    O.K. Various players have called for another election, either for after Shadow (if he returns) or to fill the rest of his term and likely the next.  Nominations are now open, and will be open for one week. 

     

    Please note at least one other person will need to nominate you for you to be eligible.  You must also reply as to if you are interested in the position or not.  I'll keep this updated now and then on current nominations.

    Good points ALL.  And I admit now that I don't even bother to clear a field anymore.  I have gone to the dark side (they have cookies) and will cherry pick with the best of them.

    As mentioned in the thread about changing ISPs, here is the thread to post the data you collect using winMTR or similar.

     

    Please post it in file format.  Please also collect data over time and denote which files are "normal" and which are "laggy" and if it is "Megan Hour."  Also post your relative location (such as nearest major city, state etc)

     

    With enough data we will be able to see if this problem is with 1&1 and give them such proof.

    It seems we've veered off the topic a bit, so kindly keep your posts to the main topic of changing ISPs.  We've already heard from Kyp about this, and to make things easier, I'll be creating a thread for players to post their data.

     

    Now, those that seriously are interested in determining if the ISP is to blame, can gather and post the logs.  Kyp can review them and send them in.  But, as he said without any data or proof, threatening to move won't help.  I'll update this post shortly with a link, which will be in the Player Advocate section.

     

    Additionally, please do report any abuse or suspected about of power to Kyp, a GM or myself.  We take such allegations very seriously.

    I'll move this to tech support as you'll more likely to get the help you need there.  It would probably be good to list your machine specs.  Don't forget to take a look at the common fixes post.  I'll post the link after I move this.

    It depends on the offense as every case could be different.  As far as what yourself can put up with is up to you, but any time you see something against the rules you may report it.  Screen shot and chat logs are always welcome with complaints against another player.  a description of the offense along with the times of the offense(s) should also be reported..  To report a player, contact a GM via the ticket system, online, forums or contact myself.  Any of those should get the wheels rolling.  If you don't hear anything contact myself or a GM via PM.

    This is a thread you are probably familiar with.  This is specifically talking about "Megan Hour" and logs from various people.  It showed one location being an issue, and I do not know what, if anything 1&1 has said or done about it.  As for other playability/stability continue discussion, I'd just ask that anyone talking about "Megan Hour" contribute to the other thread I linked to.  That would help Kyp consolidate any evidence he needs and continue to get feedback from players.

    Sure, but if a solution can be created that makes everyone happier wouldn't that be better?  Assuming there are no balance issues, I think it would be nice for the players to say here's a solution we went over and would like to propose to you.

    I went ahead and merged this thread with an old cherry picking thread.

     

    As far as this subject goes, there are two main thoughts - those who think cherry picking should be disallowed, and those who feel you should mine what you want.  I don't see that changing, and don't see a real way to meet in the middle.  The despawn timers are already there, and I think that reducing the time to despawn a roid might just increase the chance they sit and wait, not to mention making turnover of roids higher and possibly increasing the ore availability.   At least those sought after.  Other than changing that, I'm not sure of something that would allow you to mine what you want, while still leave ores available to others that wouldn't potentially unbalance the game.

    I do know that I was out searching for a specific ore or two, and after traveling to several fields in various systems, I had very little to show for it.  Did I come across picked fields?  Was I just looking for ore that was that rare?  Couldn't tell ya, but it was a bit frustrating trying to help someone out by mining for the ore.

    I believe there are limited effect sound files.  If it were changed, it would probably be the same as another weapon.  If anyone has some effects they have created, I'm sure the devs would be interested to listen to them.

    Added poll.  If this were to happen, I personally would go for Solution 2 with a part needed, and the NPC far away (not F7).  This is currently an item you can't replace, so if you can fix or replace it, it needs to also be difficult.
