  1. What kind of trader has 5 Weapon Slots and Critical Targeting? The Terran Enforcer? That has 2 Trade Skills, see the problem?

The PP just seems too much like a Warrior to justify all that, it even has level 9 Reactor and level 9 Shields like a PW ffs.

Maybe im too wrapped up in the live version of the game where Trader meant Healer (TT only =P). Seeing a Trader with that amount of firepower, who can still heal (granted only shields), and has a build skill which was exclusive to the worst combat class just seems OP to me.

As for menace, it can fail.. and does frequently. But it potentially allows you to kill something without taking a single hit and that makes it powerful. If PvP was introduced into this game I guarantee people would be complaining about it within 5 minutes.

You ever used menace? Try it, PS throwing menace around is truly unbeatable... not.

You might be confusing PvE Menace with arena PvP Menace where it actually is pretty useful since the other player is never higher CL than you (assuming CL50).

In PvE, it works... sometimes when used on equal CL mobs, never on higher level MOBs and most of times on lower level MOBs. As such it is practically useless since it is fairly easy to kill equal or lower CL MOBs and the only time you like it work work is when that CL66 pounds on you but guess what? There is virtually 0% chance it would work on CL66 since it is a skill.

  2. It is not missing Framework since the exceptions list Framework libraries as originators.

I get this from time to time after updates due to missing entries in server address drop down list, for whatever reason... Once the exception hits, server address box is empty. Just hit ignore and select "NET 7 Multiplayer" and it should work.

  3. You could always JUST add a component indicator to the vendor name. Something to the tune "Jane Doe, I", "John Doe, IX", etc. This should be fairly easy to add to DB but might be problematic if any code references vendors by name instead of DB ID.

  4. Fixed my issue.

Even thought the Starship creator is already installed with EnB don't use it.

I even tried moving it to the main EnB director and it did not work.

Just redownload it and let it install itself in the default directory. Prolly wouldn't hurt to have EnB in the default directory as well.

After I installed the starship creator via download , I modified the shortcut as per the other posts instructions and made a couple of alts, deleting the first one I made since it was in an existing characters slot.

I know have my main toon and my two alts.

What fixed it for me as downloading and installing the starship creator seperately.

    Thanks, I will try that.

  5. As for number of recipes, the devs have said it repeatedly - even said the exact numbers on public channels. More to the point, I look at the quality chances on weapons, where I have fifty million recipes, and engines, where I have half a dozen? NO comparison.

Dunno, what I said is that the source code doesn't have a variable like that so maybe it is just wishful thinking. You know, some people claim that faction matters as well (does not yet), time of day as well, and when you hold your left ear and stand on the right leg does as well.

  6. I thought I would add some "insider" info to the above. I walked thru analyze, dismantle and build source code for current server build and here are my finds, in addition to the stuff listed above:

Jenquais get extra bonus to analyze chance. It is hard to tell what the exact amount is since the formula is pretty complicated and draws from characters stats, but it is sizable.

Terrans get extra bonus to build quality. Again, it is not obvious what it is, the formula is pretty complicated.

Progens get extra bonus to dismantle skill, you have higher chance to get each component. At least here it is obvious what it is and it is flat 20%.

Also, I couldn't find anything that would indicate that amount of formulas would affect build quality, so I have to provisionally disagree on that one :)

Knowing the above, you'd probably want to have Jenq character build uber rare items since they have the most chance to analyze these successfully. You don't want to fail analyzing these L9 scales.

Common place items, use Terran. You will get consistently better results when building.

  7. While menace can be sometimes helpful (but don't bet your life on it), the powerdown skill is outright useless, or was in live anyway, I had it maxxed out. It is a one way ticket, it either works or not. The problem is that you'd like it to work in the kind of situation when it will most certainly not work, when a much higher skill level mob attacks you and you are almost done for. Since that kind of mob has supreme skills, it will see thru your powerdown and send you home.

Another skill to add to the junk bin is repulsor field, it reflects some of the damage you're taking back at mob but unless you have extra skill points you don't know what to do with, don't invest in it before other core skills are maxxed out.

Gravity Link, again, questionable... It won't work most of times on the mob you'd like it to work on, e.g. a mob that has supreme firepower so don't bet on it as your survival skill.

Other than these PS specific skills issues, the PS is certainly one of the most versatile class in game. You can pretty much do whatever you want with it and while not the best in any of the task, you will certainly be good enough to get you by.

  8. OP certainly has issues formulating his thoughts, but has a point though. Somebody with slow connection might be rightfully disturbed by multi meg downloads of some MP3s that add close to nothing to the game but force them spending sometimes hours downloading the stuff... So, be easy on OP.
