  1. I think job mobs shouldn't drop any real value items.

    If you decide to do combat jobs instead of farming or grouping up with other players loss of credits should be the downside.

    Jobs for faster leveling are used enough as it is.

    You sound like my boss...

     

    Should work for their job reference and experience, but should not get paid...

  2. YES! Patch says good news :) Can't wait to try out :)

     

    Fixed: Dont allow mobs calling for help if silenced (hacking coms)
    Fixed: Show additional chat-area message to player if Enrage/Taunt is failing 
    Fixed: Chances and duration of Bio/Hack ability (scaling with skill level etc).
    Fixed: Hacking mob's reactor and devices will actually do something now.
    Changed: Mobs using HACK can temporary prevent the player from using any ability 

     

    Ofcourse Mob hacks too. I do remember "Shield offline", "Reactor offline" warning sound still from live. Sounds very promising and nice :)

  3. Since both actions are done while character is offline or disconnected (logout or via terminal) ...

     

    item move from cargo to vault from website, might be nice...

  4. note for devs:  to avoid exploiting the skills Westwood made it so that a mob should not be completely hacked/biorepressed. I think it was no more than 2 items could be uninstalled at a time regardless of how many TE's were using the skill.  This basically resulted in a single TE being the 'debuff guy' similar to a JE.


    It is same here, not more than 2 equipment is hacked (max two of engines, reactors , devices, shields or weapons)  regardless how many TW's in group or tries, once hacked it is immune for a time... No change there

     

    As Zack noted on Bug Tracker, 40s was bio repression, hack for engines is 10 seconds, weapons supposed to be 20 seconds, currently it is 10 seconds for anything and this is L7, 21 skill points worth, not to mention failure rates...

     

    Let's compare Bio repression & Hacking skills with PW gravity link now, duration, range, resists, usability... They are crowd control skills in the end...

  5. Killing your own faction is always raising RD faction - the chart doesnt show this because its a "standard" in the game server.

    The faction chart of the Portal cannot be "wrong" as it is pulling the data live from the game server! Whatever you see there will happen... 

    I see, what is Sharim killing Sharim?

     

    What does that actually do?

Doesn't the TW also get some devices to improve his speed as well?  He should be slower than the TT and Scout, since TWs don't have navigate.  If mass has been implemented, according to the documents downloadable from the portal, the TW and JT's ships are of the same mass.  The TT, Scout, and JE have lighter ships than the TW.  Can't remember if the PE's mass is equal to the TW & JT or slightly heavier, while the JW, PT, and PW are all heavier, and have only L8 engines.

    Yeah devices as much as any other class... Point is, TW has least number of skill points to spend compared to other warrior classes. 

     

     

    To max out all skills:
    397 SP - TW
    419 SP - PW
    419 SP - JW
     
    Least skill to Nav 5 which is most likely least effective on any balance other than a few thrust speed & engage/cooldown abilities would make it 409 even. Critical & HDC is unlike PW limited at 5..

Kyp, is there no way then to have the EnB server host put you on some kind of exclusion from allowing routes through this bottle neck?  I just went through today and MTR'd a lot of the other games I play and none of them hit any hops with this kind of issue.  Not even close, actually.  This is only happening to me for the EnB server.  I'd imagine the same results would apply to everyone else being affected.

     

    Back to Germany I would say would fix the problem :P

     

    May add a few seconds to gate but lag would not be noticable considering it is not FPS depending on pure milliseconds...

Yeah, you said fixes needed.  I didn't understand, at the time, whether you were saying that the planner was wrong in including navigate, or that the TW was wrong in not having it in his skill set.  With the comment about Kyp wanting the TW to be half-a-Terran I was thinking you were saying the latter.

    Ahah yeah, I actually was saying bug on planner but sarcasm on the other :) 374 max speed on a terran with best TE engine Terran Advantage at L9 kinda makes it crippled Terran :)

    If faction map says killing EarthCorps gives RD faction, that's the case for anyone who kills EarthCorps.  The other faction adjustments should also apply.

    Contrary, Faction map does not say killing EC gives RD faction, while it does....

    Yes, that what confuses most... Mouseover prices does not take negotiate into account I think, nor the group buff... You can not tell real sales price now unless you sell it for real... While items that vendors sell seems correct on negotiate effects.

    Seriously weapon hacked NPC starts firing less than 10 secs later... Nowhere near 40s... Is there something else I don't know about? Like weapon stopping last 5 secs or something like that or "damage removes hacked state" or something?

     

    If damage removes hacked state, why not gravity link question would follow :P

     

     

    EDIT: Just tried L7 Hack on CL15 Chavez, as CL50... After a few tries it finally could hack them, 5 seconds later, Hack effect on them go and  in 10 seconds it starts refiring... (with not a single shot fired by me)

    Went with a PS to a vendor, offered a NOS: 387,016

     

    Grouped with a Negotiate L7 TT, offered NOS again with the PS: 406,366

     

     

    Both toons were on the same station when trying it.

    Also note that this is only valid for selling items (per description).

    Zack, one test, can you test if it is really sell at that price?

     

    For instance my TT gets different prices on selling items than mouse-over price... Ofcourse it may be negotiate effect, but thought negotiate skill is included in prices while mouse-over item  (At least on info text after sale)

    • While it has said to be discussed internally, Kyp thinks TE's should be half-a-Terrans  ;) Avatar planner says TE has Navigate skill while they don't...

    Also Faction map matrix is missing or wrong at some point... "Killing your own kind increases RD faction" is said to be no longer true with Sharim, Shahadem etc. However, TE killing EarthCorps gives increase to RD faction, may be killing EC by anyone gives RD faction but it is not in matrix for some reason... 

  14. Problem with those skills

     

    Effect Their duration is shorter than their initialization time even on the highest 

     

    I suggest their range and duration to be inline with another crowd control skill on another warrior PW skill "Gravity Link" for 42 skill points worth... 

  15. @Stanig, from your log, I can see that you have very few jumps to get to Server

     

    As I can see you don't pass over Level3's Kansas node as well (which looks like a big problem over packet losses)

     

    Rather than connection quality, It's about location and your location is lucky to pass it. Also according to forum, you get your log at after 8:00am my time, which is often all ruckus usually ends...

     

    Try like 1 - 1.5 hours ago of your time when you get your log too...

    if you are gating or docking or even manufacturing whit this heavy packet loss, i bet the game runs completely mad, getting you stuck, drop, not returning items without relogging etc etc.

    Make sure you post the full log, it looks like the one REZ was posting - as we need to see every node in the route.

  17. From the drop rate i see, it is ok.

    I guess you are not really happy with the usual "unlucky" phrase tho....

     

    Anyway, its dropping at a fair amount tho.

    Hehe, I'm always unlucky when it comes to any dice roll :)

     

    Failed all 3 Terran Advantage in a row with max builds, overrides, 25k faction, grouped with 5 max faction 200% L9 builders... 3 times failure on Intolerances, cygnus 9 analyze, pretty much anything rare to find took over 3 failure to analyze... etc etc. 

     

    I know I'm unlucky on these stages, yet,  it is good to know it was "my unluckiness" and black cat only :)

  18. Ill field this.  The long and short of it:  Working as intended, and I will tell you why.  I am not meaning to really debate this, but there is a very solid premise for a lot of these rarities.

     

    Simply put, we do not want the mass production machine putting a 200 percent version of every item in the game on every toon/alt/mule to the point where there is no point to achieve anymore.

     

    Instant gratification, easy obtainment of uber/high value equipment, monty haul, whatever you want to call it, is a deadly cancer that destroys long term playability of a game.

    ....

     

    If an item is confirmed not to be dropping at all, and it should be, then we can look into making sure it is (see the Zet PL about a month ago), but we arent going to set something to drop so frequently that every single item in the game becomes common/walmart obtainable.  That just will not happen.

     

    I hope this clears up some things.

     

    All clear and fine, same excuse for hulk fields without replacement for Tiles or suits just because of proto stuff...  I just opened the thread if it really is still dropping or something preventing it to drop say it by bug or anything... You know I would really hate to loose all minimum 3 faction pools for something that is not dropping.... And I would kill a thousand more if it was not reducing all those "other" factions just because I kill some unlawful pirates... 

     

    No offense; as for other stuff you have written: If you really want something to be rare, please make them non-manufacturable and unique while keeping it in balance (unlike longer-than-missile-range-beams)... Because manufacturing is for those who does not worked to get them... Am I wrong? All manufacturable item buyers are people who wants instant grafication... 

     

    As for Ivory Ward on Live, sorry, it was not really rare, was relatively normal 5% rate... Difference and latency of item finding in Live was pretty much everyone was new and did not have that much info of 12 years... 

     

    Killing thousands of mobs is "Tediousness" not "achievement" 

     

     


    They only drop from the CL 48's RD's in Cooper.

     

     

    Two weeks ago I looted one and failed the analyze. Took an 8k faction hit before it dropped.

     

    Went back last week and got a 2nd one, lost about 10k before I got that one. Got the print this time, which is good, b/c I ran out of tiles.

     

    Long and short, it is very rare. I can't imagine anyone selling looted versions on the market. On the bright side, I'm sitting at 0 with the Chavez now, although the Psi's despise me.

  19. Dont know where you tried, but i see its dropping.

    Tried all cooper navs that has L48 big RD's, around RS8 and wreckage of alliance etc. around... Tried Grissom if I found one there, also in AP... Nada... Are you sure you guys didnt change its drop chance one in a million at some point? :)

     

     


    from what i remember it should drop from the cl48's in cooper although ive spent a few k faction trying to get one last i saw one drop was around december never see any advertised in market as looted forsale though 

     

    Yeah, I've never seen them either... number of analyzed people is also not long list... I just wonder when is the last analyze... 

  20. Over 8000 RD faction, along with Sharim & Psionic faction spent by killing those Hung Kwan Novices, not a single sight of Ivory Ward, I know they dropped sometime in the past, but does it really drop now?

     

    So I'm guessing at sometime may be after some patch it stop dropping... That's why I'm asking when is the last time you see dropped one? 

     

    PS: Not that I mind remaking faction, number was merely to show how many kills so far.. (around 22 lost per kill, so around 400 would be nice number)
