  1. Would it be better if the mob was related to orefield level rather than the miners level? That way it would be par-for-the-course to find a L52 in a L9 field, or a L25 in a L5 field. By the way - I still find the ore-guardians hit and miss - good fields guarded by a weakling or nothing, and poor fields with L50's. And some now non-existent fields still guarded by mobs even though there is nothing there (or am I missing the hulks lol)

I'm yet to find much decent loot in these pop-monsters. There isn't much incentive to splurge missiles on a mob (or bother wasting cargo space on ammo). Just a few goodies please :) !
  2. Seriously? Whining about the lack of ore? There is PLENTY of ore. I can't think there are any more than 20 miners out there at any one time and way more fields than can ever be mined. If you are mining to order then it may take a bit of time but if you are wise the most efficient way is to strip mine everything in sight and stockpile it. Isn't that what everyone does? Or are we talking part-time 'miner' alts that are just out to mine the odd bit of ammo ore when necessary?

  3. There are several hulk fields guarded by high level mobs (in fact I think all high level fields should be guarded). Rez is quite correct - it means death to try to mine 52 debris in a level 9 hulk in some of those fields - you need to be quick in and very quick out. Kudos to those people who can clear the field and cause the the respawn. A little tip here - if you deliberately lose most of your reactor by using a buff device or skill - you can mine just half of the hulk and ninja out before the tengu or minion comes for lunch. The other tip is to lure the mob away (which is where a TS comes into their own) and then double back once they are away from the hulk/roid. n most cases its just not worth taking out the debris. If I had a suggestion it would be the sillyness of having 50+ debris - surely just 3-4 debris is enough 'clutter'? One for the devs to consider?

I also think cherry-picking is a fact, and totally within game-play. There are hundreds of fields for miners to mine. No miner has a god-given right to a field. There are not that many miners around. That said - if you want to farm a field then the best way to do that is clear the whole field, know the respawn rate and come back for the juicy stuff. If someone beat you too it just go find another field.
If you are that OCD about clearing fields just go tidy your room instead of insisting other people do so :)

No-one insists you have to clear all the lower level mob as well as killing the boss - or are we now going to whine about people just cherry-picking the bosses?
  4. Sure - there are a few drawbacks with pop-roids but I love them. They certainly make you think about mining carefully, plus the whole risk-reward thing. They also stop bot-mining and because of that I'd put a plea for them to be put into gas fields as well. If you dont like mining pop-roids - well - just leave them for those that do.

If they could also spawn mobs it would also generate a bit of excitement too!

I still think its a bit wiggy for for L4 ore JE to be dented by just 50% but my L9 max shield with extra shield extension gets 95% shield damage. Surely this should be cap, equipment and skill based?

Its also interesting to see what roids respawn if you pop a roid. Some interesting results!!

Just an observation - you dont seem to get field-clear bonuses if there are pop-roids? Is the answer as simple as doing one ordinary field spawn, and do a second spawn on top with a small number of pop-roids?
  5. I'd agree that the economy is meaningless for those with lots of money - you can buy most things you want. But there is not enough to buy. In other games there are more and more expensive ships (which get destroyed) and a load of special rare items and upgrades. Here, there is no real money sink apart from buying items to roast in the analyser. Even ammo is cheap if you have access to a miner.

In this game its easy - for some - to build a cash pile. Once you have 500m you dont need any more money and you might as well give your builds away free. I happen to like the way you can ask for a build and just provide parts and offer to pay build cost or tip well. I remember a certain amount of price gouging in Live for the rare builds. I had an early golden tooth and after 2 weeks never needed another dime.

Just like the real economy, the people who feel there is a real economy are the poor but fortunately in EnB there are plenty of ways to rectify that with a bit of work.

The real currency in this game is access to turbo items, energy conservation, accuracy mods, etc, etc.
  6. I don't think grail water is ultra-rare. But you do have to mine near some nasty 50+ mobs. And you do have to find the systems where it occurs.

One thing that needs work on is the presence of mobs with higher level ores. There are many 7-9 fields totally unguarded. That includes gas fields. I like the way Endriago is done with some viscious mixed mobs of various factions and types throughout the fields. High reward should have high risk.

Roc, Glorys Orbit, Antares, VC, KV, BBW should have more fields.
Inverness Planet used to be full of gas fields.
Perhaps some of the less visited systems off the beaten track should get a couple of nice hidden fields and hulks - Nebiros, Neptune, Ceres, Nostrand Vor, Ard Planet, Glorys Orbit, Planet Ishuan (all at the end of map routes).

I like the idea of occasional hulks scattered through more fields. Once you have found a few hulk fields you tend to farm them. There is more scope to add rare drops to hulks.

Thank you for the great improvements this year - I had a break of 15mths and returned to find a much better game for explorers.
