  1. Honestly a char's name should be (and always has been in many other games, weather stress tests or not) on a first come, first serve basis. Weather these people were part of prior stress tests or not, it'd seem that Daywolf got to it first on this go-round.

If someone has the ability to rip another persons name when they cry to a GM about it. Well it leaves people looking at the staff in a ...certain way to say the least.

Besides...since when can you lay claim to a character's name? What right does anyone have over another to "Heey, that wuz mine first! give it back! *wine* "

    I mean c'mon..

  2. Well the char planner is a bit "wonky" and there is the issue with the 3D rendering of the avatar (which you've already gone over, just using it here as well). For some reason (it could just be me) the page is sorta off to the side. Might be my resolution but I have to scroll click and slide the page a bit to center it in my browser. As far as the rendering goes. I know it might be able to be done. I had it done with my wow pserver because I had implemented a form of Armory much like the one used in retail wow. Not sure if it'd work the same way here however. It displayed the char (just as the char looks in game), its equipment (including the item/equipments item tool tips), stats, talents, guild, arena/BG stats and Rep/Affiliations. Not to say you guys would have to go through all of these things. But I wonder if the char rendering would work the same way.

Karu's idea could also be a feasible suggestion.

  3. Is this really happening? Is there really someone here QQing about a player wipe for a game they don't pay for? Seriously? Hate to be a "hard ass" about it, but it's true. You aren't paying for it. If you donated, great! However it was just that. A donation. Not a $15 or so monthly fee. Thus there should be no QQing regarding ANYTHING the higher ups decide to do.

Sure there's nothing wrong with stating your opinion or what you think should be changed. But as a lot of people said, do you know what goes on in the back-end of the emu? Why they'd warrant a complete wipe? And even if you did. So what. Not your call.

In the end, either sit back and enjoy what you can and not complain...or you could simply leave and find another EnB emu to play on. B)

  4. I have a small suggestion for enb database i scoured it recently trying to find the equipment drops and what nav the mobs are at that drop them it says sector but not what nav in the sector i was thinking that this upgrade to the database would render alot of people askin for specific enemy location in game thus freeing up the chatter

"Chatter" is part of what makes this game what it is. The ability to interact with each other, chat with each other. Gathering and projecting information to one another. Without that, E&B might as well be a SP game hm? Besides, sure there is a lot of chatter in "New Player" channel that probably should be used in "General" channel or even "Out of context" channel but again, without it...this wouldn't be one of the great "oldie but goodies" that it is today :(

  5. Fantastic

This all looks amazing. The sig creator as well. Not sure how often it'd be used by a single member other than maybe 2-3 times (possibly 4 times) per member and using web space (and bandwidth?) for a feature that isn't as used as many of the others. But even still, it all looks good though.

I've been hoping for that mapping as well and the char planner I know will help me at least even if no one else uses it :)

This is the kind of communication and feed back I think a lot of us were looking for. And Slayerman made good on his words when he said there would be more of it.

"Now thats change you can believe in!" lol

  6. orrr query the database?

That sounds like a good idea. Hopefully that would be something they plan on doing. As far as the acct wipe is concerned. I do it with my wow pserver's DB every 3 months or so to clear accounts and release chars and char names from said accounts that have been inactive for 4+ months.

They could do something like that here instead of wiping the entire account DB. (I do hope that wasn't what was planned lol )

Well there was one GM online at the time P0007 who was yelling death to all players in general chat. He Seemed like a pretty funny guy and that the whole event was planned. It be hard to believe the rights of a single person would go under the radar like that however. And if he wasn't the one that caused it, why didn't he unspawn them?

    That is a good question.

-Perhaps he didn't know about them?

-Didn't think he had permission to despawn? (Someone higher up the food chain could have been working on/with something for some testing purposes)

Not sure. However lets not point fingers and blame the blame game. Important thing here is the server was able to handle all that commotion. Weather it was planned or not, the server did fine. And the mobs are gone (I hope) and all is well within the galaxy once more.
