login. When this starts happening, it has taken upwards of 20 attempts to actually get back into the game. Since I am also having a problem where I get kicked to the login screen when I try to change systems, land on a planet, dock at a station, undock from a station, leave a planet, etc. it can end up taking an hour just to get back to where I was.

Is there anything I can do on my end to eliminate this problem? I would really appreciate some help with this.

I have performed a complete uninstall and reinstall, and I have had no improvement. Here is the contents of the net7proxy window:

I have seen several other threads about this problem, and it seems like nothing is being done to fix it.

  11. I play a TT, and I agree that the gigantic ridiculous hood ornament needs to go :(

I always thought that was the dumbest placement ever. If they are not able to be moved, something that would let you turn off the visibility of launchers would be equally satisfactory (to me at least)

  12. it feel like the devs cant read.

i talk about stresstest not about final for final are the rates perfect but how much we will get on a final a wipe?

right if some db crash or extreamly bug

now we need around 3weeks to get 150

but when is the next wipe? in march or april them we start from 0 again 3weeks to rais a char what is wiped again in 1-3months

It's not that the developers can't read, it's that you can't type. Try using proper spelling, punctuation, grammar, and sentence structure. Half the above quote doesn't even make sense.

It also seems like you are choosing to not read. There is a reason that the XP is not being increased during the stress test. It's a TEST. They need to see how things work as if the game were live, so they can correct things that need to be corrected.

  13. Doing this would require changing the way the client functions, which would violate EA's copyright on the client, which would lead to them shutting us down. It will not happen.

Post it on the forum, if you need to express it so bad.

  14. I am also not able to connect. I have tried both TS.Net-7.org and Play.net-7.org, and TS3 can not connect. I tried to install TS2 but apparently Windows 7 is missing a DLL or something.

I tried it again with TS.Net-7.org port 9987 instead of 8760 and it works. I think the server address in this thread needs to be changed to reflect this.
