Well what we need is an 'orbit' button in addition to the follow button for mobs. Click orbit to orbit the planet - or a comet you want to mine
I'd finally be able to mine that comet in Uranus instead of just looking at it.Better yet, let's just make it so we can land on them and mine too. Match speed... land... boom you're set to mine.

I also believe I saw a post somewhere with a suggestion of a PVP or group PVP game like soccer - essentially a you had a miner 'mine' the ball and transport it to the goal, while being defended by other team players and making it past a certain point. I think any arena area should have more than just "I shoot you"

That leaves out the entire controlls issue - we are just not ready for touch screen E&B.
On the old forums someone posted a video demonstrating their new screen which used touch commands. It seemed perfectly playable, so as far as touch commands for a PC screen or Ipad I don't see a problem.

That is true there was some discussion, but it would come down to editing specific files to get to the banners, and making sure new or modified banners would still work... I'm not sure who was looking into it, or even everything involved, but it sort of moved farther and farther down on the list.

After some debate with myself I have reopened this topic as some fair suggestions were coming in near the end. As far as the cherry picking posts, I will move those to the proper area.

With the mention of the other thread, I realize this really should be in the mining section of the forum. I'll move it first, and consider combining threads, although I'm leaning against it as it is so much bigger than the other one.

I'm curious about how the majority of your leveling occurred. I realize most everyone will have done several of the options - but which got you the farthest?

This public web development area was underused (and perhaps inaccessible by players) and was merged into another area.

There is a /played command listed in the command list. However, using that will get you an 'illegal' message. I think it would be nice to have it back. I don't agree for having rewards based on play it however. One way to think of it is is that players who are on a lot are more likely to be on when special (GM) events are happening.
Another way to think of it - we'd be encouraging people to be logged on and idle while doing other things just to get whatever reward was offered. No need to waste all that power

I've also seen mobs run away when they realize they'll lose, so I follow them. Their shields heal up some and they seem to 'recover' their courage and come back at me for more - and I finish them off.
I think it makes it interesting, and could also see how it could be frustrating. The thought of carrying another device to boost speed had crossed my mind - they start running, I run them over -
This is a similar suggestion, but afaik it is not too impossible:
Have the ability to change direction with your ship while freewarping.
That is an interesting idea - that would make freewarping truly 'free'

I use Avast and haven't had any trouble. Try what Avani has listed and let us know. I too would also encourage you to have some sort of virus protection installed. Anything new installed or changed since the last time you played?

I thought it may be easier to have another thread for the PTR server status, as they are on separate servers. Don't forget to check the PTR announcements for current testing goals.
