  1. Accomplishments, Badges, Collections and Title system ...

    Not a simple idea but might be fun and not to be confused with other MMO versions (not a skill system)

    Simple goals/games for players to have a badge or title... (not original title but as suffix bottom of their names), since we can't change client side anything, can be something from Net-7.org changable titles....

    For instance:

    - Harvested more than 1000 hulks : Scavanger

    - Harvested more than 1000 ores: Digger

    - Killed more than 1000 organic creatures: Hunter

    - Killed more than 1000 non-organic ships: Mercenary

    - Done more than 1000 jobs : Dutyman

    - Crafted more than 1000 items

    - Analyzed more than 100 items

    - Used more than 1000 Gates

    - Spent more than 10000 ammo

    - Spent more than 1000 hours: Sleepless

    - ...

    Or collections:

    - Killed every type (or n times) of X Mob : Doom of Zenshai, Red Dragon's Bane, Bogeril poker etc.

    - Harvested every level of Prototype Engines etc, some other title etc. etc...

    -...

    Examples can be limitless if there is some way to store data...

    Not on chat channels, but in game titles:

    Admiral SiSL, achivement title
    [Guild title]

    Additional titles for finishing epic quest lines, Aggripa, Neptune Saviour, Red Dragon rank titles

    Would be fun, do I want it? Not eagerly, but it is a side-content fun to achieve something :)

    Just an idea...

  2. Back to original topic after all these reads?

    Ofcourse casual building is DEAD & BURRIED... Not "hardcore" or "fed by guild" builders will have much chance on marketing or selling department. It was dead in origins too if you want to hear that, just have a more shiny gravestone now...

    Reading all these answers here, not one remotely responds to that main question "Is casual building dead"

    Everyday market channel is full of dramas of people on price tags or people making it only for button-click price; "bring your own components, guarenteed 200%, pay-for-click" etc. etc and other opposing blah blah blah...

    In an enviroment if someone guarantees 200% ALL-THE-TIME, nobody will buy anything lower than that... Nobody would want to go any other builder that does not guarantee such thing...

    No, in live, 200% was NEVER guaranteed all the time on L9, yes, percentage gets higher & higher but never 200% guaranteed. But then again, we had Quality DECAY in live...

    I see people's answers with rare recipes or people who mapped almost all recipes... Ofcourse system is good for them...

    ----

    Responding the original question, trade has problem of "does it worth now" thing...

    - Bring your own components, pay the button cost is not trade at all, it is a choice but not meant to be called 'trade'

    - Trade means profit, where is profit when your button costs twice, from refining - component building - final builts?

    - Same old argument of "...but but you get 200% item" , oh yes, 200% item does not mean 200% better stats you know... It's just better stats, but considering time to build something from finding ores -> refine -> building components one by one -> finalizing build... you are better with 100% item to worth this time... you just don't realise it often...

    It just does not worth hassle, loosing millions of credits to build - rebuilt to get better on crafting if you are not mother of a large guild...

    Me? I'm not building for anyone... Nor advertise... I do it for fun to my toons because then again, my toons won't complain to me just because it is not 200%

  3. Actually enbmaps.de might be wrong,

    For instance it says InfinitiCorp for Earth Station while it is actually EarthCorps...

    When you dock at station, you will get often a docking message, this is often tells you what faction station is...

  4. Can we at least have some of 'ammo' items dropped/mined rather than praying to critical analyze gods?

    Such as L6 Athanor Adamentine AMF2 ?

    They used to drop from EarthCorps Level 33 ships in Earth, but seems those ships does not exist anymore... Should we expect Level 6 items to drop from L50+ now since it is "rare" ™?

    I don't think "ammo" parts should be THAT rare  (especially the ones you can find in stacks on vendors) , only a radically experimental current build analyze system to decide.

    so if anyone know drop location of that or a seems to be drop only parts component, lets know about it.

  5. So I guess that means you will not be doing it as a standalone program, only a gadget for the Vista toolbar. Well guess I will have to wait till I can afford a new PC.

    Oh and you can install the Vista toolbar on XP machines, but it is not worth it on the resources IMHO.

    Nope, not thinking of a standalone program, sorry... If you can install Vista gadget bar, you might run it. But can't guarantee if it would.

  6. I'm a busy person and unlucky one...

    When I find time to get in, as a Murphy rule I find servers either offline or starting... I appriciate devs working so hard to fix such occurances and they act really fast on offline situations, that gave me an simple idea of making a desktop gadget for Windows Vista & Windows 7 users...

    This Windows gadget simply inspired from Net-7.org's Status checker...

    [attachment=2279:31-12-2012 15-08-38.png]

    Green = Online

    Yellow = Starting

    Red = Offline

    You can also set refresh periods of getting info on Server Status from Settings. With voice warnings taken from our client it is familiar. Devs might also use while gadget checks and warns offline situation too

    ATTENTION: Windows 8 users can use this using 8 gadgetpack ( http://8gadgetpack.bplaced.net/ )  , Windows 7/Vista users don't need to do anything, just double click on gadget file inside zip...

    And Happy new year :)

  7. Lol why would it make the game more challenging? All it would do is cost you credits. Player made equipment should be the best and stronger to use. In old live if you got blown up you would lose quailty value way to harsh is that what you want here? It didn't make the game more challenging just annoying.

    Yeah, your alt's hull patch would not fix how slower your weapons become, your reactor failing regeneration, going back to dock time to time might give you overtime to think, let's use my hull as a shield too... Those were all in live you know...

  8. With how easy it is to get credits, honestly, I see this being a non issue just as it was in the last year of Live.  I couldn't pay people to take a JS, unless we were doing a raid, but that is different.

    People just towed, and got someone in guild, if they couldn't do it themself, rip and re-build their gear at 200%.

    I can't say I really cared one way or the other.

    Only way to change that attitude is to make towing unbearably costly, credits hard to come by, analyzing terribad even with your version of the analyze dance and sacrifice, and making items at 200% very rare.

    I don't see a game like that being very fun at all.

    Will they put in what you want?  Probably, but not to the degree you are wanting.

    Just give it time, they are still tweaking things.

    I don't think I could explain briefly...

    Considering you both thinking quality or your 200% equipment will be down, it is NOT that...

    It is STRUCTURE damage, not QUALITY damage. It does not get you to get your equipment rebuilt if it is damaged if this was what you had in mind.

    [attachment=2272:29-12-2012 01-14-13.png]

    You see they are different values... Equipment damage is structure damage... and temporary...

    Equipment damage IS NOT permanent, WAS NOT permanent. Was Temporary. It didn't change build quality at all. All your equipment repaired to 100% if you ever docked (with some fee) , OR you could repair your equipment if you had skill or get it repaired from others if you don't want to dock... Your 200% will be 200% even it gets damaged, it just won't work in its best, unless you towed, or repaired. It was like that before. I'm not saying 'anything' new at all.

    In other words, your equipment is safe on built quality. Just with all hull patch and stuff, you can not get out of space and stay there forever. Hull damaged = equipment damaged, dock = fixes everything back, repair skill = fixes everything back...

  9. I have lost non structure % on items (aka quality)

    Hvave a few vendor devices that are at 97% (or less) quality. SO it is in, just seems less aggressive than in live on Q% damage)

    Quality & Structure are different units of measurement on an item. Quality = Built factor of an item, effecting item stats when it is intact (100% structure) , Structure on the other hand, effecting stats like Quality but is temporary, starting as soon as you start to get damage off your hull, was targeting random equipment on hits. For instance, your warp might be malfunctioning if you have 0% of structure of your engine, can not fire your weapons if they were completely damaged (those were people who are damaged almost to zero hull)

    What was in live was not permanent, structure damage was it is either till you dock or someone repairs you with their skills to do that.  Therefor was also adding challange to a degree to game. Once in a while, you had to dock...

  10. I have, umm, sorta, maybe taken a bit more dmg than my shields and hull allowed for, and when I towed/docked, I was charged a repair fee.

    Looks as if some of it is already in game, maybe not all they have planned nor all you want, but then, do we need all that?

    As I mentioned above, it is only if you are incapacitated already...

    I actually think we need everything to make any class skills mean something. It is not just what I wanted, it is what it was before... And it was good and has numerous good reasons for balance / health of the game / group varieties / Money-sink options to be in...

    If there is not any intention to add it back, why not change to TE repair ability to Hull patch then ;)

  11. Is there any plans for equipment damage to be made like in live?  I mean any damage to hull random percentage damaging random equipments?

    Currently except incapacitated / jumpstarted, there is no equipment damage in game, which makes one of great Enforcer skill basically very very rare used (may be seldom raid conditions)

    IMO, that would add more challange to game rather than mob aturism/curiosity/link changes and more balanced compared to hull patch skills in small group / solo part of the game...

    Currently if not dead or out of ammo, classes with hull patch no need to get back to station / break from combat at all... Equipment damage might bring balance to that, plus repair costs to have credits sink for economy...

  12. well if it was easy we'd all be Server Devs......

    Searing

    Actually I agree with you, I AM a server developer, just not this server, and I do know how difficult, tricky, frustrating that really is, especially considering that complex web of stats, and God is my witness, I do not envy you guys at this moment... Stating opinions or pointers does not really mean "whine", all hearts with Tienbau at this moment...
