  1. this may sound cheesy but I love how the players of this game often helped each other when they didn't gain anything from it themselves.

like jumpstarts: unless it was a group member, explorers had nothing to gain from jumpstarting. They risked getting exp debt from jumpstarting other people but they did it anyway. Same with people who went to the incapacitated player's area and cleared it.

then there were those people who did free wormholes on occasion, and people who buffed everyone who passed. Then there were the people who followed other players around psi shielding them and recharging their shields.

There were a ton of ways to do nice things for people that hardly required players to sacrifice anything and it was a really good way to make friends in the community.

  2. It looks like both sides were presented to AF_Vet. Vonbon presented his side first, but jack had a screenshot to present his side.

I don't consider it condonable behavior from either side

jack and moon were a bit rude and stole vonbon's boss. They didn't exactly respond nicely to vonbon's accusations.

"11. Players may not engage in Kill Stealing"

as shown by the screenshot vonbon was also rude. he insulted them and threatened them.

"4. You may not harass, threaten, or otherwise show belligerent behavior towards other players.

it's vonbon's past that puts him in deeper trouble apparently. I'll leave that up to the GM team if they want to elaborate.

  3. it's probably a combination of us not having the teamspeak bar to automatically log people in and the switch to TS3. The DEVs have always been present in TS and have always had the power to boot at will. This fact has never really scared players before. Besides, a lot of the time the DEVs and GMs are in different channels talking with other DEVs and GMs, not policing the players.

the example you gave did seem like the GM was out of line, but think about this as well. We have had a good amount of complaints about players on TS being racist, offensive, vulgar or mean. I'm not saying these words describe all the players on TS, but looking at this makes it seem like TS is not overpoliced by GMs and DEVs. Since the GMs and DEVs don't seem to be causing these complaints and seem to help prevent situations where complaints like this may appear, I feel having an official teamspeak that is player only would not be wise. I understand things may be a little tense on TS with the kickings, but I think the GMs and DEVs are just a little on edge by the complaints.

  4. Functionality and space might be 60% done (though I feel that's far too optimistic), but content including instructional missions are less than 10%.

if by instructional missions you mean training missions, those are almost completely finished.

Many storyline and fluff missions are absent however and not all missions work in the complicated ways that they should.

I think if we say 10% is done, mojo will expect 90% of it to be broken, when that's really not the case.

I'd say at least 40%. There are many more missions to make, and we always have room to make our missions more creative and exciting. Hopefully implementation of new mission completions and features will help us make better missions

  5. the thing is, to me those in-game reports do not seem to be working as they should.

I've never seen ANY of these reports so it's not helpful for me.

and if the reports are going to beta testers, they haven't really been reporting them on mantis. This could be the case since the beta testers only regained their beta tags last week or so.

If the system is working properly, please give me proof. Until then, I assume that the in-game bug reporting system functionality is a rumor. I really hope that's not the case since I'm sure many players put a lot of time into making the reports. If this system doesn't work, let's make it clear so we stop wasting effort on it. If it does work, I want to know where I can find these tickets.

  6. well most level 9 devices added a new positive effect as well as a negative effect.

for instance the phoenix level 8 device had the following buffs:

    activated- transfer energy

    equip- increased reactor recharge

    and the level 9 had

    activated - transfer energy

    equip- increased reactor recharge

    equip- increased scan range

    equip- reactor damage magnification

so the advantage the 9 has over the 8 is increased scan range, a more powerful activated buff, and better equipped buffs.

disadvantages are more damage to the reactor and more energy cost. Seems like a pretty good deal to get a 9. Especially since the most important part of the device is to transfer energy and that buff becomes more powerful.

  7. The way I see it, we have this bug reporting section so let's use it. It couldn't hurt.

The bugs reported to betas that are put on mantis will probably get more attention, but mantis hasn't been used much lately.

I assume if the bugs were fixed, the dev who fixed them would report them as fixed in the thread.

You can see known bugs by looking at http://mantis.net-7.org

and looking through the bug reporting section on the forums.

  8. Us developers would love more bug reports in the developer support bug reporting section.

One of the most time consuming part of developing is finding the things we need to fix. With that in mind, helping us find these bugs would be greatly appreciated.

So please, make bug reports in that section and help us get this game polished up.

    Things to Report:

    mission typos

    missing missions from live

    missing navs

    regular talk tree typos

objects and mobs with wrong assets (they look differently than they did in live)

    broken missions or buggy missions

    sound bugs

    broken or bugged skills

missing mob spawns (remember we are early in storyline so no vrix)

    missing mob drops (^^)

    and other general bugs.

Also if you see the bug already reported, do not make a new topic for it.

We're looking forward to fixing these various bugs and making the game more as it was and should be.

  9. auction house would be cool if it was possible.

prospecting, nahh. What would be the point of being an explorer? You can tell by how much outrage happened over the prospecting bugs that most explorers spend a great deal of time mining. Making this apply to warriors and traders would lead to a great deal less explorers. Giving such a vital part of explorers to other classes would disrupt the balance of classes.

  10. if it makes you feel any better irbis, your group is listed as donator's because you donated. You can be proud of that :)

at the end of every month, the donator's list refreshes which is probably why your username's not there

now if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna leave this thread before it makes me too hungry..

  11. So there are plenty of bugs around and we are working on fixing them, but I was just wondering what bugs were annoying people the most. Knowing which bugs are causing the most suffering maybe will lead to them being fixed more quickly than other less important bugs. What are your top 5 most annoying bugs?

    Mine:

    1. Roid respawn rate. Miners feel unloved and it's hard to balance density of roid fields at the moment.

    2. Controller getting solo kited.

    3. Mobs dropping halloween drops and other weird things. It fills in the money gap but it just seems so weird.

    4. Being able to gate before you arrive at gate. This messes with a couple of Jenquai missions and people always say they're broken..

    5. The Jenquai Seeker skill acquiring bugs.
