  1. Honestly....jeez, I played JE on live before I played JD. You are suppose to have harder time hunting(try grouping?)...and there are more roids out that it seems than mobs, so JE's already have an easy way to level, other than trade runs. I am pretty sure that mob respawns and roid respawns are set so as one class should not be able to out level the other too quickly. I cannot nor will not flame other classes, but please dont beg for faster leveling. End game content will be there when you get there.

When the game released(originally) there were not enough roid spawns. The devs later added enough to keep leveling, and end game miners, content. If you noticed in your travels there were a whole lot of asteroid xxx (where x=whatever number) with nothing at all near them. These HAD gas and roid spawns, in live, after the devs realized they screwed up with not enough roids for miners to level properly when the game released.

Respawns were never based on time. they were based on field clear, and then how far away you traveled after the field clear. Example....you clear area, travel 25k away, wait 1 minute, travel back..and boom....brand new field again. The 30 minute timer now in effect worked great with accelerated leveling, not so great with standard xp and will make mining both longer and tedious as the game develops (without job terminals).

Anyway, back to the point. If there is still going to be a 30 min respawn on fields, then more fields must be added for explorer classes to level properly compared to the combat classes.

  2. Games today are only made for money, no longer to be ''known'' worldwide with very high quality and support...

I think EA has better to do than spending millions to shut us down.

Exactly. they have a bioware game to ruin for thousands of others that have faith they wont screw that up like every other MMO they have touched.

  3. Alien intervention? My assumptions about what you mean are probably wrong. What do you mean moving the server?

You almost make it sound as though a company or something is attempting to stop all of this. Just curious.

I blame the Nomo's. Their reintroduction to the community has caused not just a server loss, but also the death and rebirth of hundreds of people......I say kill them all, and bring balance to the galaxy

  4. Well, if it is lack luster, they'll probably fix it in time... I mean down the road. My greatest concern is that it is or becomes yet another dumbed down mmog. I really liked CoH, but even that too was a bit too simplistic. I think WoW became the bane to mmog's, because of it's simplicity and every developer now trying to recreate WoW in their own way. But you mostly have people that don't play mmog's but only WoW, and then the few of us that do play mmogs get stuck with shallow games that don't appeal to us nor to the WoW gamers (because it's not WoW). So live long and prosper as you grind your way to 80 :D

*feels sad* and I'm a long time ST fan... though Babylon 5 is a bit better :D

    STO Vs. SW:TOR I guess :D

My biggest issue is the lack of klingon content, which they say they will work on (as of now Klingon is 95% pvp with just a few pve missions) and no joystick support which makes space combat a bit cumbersome. Challenge wise....it's pretty challenging and you can see the people that did play WoW all over the chat as they really can't figure anything out themselves and have to be guided by the hand through some pretty basic missions.

  5. Only real negative things I have to say about the game is that the klingon pve is unfinished and the federation ball of doom tactic is overpowered in pvp and makes it unbalanced. Both sides could use more ground content as well. Other than those it seems to be a decent game, not open world like enb or swg, but I can live with that.

  6. I love how people that can't figure out how to multibox on one computer, or don't have a second computer to multibox on get all hollier than thou on what should be done to those that do. I don't multibox, but i see no problems with it. It was in live and I had no problems with it then either.

  7. Having over 20k pvp kills in SWG (8k pre-CU), and over 175k kills total on several WoW toons (lv 80, lv 19/29/39 twinks), including kills not tracked by the system pre-BG's (no honor system so you had to use add-ons to keep track of kills), and after the honor wipe pre-BC. I think i can attest to the fact I am not anti-pvp. Quite the opposite, i enjoy killing pixilated people over and over. However as much as I would like to see pvp in this game, i just don't see it being something constructive.

The whiners i mentioned above were people that would make new threads on it as soon as the old ones were locked, they were the people that would not understand what the devs said when they replied to their threads saying basically the same thing I just said in my above post.

As far as wow pvp foes, and the ammount of servers there. Funny how the pve servers are called Normal, and not pvp. Seems to me that their idea of normal play is pve with the option to pvp if you so choose.

Wow was designed as a PvE game, with PvP on the side (look at the box you bought vanilla in, it'll tell ya there). Then Blizzard figured out a way to keep people playing, over and over...add 3 instances and a horrid honor grind, and players will stay in game for e-z epics. Great marketing strategy for them, no development work and players will stay satisfied a few months with no new content (of course they are now using the same system for running dungeons over and over for badges to get ez-epics in the pve field). Of course now they have the resources to keep pvp and pve content coming in each new expansion or patch, but up to a few months after launch, they still werent sure what they had for themselves.

Blizzard changed their game, to appease everyone. They put a focus on pvp that wasn't there when the game was released, they added an arena system that now dictates class balance, and they made it where the most casual of players doesn't have to do anything but do a few instances a week to get some of the best gear in game.

  8. Personally I would like to see a focus on bug fixes of what is currently in game before adding new content. When things stay broken then it just adds to the problem when new content is added. If something is broke, and new stuff is added then how can we make an educated assessment on whether it was an old bug, or what was just added that broke the code?

We all like to see new shiny things in game :( We also like to know that bug reports we send in are looked at, known, addressed and that we are not repeating ourselves over and over.

  9. I agree with what fragbait said and just wanted to add..... The only reason the arena was even introduced to this game was due to the devs caving in to the minority of whiners on the forums when this game was live. The same devs also stated that there was no way to balance this game for pvp due to the large difference in skills and abilities, some classes got nerfed PVE wise because of whiners on the forums complaining about just how unbalanced this game is for pvp. Now should our devs decide to try and balance this game to make pvp viable that is totally up to them. In the current state pvp is not viable in this game, and would take quite a bit of balancing to make it fair for everyone.

  10. TS is a fun class. No missions is a bummer, but has it's merits. No missions = much less xp at that lv, but also the ability to bypass long drawn out missions that take forever and get you away from what you want to do...mine or kill. Tarsis may be an hour away, but lord knows I sure as hell don't want to go there to get a hull upgrade on an engine that travels at 2500 warp max....

Do i want thing easy in game, No. Do i want them to make sense, Yes. happy medium would be appreciated for all classes.....10 drop only components as a n00b...please...I'll stick with the cannon classes til 150 then worry about the other stuff when I can farm it when Im bored.

  11. Ok so after talking to a few people, and attempting several builds i have come to the conclusion that something just isn't right.

There seems to be something screwed up between (name class) only, and (name class) restricted. As far as builds go.

My proof? In live i had a Devistating Gaze (Jenqui only) made by a Progen. meaning the Progen had to learn the build from the drop, which of course was , a Jenqui only beam.

The beam being transfered to me from the builder

The beam with the builders name on it!!

So I think perhaps someone needs to check the code as it is quite apparent there is a difference between restricted and only as far as builds go
