  1. Here's the June Content Update. I decided to put it here since we had been having our advocate preview it here. It happened July 7th. This information is also on the launcher.

    Changed font in talktree editor to monospace by Req. of Byakhee, to make it look closer to it does in-game.

    Fixed a value being entered in current as <= 0 to give an invalid value prompt.
    Per request, now we need a db edit to change all 0 frequencies to 1! (Soon)
    Added not dropping Items.
    Fixed drop items to use the new loot system.

    Streamlined Progen Warrior (Beginning Sector) missions to include:
    Information as to what is needed for the next mission as part of the end of the current mission NPC text.
    Experience rewards at the end of a mission.
    Pedagogue Kluu's mission now repeatable until you complete your first hull upgrade mission (for warriors who don't want to explore outside the starting sector, but be warned, such cowardly action will get noticed by superiors).
    Speak with Gratis Augustus Var [Version Discontinued] - the two part missions have been combined into one, meaning that the second now has both missions and has less travel to do!
    Fixed bugged Strange Rumors mission by making Getco Mining Rig appear in radar.
    Reworked Io hulk fields.
    Added advanced low level hulk table to Io hulk fields.
    Decreased Haywire spawn radius.
    Added combat test drones to Jupiter for players to test damage on.
    Added Sha'ha'dem Pilgrims to Jupiter.
    Added more level 9 asteroid fields to Jupiter.
    Reworked Jupiter hulk fields.
    Added advanced low level hulk table to Jupiter hulk fields.
    Added a few high level asteroid fields to KV.
    One more level 9 field in Antares Frontier.
    Added more details to Sample Delivery mission to prevent confusion.
    Added more Densou to ABB.
    Increased radii and asteroid count of some ABB asteroid fields.
    Added 8 and 9 fields to ABB.
    Added Hijackers.
    Arbhakas in Ganymede should no longer be insanely powerful.
    All Europa training space NPCs now have Jenquai avatars.
    Master Jubei in Swooping Eagle now has a Jenquai avatar.
    Relk Goodspeed will now appear as a desperate looking Terran.
    Moved Dahin Satellite so it no longer clips with the Gate to Kailaasa.
    Dahin Satellite now has a Cenovar avatar for the hull upgrade bonus mission.

    Added talk trees for Half-Eaten Space Suit turnins - except Fujiko Ohiya due to a bug.
    Fixed Mob in 61 Cygni being expoited for weakness and added 2 rare drops.
    Lowered drops on some fish in Cooper, no more 40 mill in 2 hrs time, or a dozen Archos Launchers in that time.
    Tools have been fixed to show Items Not Dropping. I will be adding these items as time and information permits.
    Amended Privateer (Missing Transport) to provide coordinates of the more hard to find requirements.
    No Requirement for Progen to pay for their first hull upgrade only.
    Stage I Agrippa Technology Reactor builders now have the chance to get the required device via the beam weapon or shield item as there is now code for OR to be used in mission conditions. For example: Weapon Token mission OR Reactor Token mission.
  2. The fields might be gone because they've been depleted by other players or they haven't been added yet.

    Pop rocks are still a work in progress and because of the way asteroid fields are structured right now they will never be quite the same way as live. Not sure it will stay that way but the way the fields work right now is you have to clear all the roids before the field will respawn, after a timer has passed. Back in live asteroid fields respawned gradually.

    The advantages of the way it works now is that players can't sit in the same fields and mine until they get tired. There is more need to switch fields and a more fluctuating supply.

    The advantages of the other way is you don't have to switch fields if you don't want to. There is less need to go out and find other fields. Some players find this more relaxing.

    I feel like it's such a minor difference if it's any difference at all that it shouldn't affect players' immersion into the game.
  6. Right now there are 58 players online about 5 or 6 of them are multiboxed characters so its roughly around 50. This is about as low as it goes with the max being around 200.

    I think we'll get over the clunky numbers thing pretty quickly and that players will just see it as part of the interface. [u]It actually breaks the fourth wall less if the number hovers next to their name instead of them saying the number.[/u] They shouldn't acknowledge the number because to them it doesn't exist. It's not like the floating name above the vendor's head is actually there, it's just part of the game interface.

    As far as development goes, it would be difficult to change the sign but very very easy to change the floating name to include the level.
  8. I feel we're getting a little bogged down with the details. Many people feel the JS doesn't know what to be
    here's what I imagine the JS as being:
    Support Master and Decent Builder: great buffs like reactor optimization, level 9 devices and shield recharge

    I'm not saying it's there yet and I do feel sometimes that the JS needs a buff, maybe something to make their combat a little more fun.
  9. It's a sticky situation but here's my reasons arguing for SS8's removal
    1. It wasn't supposed to be there because it was a developer mistake.
    2. It doesn't make sense for it to be there due to storyline.
    3. It has only been there a short while (where hulkfest was months and months ago)
    4. It's easy to do (arguing with us about this is feasibly taking more development time)
    5. We don't play favorites (but I think everybody knows that)
  10. thanks for the info about the engine, I'll see if it can get removed from manufacturing lists and inventories. This will probably happen after the content update a week or so from now.

    I can assure you we don't play favorites. The people who got it were probably just very active or in large guilds that shared the info with them.

    Let's all remember that the Solar Sail 8 was a bogeril item, and that if you can get it from something other than a bogeril mob or mission that's probably a bug. Bugs happen and we'll deal with them. Just alert us to the problem and let us know if it gives somebody an unfair advantage. No need for flames, we'll take care of it.

I was thinking up ways for Xipe Totec to be more dangerous and I thought, what if something in the sector caused your scan range to decrease while you were in it's area, similar to a radiation effect? That way when the oni and bio rippers come to get you it will be harder to see them coming and you'll have less time to react. We could add the same effect to other places like gas fields, planets and other dangerous sectors.
  12. well unless you think extreme inflation is a balanced economy, the economy will not balance itself out with more people. When it is too easy to get credits, which most people think is the case, everything will just be really expensive. Until we make sure all money exploits are solved and there are no insanely good ways to make money, players who don't have the means to access these insanely good money making ways will be broke and players who can will be the only players seriously involved in the economy.

    I do agree the economy could use some work, mostly in plugging up any exploits and balancing money making methods, but until we do this the only thing wiping credits will do is upset people. It may be useful in the future when money making is more balanced.

    though when your head hurts from bashing it into your keyboard too many times while trying to fix those problems, ore guardian timers could use a little attention ;)
