  1. At various times the topic has come up as to if the Advocate position is useful or not, if it should remain, go, or change.  So, here is a poll to gather your thoughts and opinions.  I in no way guarantee the Devs will implement any changes or suggestions.  This is simply informational for them to review and take into account, plus will foster (hopefully) discussion among the playerbase about the position.

Feel free to pose more questions, and I may add them to the poll.

  2. Hello everyone, and welcome to our election!

I'm sorry I've been absent from the forums recently, but I was traveling and wasn't able to access the net.  So, here is your delayed vote and a breakdown of who qualifies.

    Daath: Declined

    Cimbad: Candidate

    Unicorn: Candidate

    Prrekoorb: Declined

    ShadowWalker: Candidate

    Wetpolecat: No 2nd/accept

    Mimir: Not accepted

I'll leave the topic open a week.

  3. Why does bashing have to stop?  Seriously?  You're admitting that it is bashing?  The forums are not a place to go at anyone.  This is a public place and everyone should treat everyone else with respect.  If you have issues with someone talk to them.  If you need a mediator get one.  Please, tell me the goal of bringing up alleged past happenings on a public forum and how that will foster community.  Just keep to the topic of the guild rotation.

If you have a legitimate issues of abuse, report it.  I'd be happy to make sure it gets taken care of.

  4. excluded who? the rotation isnt even for the player base its for the devs. the server cant handle 50 people sitting in 1 area for hours on end. no one will get anything. this is the ONLY reason theres a rotation.

Let me be clear.  Any guild rotation agreements are for the guilds.  The Dev team has no say, and no interest in regulating agreements between guilds or getting involved in guild politics.  As far as any lag during raids, steps have been implemented that allow you to reduce your lag/visuals, and I am not aware of any ongoing issues.

As I see no reason to leave this topic open, it is now closed.

  5. As some as you may know Uban's Term expires soon.  So, we need to know who you want to fill the next term covering most of December through early April.

The Player Advocate is charged with the responsibility to gather player feedback, suggestions, complaints, and keep on the pulse of the community.  He is your contact with the development staff.  An advocate serves for a four month term and a possible second term, but no more than 2 consecutive terms.  Below are the requirements of the Advocate.

    Requirements:

    - Must be able to attend the Development Meetings on the Net-7 Teamspeak every Sunday at 1pm Eastern US time for about 15-30 minutes on average to meet with the devs and discuss playerbase issues/concerns/etc.  Three or more sequentially missed meetings may result in removal.

    - Must be available to the players at reasonable intervals and times.  Please do not accept the position if you do not plan to actually talk to the players or us.  You may use the forum, Teamspeak, in game chat, or any other method to contact players as you see fit, provided you are discussing game related matters.

    - Maintains a professional attitude and recognizes that they do represent net-7 to a degree, so adult conversation/discussion is a must.

    - Is able to have integrity to not discuss matters at the dev meeting past what is authorized to be released to the public.

    - Must not already be a member of Net-7 Staff.

    - If you are a member of a guild, please understand that you will be expected to cross party lines so to speak, and to avoid only representing the interests of the one guild.  You represent everyone.

The Advocate will be required to attended 2 meetings a month with the DEV Staff.
A working mic is also required.

    • A Player who arranges/meets with other players in Team Speak.
    • They read forum posts from players; and speaks to players in-game.
    • They take suggestions for issues to bring before the DEVs.
    • The DEVs meet with the Advocate twice a month, and listen to these suggestions.

If you nominate yourself, at least one other person must also nominate (or second) you for the position.  This is not a vote, please only nominate a given player one time.  We will hold a vote based on who have accepted nomination in one week.  Only those nominees who have posted "I accept the nomination" will be in the vote, so even though someone may have been nominated several times, if they haven't posted they accept, they will not be considered.

I will also update the status of those nominated every so often.  Please post any questions, and let the nominations begin!

  6. Those suggestions would certainly make the most (arguably) boring part of the game (flying between destinations) more interesting, I can see how people would be against it.  Perhaps another mission option to transport items would be a good way to do this, with the understanding that any transportation missions could/will have dangers.  Such as being caught by police, unstable items being transported and so on.

I do have to agree with an earlier poster, that I would rather see more demand for ore by players than making it harder.  I mine for xp because almost nobody needs any ore I obtain, especially below 9.  One thought that occurred to me is that perhaps a chance that a trader ripping ores from a comp could have a failure, or contaminated end result.  That might sway things slightly to have them at least check for ores before using one or more comps to get what they need, or ending up with contaminated ore.  Just a thought.

I think certain types of ore (raw or not) could be likely to draw attention, weather from pirates, police or whatever, sounds like a good idea.  Perhaps it would fit better into an overarching story such as maybe the RDs are working on some project that requires a lot of radioactive material, so they attack anyone they detect carrying such.
