    So here is the status as we've got it so far, just for clarity:

    Cimbad, seconded and accepted
    Uniicorn, seconded and accepted
    Prre, seconded, has not accepted yet...
    Shadowwalker, seconded and accepted

    We only have a couple more days for nominations but all four of these people are good folks, also the "runner up" will be an automatic vice in the event of a problem that causes the elected Advocate to become unable to fulfill their term.

    And as a side note, though I declined the nomination on logistical grounds, I want everyone that is running and whoever is elected, if you need help, just ask. Shadowwalker and I discussed it and I think it is a good idea for the Advocate to have all the help they can get. WE have to empower the advocate, all of us have to give him or issues and ideas and he can present them to the Devs, then return their reply to us. Any way I can help any of you I will, just ask. (You will probably get a degree of my input whether you like it or not, just sayin.. :D )

    I believe the bugs have been corrected, but I find it ironic that not very long before this a number of people were also complaining that there is nothing to spend credits on and there are BILLIONS of credits just sitting out there.
     
    We do nothing to bring down credits, people complain.
    We make people use credits, people complain even louder.
     
    Gotta love it when nothing you do makes people happy.....
     
    As mentioned earlier changing the price of ores affects everything else.
    Ores makes comps, comps makes equipment.
    Increase the price of the base and it increases the whole by a factor.


    Between my soon-to-be 8 150 toons I have about 1.2 billions credits...

    At the costs before y'all fixed it, the build cost at about 1mil per stack of Bile ammo (which is raid drop only and hard for me to get since I don't get to raid regularly) and given the income based on the hold space in my PW/PP pairing I could just about break even, if all I killed were mobs that dropped L9 loot.. Now if I raid it costs me about 5 Stacks of Bile ammo for a simple gate raid.. and I will get nothing back for that except an item or something, MAYBE, and some comps. For the amount of time I actually PLAY the progens that may not be a big deal since I routinely play my JE and JD and they bring in a good amount....

    But I look at the players that have a single PW and wonder, how will this effect them? So I ran a test.. With just my PW... it cost me more to make ammo at 1.1 mil a stack than I could bring in on the PW (build ammo, run out to Paramis, Kill Gene Hunters until ammo gone, sell loot) I found my self in a depleting curve... each time I went out I could afford one fewer stacks of ammo...

    So 1 mil + for ammo on a PW is not going to work... you will kill the PWs.. Because without ammo they are in bad shape..

    Oh I was pretty irritated until someone said it may be a bug... I didn't spend all those hours building Progens just to have them benched because they were killing the bank... I'm sure they'll retool their value modifications and re-implement it at a more reasonable level now.

    Ammo is one of my pet peeves with Terrans and Progens in the first place... The really good ammo is either raid drops, rare comps or manu/drop only comps. Requires farming and prospecting to get ores and such then build comps then build ammo as needed. When you add up all the preparation hours for an hour of fighting it gets pretty bad. Adding extreme costs is just not right. Not when I can login my JD and just go, at the drop of a hat.. What is the balance in that? So they want me to farm credits just to pay for the final builds of ammo stacks? Really?

    Oh I feel you there, my progens are such a pain to manage cargo space it isn't funny. Ammo + Swap items = no space = no credits. I have to pair the PW with another toon in order to loot anything...

    I don't think 1 Mil credits to manufacture a stack of ammo is a good idea, but 1500 credits to do that same stack of L9 ammo is also a bit off key... there is a lot of room for middle ground there. Even if they upped it to 100K a stack it wouldn't be horrible, but I would think the 10/20K range is more reasonable.

    EG and the rest of us have assumed it is a green light, so please let us know if that is wrong... When I checked the trigger last it was not up after the reboot this afternoon, so we are going to take it when we see it again. And the Rotation that Static put up is what we'll try to follow I think. However I know some of the other small groups may or may not adhere to it, I have not spoken to them yet, but I am hopeful they will.

    Being a rather proud and paranoid person, it is good y'all have no idea how to get said Microphone to me.. :)

    On a more serious note, my last job I did work from home since the crew that worked for me was 7000 miles away. I tried to setup a Mic/Camera on my PC for this and had nothing but trouble so I had to use my laptop for my teleconferences... And as I said I think that laptop is dying as it seems to have some hardware issues and the sound is totally gone at this point, even the camera does not work anymore... Now when I say I had nothing but trouble, please don't think for a second I have no idea what I am doing. I started PC Support back in DOS days through and up until one year ago as a profession, on top of network support and blah.. SO when I say this PC ain't gonna do it.. I am pretty serious... I would need to get a PCI sound card of some sort because I couldn't even get my RosettaStone USB mic to work on this POS, which btw I gave to a friend since hers broke and I couldn't use it.

    I am honored y'all would go to such lengths but I don't and won't accept such things.

    Second...

    I spoke briefly with Cimbad today, we were trying to kill Santa (Oh Noes!) and he seems like a pretty genuinely good guy... And my only interaction with Uniicorn in game was very brief but he was polite about it (I think he thought I was plotting to jump a Static trigger). So It may be that both of these people will be wonderful Advocates I just don't know them well and I am distrustful of those I don't know speaking FOR me in anyway.

    I ran a test last night and tried to make more money with the PW than it cost me for ammo..

    I picked the highest loot profit mob I could think of, Gene Hunters in Paramis.

    Ammo Costs to load for the mission was about 8,000,000 give or take a little, this does not include COMPS for the ammo, just the build costs.

    Time on target was about 45 minutes.

    Credits made were about 12,000,000 but I had to use my PP to hold loot/ammo to accomplish this because after you consider swap-in devices for buffing and everything the PW did not have enough hold space to loot high end items like shields and MLs that these mobs drop.

    Antares Voltoi loot does not stack at all and drops of high end loot items like equipment does not drop often. So it is FAR less profit and uses as much or more ammo to fight there.

    The costs of the end-game ammo is completely out of whack because now classes that depend on ammo are in a credit deficit, this will force everyone to credit farm to feed their other toons in some way. That cannot be good in the long run.

    It may be that I just don't play the same times you do? Or similar. Not meaning to offend, just noting that someone who is an advocate should be someone that the everyone is comfortable with... The last advocate was very "quiet" which is not always good, Uban seems like a nice guy but informing people about what is going on needs to be more than "I have nothing to say" in a thread that is very old.. Whoever wins it I hope is a bit more forthcoming and realizes that many people that play don't look at the forums... I didn't even bother with them until about a month ago and I've been playing for 9 months.

    I've been told this is a bug, but I see no posts about it.. but...

     

     

    Cobalt Ten-Gu bile infused Fangs - 889,100 Credits

    Ten-Gu Plasma Shards - 85,680 Credits

    Ten-Gu Spines - plasma - 171,360

     

    Now since my PW runs 4 bile cannons this effectively stops her from playing... she does not make enough credits (due to small cargo capacity) to feed her ammo...

     

    Is this a bug or is this the real price?

     

    If it is a bug when will it be fixed?

    Daath, I would love to give you a response that states that 'All is well', however I have no idea myself.

     

    The only thing that I can speak for is that Static has agreed to a SKIP starting tomorrow at either server reset or 12PM EST whichever comes first. I guess we will all find out the intentions of the other two guilds the following week?

     

    Anyway, hope everything goes well for everyone involved. You guys get ready and go show that RD Base what for!

    OK we'll do our best to try it out then, but with the Devs spawning triggers every few hours it is not going to be easy to keep up!  Thank you Static for taking the lead, I hope this will work out well then!

    I would accept the nomination but since I do not have a mic and I am not likely to get one working anytime soon I would have to decline based on the "Must have a working microphone" requirement of the position.  But thank you all for the consideration.

    Socialist?  This isn't a country, it is a group of about 100ish people that play a game... I don't see your reasoning...

     

    If none of the big 3 show up, who knows we (the rest of us) may or may not be able to pull it off.. But by all means you don't have to help... I am not saying you MUST.. I am say that it is welcome if you chose to do it, no one will throw mud at you and such... You do what you like Zohawn, that is your option, but I certainly hope the others in your guild and the other 2 major guilds don't feel as you do.. I'd love to raid with them and I think 99% of the people in the EMU are good folks and I'd like every opportunity to kick some RD butt with them... 

     

    This isn't about a socialist EMU, it is about having fun...

    that still doesnt show exclusion. i mean come on, daath won an ed the other day, how far do you want that door open. we have guildies who have been after certain pieces of gear for months. they put in insane time and effort to accomplish what they have. why should anyone put some random person over some one whos busting butt to be the best they can be?

    I'm not saying put anyone above your folks... but I have been talking to folks that are not in EG, not in any of the Big 3 and they want to raid too... since they are not in any of these guilds they are excluded from the content as the situation stood...

     

    I see Static has tabled an open week, with the stipulation that Static can't help Public or participate.. I think that is a bit off base, but that is between y'all in Static and the other guilds... I for one would love to have Static, VGE and BI people help out on the Public rotation, especially those who need the pieces from the raids Public is doing... It would be a great way for the big 3 to show support for the rest of us and a chance for your people to get another shot at a raid or two they need things from.... I see absolutely nothing wrong with that, just like VGE having people fill slots in a raid for BI when they are short handed and such...

     

    Many people need items from these raids, I think the "Public" rotation should be a community effort not excluding the Big 3 but INCLUDING them in that rotation as well....

     

    Big 3 guilds with the raid experience will be needed for a long time to help people learn how to do them, it could also be a good place to find out if you like a guild and their people for a potential home for a person who has not been in one of the big 3... It has many opportunities for the Big 3 and everyone else to play TOGETHER... Not just keep in our own little camps and throw snow-balls at eachother...

     

    Does that make sense to anyone? 

     

    And if it makes you feel better, I wont ever bid on a raid item again, but I will still attend every raid I am asked or able to ... No more bits for my toons ever.. not one... ever again... Just because I got lucky on a roll to a raid your folks invited ME to is not a roll won for the dozen or so people out there that have never even SEEN one of these raids but wants to..

    daath, that would break the rotation. guilds in the rotation arent supposed to be doing rotation mobs. it keeps the rotation fair. its the same reason you cant have alts in multiple rotation guilds.

    Yeah all that stuff is just confusing to me as far as that goes.. If none of the Big 3 can help out the "Public" then it seems the "Public" is going to have it's hands full... I would think y'all would see it as a community effort and be willing to throw a few people in as needed to help out... But I don't understand all these extra rules y'all have in the first place and they aren't my concern.

     

    As for not being a different tack, perhaps not, but at least it is a positive move forward, I was worried when EG withdrew their request but now I have hope again... In any case I hope this sorts well and I can start to prepare support toons for RD base... Public is going to need it I think...

     

    Thank you all for rising above differences and seeing a way forward at least... I Hope all the stuff between y'all and BI sorts too, we are too small of a player base to have all this stuff flying around, it impacts us all...

    A new rotation schedule has been finalized by Static.
     

    Static –Troller /skip/Rd Base/GoBB
    BI - GoBB /Troller /Skip/Rd Base
    VGE - Rd Base/GoBB/troller/Skip
    Pubs - Skip /Rd Base/GoBB/troller
     
    We have sent this to the leadership of BI and VGE. So they are aware of where we stand. We do not know if they agree or disagree, however, this is the rotation that Static will follow with our SKIP week beginning this Saturday either with server reset or at 12pm EST as is the rotation change custom.

    Please understand that we did not give a slot to any guild or group, we simply walked away from the stress and unwanted/unwarranted aggravations that this entire situation has caused. Whomever decides to raid in our off week is of no concern to us, HOWEVER, Static members are asked to not attend those public week raids.

    *EDIT*** To avoid any confusion, the PUBS raids begin at the RD Base on this Saturday 11/30.

    Well that's something!

     

    Although the "No one from static can raid" part is a bit confusing... As part of the "PUB" that would be raiding that week, I say allow members of Static to raid with the "Pub" group if they need the raid chance to get stuff they need. There is a good chance we (the public) will need the help for a while until we get something organized and routine. 

     

    EG I hope will be a major "PUB" group backing the rest of the server up. 

     

    Thank you Static for taking a different tack and I hope BI and VGE can find this acceptable...
