  1. Would it be possible to research the Novaflash line of energy beams by Nishido? Possible quest line for the Jenquai Seekers?
Currently only lvl 2 & 3 of the beam exist available through a quest I've long since forgotten, but I would love to see them go all the way to level 9...

  2. Having served as the Advocate myself on 3 occasions, I'm probably one of the most qualified to enlightened those who don't truly know what the Advocate does. First and foremost, you (as a player) give up your opinion on virtually every issue, because your voice is no longer your own. You now speak for the players of E&B and as such you must put their views above your own. If you can't listen to others without getting into a heated debate (your not Advocate material). If  you can't be objective and pursue goals that better the entire community (not advocate material). You have no more power as the Advocate than you did as John Doe player. I urge all those reading this post to consider these things before you vote. Your advocate is  your representative at the Dev meetings to carry new suggestions, address fixes and/or problems and pass along valuable information from the Devs back to the player base. Best of luck to our candidates and may the best person prevail.

  3. It does seem as though the spite ammo samples are more rare than they should be, but I cannot confirm the frequency of the drops.

What I can say with absolute certainty is that the ammo doesn't drop every time that the launcher does. ie: Spite ML drops, Claw ammo drops. In my humble opinion there should be an accompanying ammo sample to the weapon if it drops. Having the ammo samples drop randomly regardless of the appearance of the weapon is fine, but when the weapon itself rolls positive on the drop table it should have at least one sample with it.

  4. Well folks, this will be my last post as your Advocate for a while. I have thoroughly enjoyed

my time as the Advocate and it was an honor to serve this community.

These were the topics discussed at today's meeting:

1.) Could a system be implemented that would allow un-spendable skill points to be transfered

to another character within our portal accounts?  (This was discussed at length)

Reply - This type of addition would take some time to implement and further consideration to

eliminate possibilities of potential exploiting. That isn't a definitive yes, but we will consider it.

2.) Request for the addition of EMP beam weaponry (L8 & L9) that would carry the 40%

turbo weapons (equip) buff.  (This was very well received and commented on by nearly

     everyone in attendance today)

Reply - Certain balance issues must be considered and some preliminary testing done before

we can give a final decision, but we like the idea and will be looking into this.

    3.) Content update pretty please?

Reply -  Kyp "I really wish I had a job where I could work half as many hours but make twice as

much money... but I'm nearly finished with the final tweeks to the phase 1 release and it should

hit the game either later tonight or tomorrow."

Footnotes - Nuggster was in attendance at today's meeting and wasn't bashful at all about diving

right into the mix.  I have high hopes that he will carry the torch even farther and light the way for

more advancements and improvements to our game/community.

Nuggster has received his promotion from the Dev's to Player Advocate and assumed the full

responsibilities for the office effective immediately following the close of today's staff meeting.

I know he is looking forward to hearing from all of you in the coming months.

Classified - As I departed the conference room, for possibly the last time, I heard the whispers

of new threats... an intermediate challenge of some sort... previously unseen abilities... and the

whispers fell silent as they realized that I was still listening. I felt their quiet stares until the door

    sealed itself behind me.

  5. Although that is largely accurate, it is somewhat incomplete. The Advocate is more than just a middle-man. With the help and guidance from the player base, the Advocate serves as a single voice of reason. The methods you use to present the suggestions and information often has a large impact on how things progress. Success of failure is often decided by timing and presentation.

  6. For one very brief moment I will speak not as your current Advocate, but as an officer of Builder's Inc. I can give you my absolute guarantee that no such order was given in BI. Our members are encouraged to put their support behind the person that they feel will do the best job.

I would like to wish you both the best of luck and many successes in your respective futures.

  7. Due to circumstances beyond his control Unicorn was unable to get word directly to me prior to my previous post. In the interests of fairness and letting the players have the final say whenever possible, I am upgrading Unicorn's status to "Accepted". The Polls will be open momentarily and may the best person prevail.

  8. Nominations for Player Advocate are now closed.

    Results are as follows:

    Nuggster - Nomination Accepted

    Shadowwalker - Nomination Declined

Iceminer - Failed to reply before deadline

Unicorn - Failed to reply before deadline

A formal announcement will be made shortly.

  9. Since both Terran and Progen retain their 40% turbo bonus's regardless of the damage type they wield, it stands to reason there should be a EMP equivalent to one of the existing turbo beam weapons. Personally I would love to see the DEV's create a decent EMP beam with the turbo bonus on it in order to allow a dedicated EMP setup that would be somewhat comparable to our current energy or plasma setups.

  10. There was an idea mentioned to me a few days ago.

<What if?> Unallocated skill points on a toon that can no longer spend skill points (all skills maxed) could be

transferred to another toon on that players master portal account? Possibly through a token/device system

similar to the function of the biostructs used for call forwards. Could serve as a high end money-sink by having

the token/device only transfer 1pt, single use item, non-manufacturable, non-tradeable, specific vendor sold,

    cost 50 million.

Would require some more fine tuning but I thought the theory was sound.

  11. Well, I certainly have to say I have been shocked and honored to see my name mentioned in this forum!!! I know I haven't always been the most active guy on the forums, but if there is enough of the server that feels I would benefit the players in the this position I would certainly attempt it, although Shadow has left some VERY big shoes to at least attempt to fill! I will gladly wait and see what decision is made and will welcome the challenge of the position or assist the next player advocate if it is not me =). The players WILL have an adequate voice I'm sure and I only want to see them benefit from whoever fills this position!! Go EnB!

These are nominations. Once a player has been nominated they must accept the nomination in order to be eligible to run for Player Advocate in the upcoming election. Nominations will remain open until 12:00 noon Sunday the 20th. At that time a poll will be started to hold the election itself. The election will run for 7 days followed by an announcement declaring the winner.
Footnote***  Should the newly elected Player Advocate choose, I will gladly make my knowledge and methods available to help insure a smooth transition.

  12. Ladies and Gentlemen, my term as the Player Advocate is coming to a close. It's been a true

honor to work side by side with some of the best players this game has ever seen as well as a

gifted staff who has given this game life again. I will not be accepting nominations for another

term as the advocate at this time. I've decided to take a term off and let some fresh blood have

    a crack at it.

To whomever becomes our next advocate I offer these words of wisdom: When you are acting as

the advocate you must do so with both of your eyes squeezed firmly shut. You see no friends,

you see no guild tags, you see no rank... you hear only the voices of your fellow players. Be fair

    above all else.

The Player Advocate is charged with the responsibility to gather player feedback, suggestions, complaints, and keep on the pulse of the community.  He is your contact with the development staff.  An advocate serves for a four month term and a possible second term, but no more than 2 consecutive terms.  Below are the requirements of the Advocate.

    Requirements:

    - Must be able to attend the Development Meetings on the Net-7 Teamspeak every Sunday at 1pm Eastern US time for about 15-30 minutes on average to meet with the devs and discuss playerbase issues/concerns/etc.  Three or more sequentially missed meetings may result in removal.

    - Must be available to the players at reasonable intervals and times.  Please do not accept the position if you do not plan to actually talk to the players or us.  You may use the forum, Teamspeak, in game chat, or any other method to contact players as you see fit, provided you are discussing game related matters.

    - Maintains a professional attitude and recognizes that they do represent net-7 to a degree, so adult conversation/discussion is a must.

    - Is able to have integrity to not discuss matters at the dev meeting past what is authorized to be released to the public.

    - Must not already be a member of Net-7 Staff.

    - If you are a member of a guild, please understand that you will be expected to cross party lines so to speak, and to avoid only representing the interests of the one guild.  You represent everyone.

The Advocate will be required to attended 2 meetings a month with the DEV Staff.
A working mic is also required.

    • A Player who arranges/meets with other players in Team Speak.
    • They read forum posts from players; and speaks to players in-game.
    • They take suggestions for issues to bring before the DEVs.
    • The DEVs meet with the Advocate twice a month, and listen to these suggestions.

If you nominate yourself, at least one other person must also nominate (or second) you for the position.  This is not a vote, please only nominate a given player one time.  We will hold a vote based on who have accepted nomination in one week.  Only those nominees who have posted "I accept the nomination" will be in the vote, so even though someone may have been nominated several times, if they haven't posted they accept, they will not be considered.

I will also update the status of those nominated every so often.  Please post any questions, and let the nominations begin!

  13. Hello Ladies & Gentlemen and welcome to the chalkboard.

This will be our primary method of sharing ideas and suggestions (and appropriate feedback)

before it is submitted to the developers/staff for consideration.

Just a couple of ground rules that I would like people to keep in mind while posting in this thread.

1.) Be respectful of other peoples opinions. It is not for us to decide if someone is right or wrong,

but to simply stir up the best ideas we can to submit to the staff.

2.) Should you encounter me anywhere in game or on teamspeak (unless I'm in a properly titled

room for Advocate affairs)... I am an officer/recruiter/raid leader for Builder's Inc and a player just like you.

While I am in these halls or engrossed in an Advocate discussion, I observe no rank, title or

affiliation so please leave yours at the door. Everyone will receive the same courtesy,

    respect and consideration.

    Now on to business!! :-)

Get those creative juices flowing and tell us what you think. Post your ideas and suggestions in this

thread for the month of April. At the conclusion of the month I will open a new thread so that we

can keep everything fresh an on topic.

If you have a suggestion that you would prefer to keep anonymous please feel free to send it to

me in a pm via these forums or contact me in game.

  14. Things have been pretty quiet of late so not much to report, but here are the topics covered.

1.) Particular device lines seem to have holes in them, where the items are not dropping.

Advocate comment - I was unable to obtain specific examples but will endeavor to collect more

    information.

Reply - We will revisit this subject when more information is presented.

2.)  Request the addition of more of the complex raid triggers & respective raids. (ie: OCD - Oni

Raid / Fishmaster 2000 - TadaO Gate raid / Face the Tengu - Fishbowl)

Reply - This type of idea could very likely come into play with some of our ideas for future raid content.

3.) Grav link skill seems to still be breaking the impact debuffs applied to a mob by another source.

Reply - This issue is already known and being addressed in the bug tracker section.

4.) Update on how content is progressing.

Reply - Sadly, the development tools used by the staff are currently "NOT - working as intended" and

have delayed our work. Please bear with us while we remedy the problem.

A moment of mourning -  I call for our players to come together in this crisis as we mourn the passing

of Fred. Fred was one of two twin hamsters who kept the fires of progress lit as they spun the wheels

that powered our Dev tools. High efficiency biometric crack dispensers were added to their wheels to

replace the old "timer driven" dispensers. However one of the dispensers malfunctioned releasing a

lethal dose into Fred's pellet bowl which resulted in a massive overdose. First responders reported

that BlackLung attempted CPR on Fred but was unsuccessful.
I'd like to call for a moment of silence as we offer our thanks to Fred for his years of loyal service and

dedication. He may be gone, but never forgotten.
George (Fred's twin brother) has elected retirement, knowing in his heart that no replacement could

ever take Fred's place. Their replacements Arnold & Ivan are going through the pre-employment

screening process and should begin work very soon.

Special thanks go out to all of the players and guilds who continue to provide these ideas and

suggestions for me to harass and torture the Dev team with.
**Memorial services for Fred will be held sometime this week during a private burial. Any donations for

Fred's family should be forwarded to either Zackman or Kyp**
